Does anyone actually still like punk. I love all punk whether it be classic like the Clash or the Jam or new stuff like Blink 182 (my favorite) or Whitmore. Recently i've heard people on radio and Tv slagging punk music what do u guys think.

Just gotta point out that Blink 182 aint proper punk. I liek the clash and bands like Green day but there not proper punk either

Anyway, I like The Used, AFI, and Green Day. That's the nearest I come to liking Punk.

I love old Punk such as The Clash and Buzzcocks. I like alot of old D.C. hardcore like The Dead Kenedys and Black Flag. Punk went shit after the early 80's. As for Blink 182 etc. people say they are not proper punk because they just play a style of music. The whole point of punk is that it was/is a rebelion against everything that had gone before. Playing a generic style of music 30 years later as about as un-punk as you get. I think all that west coast crap like Blink, GreenDay etc is vapid shite.

Exactly right el selecta, punk is just like R and B, both are completely different from what they were, now.

I also love late 70s punk, the real deal, Buzzcocks, Sham 69, Pistols, Clash, Stiff little Fingers, Stranglers, Cockney Rejects all awesome, i'm also a fan of the Dead Kennedys. As El said punk was all about rebelling against the system. Just because songs are fast/loud they get classed as punk. I don't mind groups like Blink and Greenday, Transplants and Rancid, they're good, i like that type of thing, but it won't beat the late seventies for punk.

Punk and stuff is my music of choice.......favourite bands are New found glory, Simple Plan, GreenDay and Less Than jake........ooooh and the starting line ooooh and more :D

Emag, I think the bands you just named go under the "stuff" catagory :)

 

 

Anyways, whether old punk, punk-pop, ska-punk or rubadubfunkpunk, I hate it all, and is the only type of music that I flat out refuse to listen to.
