What a good question!

 

I'd want a mix of shows, not necessarily all comedy or all drama or whatever. Anyway my choices would be (not in any order):

 

1. Bullseye

2. Minder

3. The A-Team

4. American Gothic (very underrated show, Gary Cole is fantastic in it as is the wee guy who plays Cayleb, even though I probably spelt that wrong)

5. Gundam Wing

6. Late Night Poker

7. Sportscene (yes I would put the Scottish football on in the rest of the UK, we have to watch the English games so let us Scots elsewhere in the UK see our teams, damn you BBC!)

8. Supergran

9. Knight Rider

10. He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe (the old one, although I can't wait for the new one on CNX!)

11. Transformers (again the old one, although Armada on Sky One is quite entertaining)

12. The Mysterious Cities Of Gold

13. Dogtanian

14. Married With Children

15. The Young Ones

16. Bottom

17. Dragonball/Z/GT

18. RAW and SmackDown! (what a cop-out but it had to be said)

19. Chewin' The Fat

20. Only An Excuse (again, something I want to be able to see outside of Scotland to go with Sportscene).

 

That and some films, starting with Slap Shot, The Running Man, Highlander, The Three Amigos, Planes, Trains And Automobiles and The Good, The Bad And The Ugly, would get my channel up and running.

Also I would want to bring back the Comic Strip, they were fantastic especially in the beginning, I would show their stuff like South Atlantic Raiders which I think has only ever been on telly once back in about 88, and other stuff like GLC, Strike, Eat The Rich, Four Men In A Car, The Bullshitters, The Supergrass and Detectives On The Verge Of A Nervous Breakdown. They did some cack stuff as well but a lot of the shows they did were really funny. Also, The New Statesman with Rik Mayall was great and I would put that on as well.

I would base it on the Paramount Comedy Channel. With a few additions and changes in timeslots, a comedy channel would be unmissable.
