The US Title is being brought back for SD only. What you guys reckon, good or bad idea?

BAD idea, at the moment on smackdown you have the WWE title, tag titles, and the cruiserweight title. Do they really need another one? Most of the smackdown roster is in someway or another tied to a title so i dont think there is call to return it.

THey need to make the IC title crosspromotional so RVD can have another Ladder match with Eddie.

I had a feeling they would do this since they brought the IC title back to RAW. I think its good provided they dont devalue it the way theyve devalued the IC belt since bringing it back. Therefore give it a credible champion and make sure hes booked strongly then it can only be a good thing.

I dont really see the need for another title on Smackdown! The good thing about Smackdown! was that there is a large pool of wrestlers who are contenders for the title. You have alot of potential. Bringing in the US title will on split the roster up more, which I dont think is a good idea.

 

However, I like the idea that El Selecta came up with that a title should be crosspromotional. Maybe either the IC or US title. That would be pretty cool. Seeing the champion defend the title on one show ever other week or something.

Jesus, is this promotion run by brainless monkeys?. Why, oh why, bring back another title when your (supposed) World titles aren't even over. The ONLY way they should bring any new titles back is if the guys on top are put in a program with the titles involved.

 

Can anyone argue that WWE is creativly in the dump?, and that's all that the problems are, creative. I guess that's what happens when you have 'writers' who know nothing about the industry (psychology, working a match etc etc), instead of bookers who had some wort of previous life in the industry.

 

Maybe they could exhume the WCW Trios titles as well and push Shane, Steph and Vince as the holders.

I hear they're saving this until next Wrestlemania. Also its not Shane. Its Triple H, Steph & Vince.

I actually think it's a good idea as it gives the mid carders something to compete for people like Benoit, Cena, Rhyno and O'Haire could go for it

My main problem with it, is that say that Rhyno & Beniot are fueding over it, it could leave others in a state of obscurity, if you will. If they have just come ou of a fued for the US title and ending up on the loosing end, then how can that wrestler be considered for the World title anytime soon? Whereas without it, we have seen many different title matches, Angle vs Brock, Brock vs Show, Angle vs Show, Brock vs Cena, Angle vs Beniot.

 

There has been a nice mixture. Personnally I think that Smackdown! is better off without another title.

I think bringing back the US title is certainly a good thing, face it, at the minute people like Matt Hardy, John Cena, Rhyno, Chris Benoit and Sean O'Haire have no belt to feud over, as none of them seem to be feuding over the WWE title anytime soon. As long as they use the right people, they could build up a nice little tourney leading up to a final at Vengeance. This should be a good thing for the WWE, unless they screw up and end up giving the belt to someone like A-Train.

A legendary title comes back - that's great news!

 

The WCW United States Championship has many champions in it's glorious past, however in the SmackDown! version - I bet the WCW logo will be replaced with WWE logo :(

 

In the good old days of WCW - holding the United States meant you are the second most important title holder behind the WCW World Champion itself.

 

Normally most of the champions has gone on to be holders of the World Championship.

 

If WWE carries on this tradition then the United States title might mean something for the "Mid Card Pool of Talent".

 

Handled rightly - it can be a prestige title.
