Your First Wrestling Match?

Ah, remember when it was all just pro wrestling? The first match I can remember was when I was flipping through the channels on a Saturday morning, when I came across a channel that was blaring loud music, sounding like it was from Greece, but there was a crowd of people, a large audience booing at the top of their lungs. Slowly out sauntered Mr. Perfect, along side Bobby the Brian Heenan. Even though it was Perfect against some jobber, I was hooked. Seeing the Perfectplex, listening to Vince McMahon rave about Perfect's unbeaten streak, made Curt Hennig myfavorite wrestler to date. What about everyone else, what was their first match, or glimpse of professional wrestling???

Can't remember my first match it was sometime in 92 it will have been Superstars or Wrestling Challenge those were the days then my interest grew when Summerslam 92 came around it was my 1st PPV and a great PPV it was I still remember Bret Vs Bulldog as one of the greatest match ever

the first match i ever watched was the British Bulldog Vs. Bret Hart at summerslam(dont remember which year).

Hmm.... to be honest I think mine was the Royal Rumble match from 1990... my older brother had it on tape, and I remember being very young and loving the Royal Rumble so much that I started watching Superstars etc... my older brother already watched it and so I was easily hooked :D

 

Wierd how as a young child I really could get scared/feel pure hatred for some of the bad guys... in particular the Macho King... he scared me as a child you know!

 

And also... Chris, poor you... having to start watching in 1995... how in the blue hell did you get hooked then? It's insane! :P

That would be SummerSlam 1992 which took place from the Wembley Stadium in London before a sold out crowd of 80,355 which is WWF/E largest paid attendance to this day. (And WrestleMania III doesn't count!)

 

As for my first match - it could have been Hulk Hogan against Earthquake at SummerSlam 1990 - but I can't really remember my first wrestling match......

I am not sure of the first match i watched, but i know it was when wrestling was being shown on itv on a saturday afternoon. i think it was wcw but it was quite a while ago.

The first tape I ended up watching was a Best of Ultimate Warrior tape :)

 

Well thats the first memory I have of watching wrestling, could have been something else, but I still remember Warrior putting Heenan in the weasel suit.

 

From then on, me and my brothers just got hold of any WWF tapes we could. It must have been from around 1990ish. And I havent stopped watching since.

it mustve been around 90/91ish, me mate gave me some WWF stickers on the way to school (probably ones he'd already got the cheap ass) I remember stickers of demolition and that, then in the playground everyone was playing wrestling and everyone wanted to be legion of doom, soon enough my auntie was taping me the pay per views cos i didnt have sky then (remember when they were shown on sky movies for sum reason), i remember rumble 91 being the first i saw i think, where shawn micheals had threw marty jannety through brutus's barber shop window splitting up the rockers, flair won the rumble from being no3 when sid vicious turned on hogan (they were the last 3). You cant beat it when your young, you watch through "eyes of innocence", when you know what we know now it takes the shine off most of the wrestlers. Although to me BRET HART WILL ALWAYS BE A HERO!

First event i ever saw was Wrestlemania 6 therefore the first ever match I saw was Rick 'The Model' Martel vs. 'The Birdman' KoKo B Ware :D

 

Ya had to love KoKo's music as well "toot toot toot toot birdmannnnnnn" classic stuff :xyx
