Kazaa, Morpheus, Gnutella etc

Bad news for anyone who uses Morpheus, KaZaA or the Gnuttella p2p MP3 downloads servers, courts throughout America and Europe have oredered all file-sharing networks to be closed or face a hefy fine of about £12,000 each DAY they remain open.:evil

 

 

So far, Morpheus seems to still be up and running, I don't know about KaZaA but it seems they're facing the same legal action as Napster did before. Which seriously sucks.

 

 

Best get downloading before free MP3's become history. :cry

Morpheus is decentralised (or something) it doesn't have one dedicated mainframe server (according to PC Format) so it can;t be shut down apparantly.

Perfection, I don't think you'd lose your songs etc. You just wouldn't be able to download anymore. I've still got all my Napster stuff even though it's closed down.

I dont think thats it true that kazaa is nt woking or it is fined anyways, though i m working on it & itz going fine....STOP SPREADING THESE RUMORS FOR GOD SAKE PLZ.

Well, according to several people, Audio Galaxy has been shut down after failing to filter songs which they were ordered to add, in particular new/latest released album tracks, that sort of thing.

 

If your looking for a decent P2P service, I would recommend the new version or Morpheus, Version 1.9. They had a lot of problems in their preview edition, as in 20 min connection times, failing downloads bal bla bla. All these have been sorted out, and 1.9 is actually a lot better and more reliable that the original Morpheus software.
