I can't wait for this game to be released, it looks like a hugh improve ment on wrestlemania 18, which in my opinion wasn't that bad, but it wasn't that great either.

I'm just wanna know, because this is being made by yukes and aki, will there be those extra wrestlers like on the WCW games on the N64, you know guys like, THQ Man or Kim Chee. I liked using those now and again and I thought it kept the game extra fresh :) So if anyone knows anything about that, let me know :)

AKI have nothing to do with this game.

Yukes is ripping off the AKI engine pretty much to the smallest detail, but officially AKI have a contract with EA to make games for them, and not THQ.

But I do agree that the game looks good. With 90% AKI engine, with about 10% of Yukes/Smackdown! touches, it could well be the best wrestling game to hit the Western side of the world in many years.

I hope this game is better than WM18, which IMO was up-to scratch.

Has any of you got any links to any good sources of info about the game other than IGN!?!

Thanks. :)

Excellent. I wouldn't call it a ripping-off of the engine, as AKI and Yukes have worked together in the past.

I'd prefer to call it a "sharing" of the engine.

CAW

As long as they MASSIVELY overhaul the dire CAW....

I mean come on you couldn't even pick superstars attire....

And one(out of the massive library of 9) of the logos just says "Power".

The state of ring attire still keeps me awake at night....

*Shudder*

It looks fantastic!!!

**May contian spoliers for some fans**

The game was released this week in the US, early reports have been mixed indeed, some good some bad. Overall general feeling is that the game is some what better than the last Wrestlemania installment for the GameCube, however the game doesn't come close to Smackdown 4.

Any US fans got the game, any thoughts?

My copy was sent from the US Yesterday so I should get it sometime next week, I am not sure if I will play this game in 'Story Mode' because I don't think it will be any good but I will mainly play it in Multiplayer mode like I did with Wrestlemania X8.

Revenge Mode is meant to be good fun...but it's not like any season mode on past wrestling games...think of it a WWE's version of Streets of rage

this makes me less excited to get the game :(

Okay got my copy a few days ago and this is my views on it.

Great :D It's a million times better then W18, it is a total cross between the N64 Games and smackdown 4.

The revenge mode is different yes, but i find it a way to get away from a normal wrestling game and battle back stage, it can be very entertaining, it should be checked out before putting it down :)

Just a few complaints, alot of the wrestlers have their old music, kane, Matt Hardy (Although he does have his entrance and matt facts, which rules). I would have also liked to seen more types of matches put in, the matches are the same that are on W18.

Overall I will give this game:

Gameplay: 7

Graphics: 8

Lastablitly: 7

Sound: 6

7/10

Like Stevie I also got my copy the over day and I must say I am impressed with it.

I would agree with Stevie that it is a cross between the AKI N64 Games and the Smackdown! Series and it works really well. Joint Injuries are in there so if you work on a leg for a while your opponent begins to limp around the ring.

I am not sure if I like the way specials are used yet, in WMX8 you had to work to get your yellow bar and then you could hit your move out of the blue on your opponent, but with WMXIX you have to get the yellow bar and then charge your special up (kinda like No Mercy) before you get to hit it. It's not so bad when your playing the computer but when you play with mates, the charging up gives them a warning of what is coming up so they are constantly hold of the reversal button making it near impossible to hit your special on them :mad

I personally don't like the Revenge mode but I am playing through it with Chris Benoit (because he is that damn good) just to get some cash for the ShopZone.

It's a shame about the superstars music's again some have their proper musics and some either have re-hashed versions or their older theme's.

Kane has his old theme instead of his newish one

The Dudleys have their original theme instead of 'Bombshell'

Matt Hardy has a rehash :( but he does have the V1 Media Player entrance though which is very cool.

RVD has his original WWE music that was used during the inVasion.

Randy Orton comes down to the non-worded Evolution theme.

Christian has the 2nd Version of his Opera one

Victoria's is also a rehash.

I think that is all the musics that aren't real or up to date but they're not really important.

Gameplay wise I love it well worth the look

I am going to give it 7/10 as well or if you watch that crappy Sky 1 show it get's 3 G's
