UFC 209 SEMI-MAIN EVENT OFF DUE TO KHABIB'S WEIGHT CUTTING ISSUES

The Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Tony Ferguson fight scheduled for tomorrow night in Las Vegas, one of the most anticipated fights of the early part of 2017, is off due to weight cutting issues with Nurmagomedov.

Nurmagomedov was hospitalized in Las Vegas while cutting weight and had until 11 a.m. local time to get on the scales and weigh-in. Doctors wouldn't allow him to fight and he failed to weigh-in. Given the procedure of putting someone on fluids when issues are with dehydration, it makes it almost impossible in those situations for the fighter to be able to make weight.

All other fights on the show are official. At this moment, it is not clear which undercard fight will be moved to the PPV.

Nurmagomedov vs. Ferguson was scheduled as a five-round fight for the interim lightweight title, with a shot at Conor McGregor at least in theory going to the winner. It was the number two bout for UFC 209, behind the Tyron Woodley vs. Stephen Thompson main event for the welterweight title.

  2. I remember years ago when seeing some of the TWO gang in London and mentioning to Rob that Khabib after his debut was going to go places. I believe he will win this weekend at UFC 209. He is the only one I see that can give Conor a run for his money
  3. Meltzer is further saying there is something to this story going about

PWInsider.com is reporting WWE is close to finalizing a deal that would see Insane Championship Wrestling air on WWE Network.

The deal would reportedly be a multi-year deal for content from the Glasgow, Scotland based promotion; it is unknown if it would be for live or taped content. A verbal agreement is reportedly in place, and it could be finalized and announced as soon as this week

  4. Alright. For those who were around during wcws final days. Would you put this as far worse than what they went through or on par?

Jesus Christ. Running that place is a poisoned chalice

  5. Just when you think it can't get any more embarrassing

According to PWInsider.com, TNA President Billy Corgan filed a lawsuit against Impact Wrestling, parent company Impact Ventures LLC, TNA Chairman Dixie Carter, TNA Chief Financial Officer Dean Broadhead and Dixie’s husband Serg Salias in Chancery Court in Nashville on Wednesday
  6. Cheerio cheerio cheerio!

According to WZ’s Justin LaBar, sources are reporting WWE will be purchasing the TNA video library.

Furthermore, Billy Corgan is going to become the new majority owner and is expected to rebrand TNA into a new company.

We will have more information when it becomes available.

This news is released only two days after reports surfaced that Dixie Carter addressed the locker room before the Impact taping Monday night

  7. Corgan has/had his own Wrestling Company didn't he though?

He with 2 brothers started resistance pro wrestling but he left after a year.

Cody isn't under a contract with TNA so he won't be affected when he has the indies

Corgans espn interview was quite intriguing. He strikes me as being very open and honest with his thoughts on the situation.

Today is d-day from what reports are saying. We may very well find out if another one bites the dust or saved at the last minute. Some are saying wwe are very confident in a last minute deal and letting them run BFG and their TV tapings

  8. Here's more info

TNA could be sold to WWE in the coming days

The big story today (and potentially the big story of the year) is the finaincial situation with TNA. Dave Meltzer noted on today’s Wrestling Observer Radio that TNA Wrestling needs money by the end of this week so that they can run their Bound For Glory pay-per-view. They also need money to fund next week’s TV tapings. If they can’t come up with the money then the company is likely done.

Billy Corgan is still trying to purchase the company but there are so many hurdles that he needs to jump through in order to get a deal done. The company has tons of debt. Wrestlers, vendors, Aroluxe Marketing and Eric Bischoff’s company is owed money. Bischoff-Hervey Enteratainment is in the middle of a lawsuit over unpaid money for services rendered during their last few months in TNA.

Perhaps, the most interesting thing to come out is that WWE is in the picture as a potential buyer. As early as today, WWE is considered to be in the mix. Unfortunately for TNA, if Dixie Carter sells to WWE then it would likely signal the end for TNA because WWE is interested in the tape library for on demand content on the WWE Network and footage for home video releases.

It’s a real shame that things have boiled down to this because the wrestling business needs more alternatives. I guess the fate of TNA will be decided this weekend. Billy Corgan will be on Sirius XM’s Busted Open Radio on Wednesday afternoon (3pm eastern) to talk about the rumors going around. We will have a recap here on PWSlam.com.

  9. Caught it last weekend and must say with a couple of editing problems and some cheesy script lines. I really enjoyed it. I don't understand the hate for it at all. Easily better than batman vs superman.

Will smiths best film for a few years and Margot Robbie continues to be a Hollywood star in the making with an awesome performance as Harley Quinn

And agreed with belty. They surely have to do next batman film with those two as the baddies.

  10. Pro Wrestling Sheet has learned that many of the wrestlers competing in theCruiserweight Classic have been offered WWE contracts … but one big name couldn’t accept the deal quite yet.

Multiple sources tell us Zack Sabre Jr. was recently offered a contract. However, the young wrestler couldn’t sign it at this point in time due to a personal matter.

Good news though, we’ve learned he’s expected to take them up on the offer sometime next year.

Additionally, one well-placed source says contract offers have also been extended to TJ Perkins, Cedric Alexander, Noam Dar and Akira Tozawa. If all goes to plan, they’ll report for duty in September-October.

According to PWTorch, Kota Ibushiand Gran Metallik have inked deals as well. Ibushi has since done an interview though saying he hasn’t signed on the dotted line yet.

And lastly, tweets from Johnny Gargano and Tommasso Ciampa seem to suggest that both will soon be exclusive to WWE after finishing up their final indie appearances this summer.

  11. An extraordinary xylophone, a lovely violin, and a dilapidated boat.

The dilapidated boat was brilliant! :lol

It was Jeremy borash who oversaw production and directing duties but dixies idea of something new. The hardys both did some improvising.

As bad as it looked. The overall reaction has been positive, especially towards Matt. Even wrestling observer enjoyed it! Record viewings for tna. It is an example of it was that bad it worked perfectly for theme. This could very well make Matt an main eventers in TNA that people would be enjoy. One of those times a risky gamble paid off
