Alright, really people, you all know this is fake, so why do you watch people act like they are doing stuff. If you like acting so much why dont you go see plays. The league prolly flips a coin to see who wins before the match. The wrestlers are good athletes, but, they are just dancing around, not actually doing a sport.

If you have such a low opinion of sports entertainment then why are you here signed up to this board? Everyone here enjoys watching wrestling due to various reasons, yes we know that results are determined but that doesnt distract from the fact that the programs are entertaining and great viewing. You shouldnt just come here and take shots at the people here who love the product and have done for years. The best idea is not to enter a wrestling forum and slate it off.

The violence is choreographed but the result of the violence is very very real.

we prefer to call wrestling "predetermined" or "choregraphed" not "fake"

boxing must be fake, lets face it anybody can swing a punch, but most of the time you see them hugging or having staring contests.

while your right in that it's not fully a sport, in fact i think vince called it "sports entertainment" just so he could use a building or get a license. But That's not the point, the point of the wrestlers is to entertain us. but the fact that the atheletes train, learn skills,and make the sport look compititive gives it that sporting feel. Anyhow there are "shoot" wrestling feds that do "real" (I beleive Rikidozan knows a few...but i might have to bribe him with some alcohol :) ).

to say the wrestlers just flip and flop is really a niave view. these wrestlers learn skills such as taking bumps and excuting holds properly to avoid injuring yourself and there oppenent. you try doing what they do with a view like that and i'll send you a card to the hospital in advance :D

nobody flips a coin. the bookers and the guy in charge (for the WWE it's Vince Mcmahon) decide who wins on a basis of who deserves it and who has the ablity to "carry the ball" (which they seem to be getting wrong these days)

we only know the results if we read the spoilers, but even then we still watch to see how the match went.

Its called, taking a break from reality mate, why do you watch TV soaps, why do you watch films? The same reason we watch wrestling.

 

Yeah we know its all predetermined, and the fighting is scripted, but so is watching Lyn Scully's pregnancy, or seeing an Incredible Hulk throw a car. It's escapism. I don't think its ever intended to be a sport, it's just wrestling.
