SmackDown! Matches:

Smackdown opens with footage of the Zach Gowan-Stephanie McMahon-Sable-Vince McMahon angles from last week.

John Cena comes to the ring and raps about it being the one year anniversary of taking the open challenge and making himself a superstar (defeating Chris Jericho). He says that he is offering an open challenge to any rookie. Out comes Orlando Jones. Cena defeated Jones and gives him the F-U after the bell. The Undertaker comes out on his motorcycle. Cena leaves the ring. Taker watches as Jones gets to his feet and shows respect for Jones.

The Undertaker and the APA defeated all three members of the Full Blooded Italians when Undertaker pinned Johnny Stamboli.

In a vignette on the Titantron, Jamie Knoble and Nidia were walking down the street in front of Madison Square Garden when an attorney approached them and informed Knoble he had inherited over 800 thousand dollars from a dead aunt. Nidia and Knoble freaked out over their winfall.

Matt Hardy pinned Rikishi in a WWE United States Heavyweight championship tournament match.

*WWE Tag Team champions Eddy Guerrero and Yoshihiro Tajiri defeated Roddy Piper and Sean O'Haire when Tajiri blew mist in Piper's eyes and Guerrero hit him with the frog splash for the pin.

*Vince McMahon brought Stephanie McMahon and Zach Gowan to the ring. He told Stephanie that he thought about what she said last week and that he realized that he did indeed ask her to do things to "seal the deal" with business associates when she was young and feels like he "deflowered her" himself. He said that he took her innocence and she sees that innocence on Gowan. Vince told Gowan that he, too wants to be like Zach because with all that Vince has accomplished, he has never stared death down like Zach did. He said that he wants to apologize to Zach and start with a clean slate. Zach refuses and says that he has fought back from obstacle after obstacle to become a pro wrestler, only to have Vince mock him and tells Vince to go screw himself. He says that if Vince really wants to apologize, he'll offer Zach a WWE Smackdown wrestler contract. Vince says that if that's all it is about, then Zach can have one. Zach questions him in disbelief and Vince says that if Zach wants to earn it, he can join the "Vince McMahon Kiss My Ass Club" and pulls down his pants. Stephanie whispers something in Zach's ear and he goes down on his knees and lowblows Vince.

Zach and Stephanie leave and Vince gets up selling, before walking around the ring with Zach's cane. He throws the cane towards the ropes in anger, only for it to fly through the ropes, hitting the face of a 20 something lady in the front row. The woman was checked on by McMahon immediately as WWE cameras shot footage. After Vince returned to the back, the shaken woman and her boyfriend were taken to the back for medical attention. The crowd chanted "lawsuit" as she left.

Ultimo Dragon pinned Shannon Moore. Rey Misterio Jr. was doing commentary and after the match came into the ring and raised Dragon's hand. Billy Kidman was at ringside watching the match from the front row with a woman on his arm (NYC area valet Miss Michelle).

The Big Show, Charlie Haas, and Shelton Benjamin defeated WWE champion Brock Lesnar, Kurt Angle, and Mr. America when Show pinned America after a chokeslam. America was distracted by McMahon bringing out Zach Gowan and kicking him in the stomach. Stephanie McMahon came out and covered Gowan. Vince told Gowan that he could wrestle for his chance for a contract, teaming with Stephanie in a handicap match against the Big Show.

Interesting, looks like an alright Smackdown, depends really on the quality of the match's. Matt Hardy's push to the top continues!! Mr Charisma Billy Kidman himself is back, maybe they should team him with Lance Storm and Linda McMohan to create a new heel stable on SD!?

Anybody know where Brain "Spanky" Kendrick has gone? No Benoit, Rhyno or Sable, once again showing how the wwe creative team don't have a clue.

I thought the show was ok.

Was it me, or was there a Matt Hardy chant during his match with Rikishi?

Ultimo looked great. With Kidman, Noble and Rey used on the show too - finally the cruiserweights get some TV time!

No Benoit, Rhyno, Kanyon - but they can spend all that time on Vince, Sable, Steph, Zach and Mr America!

Vince hasn't a clue. So let me work this out - he puts one of the best workers in the company in a Velocity match just so that he can find enough time in the show for him to bare his arse on national television once more. Ratings winner there Vinny!

I think you're right Kam, I think the fans are starting to cheer for Matt more and more... at the house show I was at he received one of the biggest pops after all! (*dances showing off that he was at a house show... wow eh?)

Plus... good to see Smackdown, even a so-so episode of Smackdown, still manages to be far more entertaining than Raw. How DO they do that? :)

I thought Raw was superior this week. I mean, id rather watch a Jericho highlight reel than a segement with Vince taking the piss out of Zach Gowan.

the whole Zach Gowan s Vince's ego has gone too far (length wise and suitablity)....

Vince, after getting low blowed would say something that would end up him mentioning one of two matches that are either 1)Zach to have a match with someone his size or slightly bigger for a contract (with Zach going over thus helping the angle end quicker) or 2)Zach and Hogan vs the Big Show (vince would change the main event into a 2 vs 2), with Zach again going after Hogan does everything but the pin.

Zach with a partner of someone else vs the Big Show would have been wayyyyyyyy better then Zach + Steph vs the Big Show (yes Riki even Hogan being Zach's partner would have been better then steph :D)...steph gets enough TV time withour being in a match

i was skeptical about the Taijri and Eddie G (i have trouble spelling his surname :lol) but now i'm loving it, they've made the tag team titles look more credible, i hope when Chavo comes back he is still alligened with Eddie G and Taijri...it could become a cool stable.

i wasn't marking out for ultimo's match. but i did like it and i know to bring out the best out of him, he needs more time and better oppenents (not taking anything away from Shannon Moore, it just that his skills are not fully developed yet)

i wish Chris Jericho was on Smackdown...then maybe Vince would push him for the WWE World title...wait did i say Vince! better make that a) a dream and b) a very very very....very small maybe

Forget everything in WWE - what WWE really needs right now are:

Steve Corino and Trinity!

There is major work WWE must do - the promotion and it's brands are dangerously becoming stale right now and there're nothing new story-line wise to offer.

I'm sure there're no point of that Noble's aunt will - absouletly no point at all.

It is time for WWE to go in new avenue - and the future is cruiserweights.

Right now, WWE is pretty much screwed up.

in thier defence, it did make me laugh and shows that noble and nidia can still pull off the trailer park gimmick with a dose of originality :D

please WWE put Noble in the Cusierwight diversion. he might not be able to wow us like Ultimo or Rey does, but in tems of promos he's miles ahead of of most (if not all...though i find that hard to beleive) of the cusiers

Nah, release Noble, he is very bland and static, - not very exciting - there are so many things wrong with WWE it is very frustating.

WWE should build the cruiserweight division with exciting wrestlers as well masked wrestlers - because they also can provide exciting matches as well provide the fans with a mystery aura.

Fair nuff, same with me, after all Mr. Y2J is the man of the moment... but I still think the bad bits of Raw outweigh the bad bits of Smackdown... just in no more :P
