  1. A training partner can either be a motivation or distraction, depending on how you look at it. I believe in setting my training schedule and strictly being adherent unless there are unavoidable circumstances. Before seeking out a partner, you have to be accountable to yourself!
  2. I think mobile gaming has become popular since gamers cannot be at a specific place all the time. Desiring to game on the move could explain why some of them do so on their phones and tablets. Future game developers should consider having mobile game versions.
  3. The tempo in the 2020-2021 EPL season is so exciting, and I can't wait for the international break to come and go. In my opinion, Everton and Aston Villa are the most improved teams.
  4. Do you remember when this movie came out, and everyone was talking about it? I remember watching it when almost everyone had done so. I was a Harrison Ford fan and watched every movie in which he starred. This movie was a commercial success, going on to gross about $370 million against a $44 million budget.

    The trailer

  5. I've watched so much telly that I'm running out of good programmes to binge. I've worked my way through Stranger Things, and if you haven't seen it, you should check it out, especially if you're into sci-fi/mystery type stuff. Now I'm working my way through Alone, which is a survival series that's also quite good.

I am slowly getting my rhythm back and would love animation movies (somehow, I never tire of these) recommendations, and you seem like the best person to suggest. Do you have any bias for a particular genre?

  6. Honestly, I haven't been able to watch anything in a long time. How is it possible to do a lot more when there is little time at our disposal? Are we naturally wired to work under pressure?
  7. @KaliR , it looked like a mix of covering up, not wanting to spook the local population too much, and carefully timing announcements based on what other countries were saying and doing.

Perhaps it was also a way to instill confidence and avoid the postponement of the Olympics. In coming out, the government could have been doing some damage control. Its priorities shifted to ensuring COVID-19 was tackled and managed effectively.

  8. Forget my naivety, but how does the company behind Zoom generate revenue when the majority of users access it for free? I see how inconveniencing it can be to get kicked out after 40 mins. Would you trust this app when holding classified discussions?
  9. Joker, hands down won for me. 1917 was great, but I didn't see it until 2020. I'll watch it again for certain. My wife loved Little Women, I skipped that.

You know I thought that by staying at home, I was going to a lot of things I wouldn't normally do, like watching countless movies. It turns out I am doing so well in this department. What else have you watched this year?

  10. Back in November 2015, Tyson Fury dethroned Wladimir Klitschko then started battling substance abuse and depression shortly after. He was able to bounce back and dethrone Deontay Wilder to claim the WBC Heavyweight title. Perhaps his willingness to discuss the mental health issues led to the comparison to the late Muhammad Ali, who openly talked about racial injustice.
  11. On the one hand, there is resentment by WWE towards the two-time champion, and on the other, a contingent of fans still hoping that he will step back into the ring one day. For how long this goes is anyone's guess. Nonetheless, it would have been awesome to see Roman Reigns face Goldberg at Wrestlemania 36.
  12. Jodi Picoult has been writing for the longest time (her debut novel Songs of the Humpback Whale came out in 1992), but I feel embarrassed that I haven't read any of her works. I will challenge myself with one of her books before the end of next month. I can't think of any favorite authors as yet, and my current read is Oliver Kitteridge by Elizabeth Strout.
  13. What is everyone's thoughts on the sign stealing of the Astros? I can't believe more players aren't being punished as they come out and apologize for cheating. I'm a Yankees fan and I think that more should happen to the players.

Coming out and admitting to it shows remorse, but it doesn't mean that anyone should escape punishment. Doing this sets a bad precedent and encourages other players that they can get away with it. What happened to sportspeople espousing honesty and professionalism?

  14. The much I know about the TV Show is that R R Martin was not just a scriptwriter and producer, but also a creative consultant as well. I had no idea that he was neither a creator nor a director, so thanks for that clarification @Jack. I have not read the books yet, but I agree with you that reading them in order will help keep the storyline intact.
  15. My parents never celebrated their birthdays and didn't throw anything for their kids. I just followed suit. I was jealous for a while of classmates and friends who had birthday parties all throughout their childhoods.

I can picture how it must have felt seeing your friends celebrate their birthdays. Did they taunt you frequently? I was having a chat with a few friends who mentioned that birthdays have never been about big celebrations but about taking stock and evaluating themselves.

  16. @coleman The story is loosely based on a real prison escape in the 1950s. The guy was on the run for 50+ years before getting caught.

I loved how the director showed the prisoners making their own community, but it was also really sad seeing the older ones struggling to adjust once they got back into the "real" world. I connected to that sadness of starting new in a new place, missing friends you saw regularly.

You are right. Confinement is usually the beginning of many changes that take place in a person's life. I like Andy Dufresne's presence in the whole movie, and how the plot takes many turns, from the beginning. Would you have figured out the wrong accusation?

  17. I'm going to wait until most of the predictions are in and then go with the underdog at that point. Tyson will be the underdog before the fight. That's my prediction.

Tyson is always the underdog. I think we tend to judge boxers by their personalities outside of the ring. I am hoping that it doesn't end in a KO!

  18. I don't think I could last at a book club. Even when I'm reading for fun, I either get obsessed and read the book overnight – or get through maybe a few pages a week.

It took a lot of convincing for me to join one. I belong to one where discussions take place online. It is more tasking when it becomes mandatory to meet at a physical location.

  19. Is it possible for a hacker to decide to target your home network, break into your wifi access and hijack stuff? Yes. Is it likely? Absolutely not. It's not worth the effort it'd take them to gain access to your stuff.

I have had this discussion before, and the same point was highlighted. Why would a hacker target a home network if there was nothing to be gained from this?
