Rock Ballads

'Always' is one of my faves too. I'm going to see Bon Jovi this Sunday!

What about Meatloaf's 'Anything for Love' or 'November Rain' by Guns N' Roses. 'Don't Cry' and 'Estranged' are pretty good too!

Nothing Else Matters by Metallica is a pretty sweet tune, I also like "Bother" from Stonesour.

"Circles" by Kill 2 This

"Forgive Me" by Evanescence

Anything by Nightwish can be considered a ballad ;)

Bon Jovi

Went to see Bon Jovi at Ibrox.

Had Gold Standing tix so was only a few rows from the stage!

Was a good show at around 2 1/2 hrs.

Support group (Live) were really good too.

As good as Bon Jovi was, he didn't play 'Always', 'Bed of Roses' or 'Blaze of Glory' : (

Still played all the classics though, and some tracks from 'Crush'.

Enjoy Hyde Park!

I'm not sure what the exact definition of a Rock Ballad is myself, I always think of the 80s term of slow one hand only required drumming, a bit of synth keyboard (to prove that it's a ballad), mullets, hazy music videos and interspersed odd lead guitar notes (usually a bend on a high note). For that old stereotype I would say:

Def Leppard - Love Bites

Whitesnake - Is This Love?

I actually genuinely like those bands, so I'd choose them anyway, but on an even cheesier scale of the 80s definition:

Heart - Alone

Alannah Myles - Black Velvet (not so much a love song as admiration of Elvis but it's still worthy of a mention)

Anyway classing it as just any slower rock love song I would choose:

Thin Lizzy - Still In Love With You

Led Zeppelin - Since I've Been Loving You

The Rolling Stones - Angie

Guns 'n' Roses - November Rain

Bruce Springsteen - Secret Garden

I'm sure there are more but that's the lot for now.

Yeah, Everybody Hurts is a great. I remember going to a road safety thing in the Waterfront Hall about 18 months ago and they played that whilst it showed you images of people who had been paralysed from car accidents. It was really sad. Great song.

My favourite ballads (well what I'd consider ballads) are:

Radiohead - Creep

Radiohead - Thinking About You

Radiohead - Fake Plastic Trees

U2 - One

U2 - With or Without You

Coldplay - Yellow

The Beatles - Something

John Lennon - Jealous Guy

Oasis - Slide Away

REM - To The One I Love

There are loads more but I can't be bothered typing them.

"F*** Her Gently" by Tenecious D.

"And then you say 'Hey I bought you flowers,'

and then you say 'Wait a minute Sally!

I think I got something in my teeth, could you get it out for me?'

That's f***in' TEAM WORK!"
