Chatrooms

HI,

 

At the moment the chatrooms are hosted with Digichat, rather than renewing them, it would be cheaper if I brought the licence.

 

So I've cancelled the Digichat hosting, and am planning to but the chatroom licence in the next few days.

 

But before I do, I wanted to check that everyone was happy with the Digichat software? If you think theres some better chatroom software out there – let me know (with url)

Digichat seems the best to me.

why not set up a java client for an irc channel, that way it's free and anyone can use it

in an IRC chat room you can send a virus to everyone

 

Kam Digi chat is the best it has mods who can keep order

The other reason i was thinking of maybe using different software was so that people could register to use them (if they wanted to) that way no one could use anyone elses name.

 

Although you can do that with digichat, but I would have to do all the code for it, which i cant :)

You could use one where you need to register, but what's to stop people allowing others to use passwords etc...

 

Not that i'm implying Chyna would do that, even though she used to allow Craig P to use her Anya mod name and gave Lui mod smiley cods....I mean, not that i'm implying that at all.

 

Someone should have tried getting out their pit and going in to their exams...shouldn't she!

Hey, leave chyna alone, I am sure she can do something right ......... whatever that may be and she is very clever in a strange sort of way I think, anyway I say DigiChat 4 Life, of course you could use Chatpod for free but it aint as pretty, although its alot the same....

This whole Chat shenanigan isn't my bag baby, but I like the Digichat format. Any program which allows you to give out Mod status, is easy to use and is safe sounds good to me.

 

And hey, thanks for putting the chatter's wellfare first. I'm sure everyone appreciates the sacrifices you've made for the chat, financially and otherwise. You da man, Kam ;)

The digichat format is 1 i have grown to love over the past 7 months and it's simple, but in the end it's your site.

As a visitor to many a chatroom over time I must say that for all the stick it gets, Digi Chat is probably the best one I've been in. God, I miss Wrestleline's sadly departed chatroom but the amount of flooders, swearing and general nonsense that went on in there was ridiculous. If it weren't for the few sane people that visited there I would never have become a regular.

 

Digi Chat is not perfect but it's not that bad either. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

ive been in a few different types of chatrooms, and digichat is the best and thats all i go in now. easy to use, and it looks good to.

Anyways, turns out it wasn't just craig p...because when I mentioned it in chat about 3 people said "oh yeah, the Anya name!"

 

It's just as well Chyna never did get out of bed that May morning, she might have gotten a job in National Security..."awwwww, but that Mr Laden guy seemed so nice when we spoke in chat!"
