John Lee, the drummer for Feeder has been found dead at his home. He commited suicide.

 

I liked Just a day, it's a real shame and a real waste of life.

i heard it on Radio 1 cos i have been off school with a sever migraine. After hearing that i tell you i felt much worse. R.I.P Jon Lee :(

Terrible news, possibly the best british band of this time has lost a major part.

I just typed out this long reply to this post but when I tried to post it the stupid page could not be displayed. Typical. Well, I'll keep it short this time.....

 

Today is a very sad day. It marks a huge loss for me, the people of Newport (where I live and where Jon is from) and for Feeder fans all over the world. Obviously, being a local lad I was so proud of Jon and his accomplishments. He may be gone but his music will live on.....

At least Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix had the decency to choke on their own vomit. Plus, Richie James left us with so much intrigue. Dave Gahan from Depeche Mode flatlined after a heroine overdose as well.

 

What were the circumstances surrounding it all anyway, someone told me it was something along the lines of Michael Hutchence or however that friggen loser spelled his name.

What...more distasteful than having lots of money, plus fame and still feeling the need to leave a wife and kids to deal with you being selfish and commiting suicide.

I'm sure gfordon brown is a wealthy man, but i sure bet he feels like shit at the moment, i'm sorry but you've really gone down in my estimation.

Well that's understandable, Gordon Brown's newborn child has just died, John Lee had a lot going for him and not too many traumatic experiences lately.

Well the only other explanation is that he was mentally ill or emotionally frail. Either way, I'm not shedding any tears for him, it's his family that deserves the sympathy.

Of course I have a private life, that's why I'm not going into too much detail on the subject of suicide.

 

But like Dean said, what was so bad about this Feeder guys life. He had everything, I'm not going to look for reasons but it wouldn't surprise me if there are gambling debts or something along those lines involved...

 

My comments were hardly distasteful anyway...

 

Jim Morrison etc are all geniuses and everyone talks about the fact they are great people who took it too far. If you ask this guys wife how she feels I doubt she'll give a crap about me not exactly being riddled with pain and anguish.

 

It's not even understandable... I mean Kurt Cobain had the pressure of the fans etc, Richie James had idiots cutting themselves and sending him knives plus pictures and videos of them cutting themselves.

For all you know he could have been a manic depressive like i believe Richie James was he could have been told that he had a couple of months to live, anything like that. You don't know anything about his life or what he was like at all do you?

Tsu - are you some kind of sicko? Do you find death to be a joke, or some kind on contest on who can die in the coolest way? For Christ's sake this is a guy's life we are talking about. Do you have any idea what was going on in his head, or even in his life for that matter? Sometimes if you are looking in from the outside it can seem that a particular person has everything they could ever want but it doesn't always work out like that.

 

Geez, do you have one compassionate born in your entire body? You don't have to moan and whine and be cynical about everything you know. Bad attempts at humour are one thing but the guy isn't even cold in his grave yet for crying out loud show some compassion!

People who commit suicide and leave family members behind to deal with it don't derserve any compassion. Their selfish act couldn't be any more cruel to the people who love them...

 

I'm sure the truth will all come out in due course.

 

Sas, do you know what was going on in his life or his head...answer, no of course not! So we are left with the facts.

 

Current facts are that he was famous, succesful and had a wife and kid...Will you personally write to that kid and say "Your daddy committed suicide, but i'm sure it was for a really good reason"???

I think its very sad that someone gets to the stage in life when they want to go against basic human instinct in wanting to hurt themselves. While I don't really agree with the way Tsu put some of his points earlier, I agree with him on the point that suicide is a selfish act. The guy left behind a wife and child and it is them I feel so sorry for.
