  1. she married her step-grandfather because that's the only way she could take over the family business.

That's been a tradition in the richest bloodlines in the world for centuries. Wanna keep your money? Keep everything in the family.

I would consider watching it for that angle alone.

  2. This might be because of the Coronavirus. Construction stopped or slowed, inventories went up, mills laid off workers then.........BAM construction picked up again. The other industries are trying to catch up but in the meantime, inventories are low enough to warrant the spike in prices.
  3. Does anyone use these? If so, do you know if the tech. is advancing according to projections?

Call me boring, but I would like to get one to play chess with against a computer program. Like a Deep Blue type competition in VR.

  4. If you get the kit right in the first instance, then a monkey could basically do it... or a small child, since that's who actually does do it for most electronics manufacturers.

    LOL........That was harsh.

You're right though. We tend to overthink these things. I guess if they're new only a NASA scientist could figure it out, right? When mainly new tech. is a variation of the previous generation of that same tech.

  5. The last 10 years of my life have stood in direct contrast to what the country itself has gone through.

The Decade Of Diversion though. The media seems to divert peoples' attention from what needs to be done to fix the country by giving us fluff pieces.

  6. It's a good movie because it's representative of a segment of society that people don't like to talk about, face and fix. It makes some people uncomfortable and squirm in their seats. I LOVE movies like that and I love this movie.
  7. I think it's a good thing to keep active because it has that old school quality about it. Sometimes, things are worth keeping around because they really are useful. Look at it like the original social media experience.
  8. One of the big questions I'm rolling around in my head is who's the bigger parasite, the struggling Kim family who really wants the wealthy lifestyle — or the very rich Park family, who use the poor's labor and doesn't notice what they go through?

Both. I think that might be the message the director was trying to get across. This is definitely a movie I'll take time out to see.

  9. A dirty bomb on either homeland or civilian assets however seems implausible

Implausible, but oh so easy with drones. That list, or one similar, was posted on social media earlier by a member of the Iranian government. This is how wars, or proxy wars rather, are fought nowadays. High tech sneakery.

Let's not let a couple of dipshit idiots ruin the whole world for nothing (or, very little, at least).

Well said. We need to find a way to get regular folks into the top positions.

  10. I think it's foolish to believe America is un-assailable.

Agreed. I'm sure they have enough money just to pay someone(s) to perform a drone strike in America, (set the drone up) and pay the Chinese to carry it out from China.

They have walked away from the uranium agreement, so they're back on their way to developing nuclear weapons it would seem.

I think it's more that people like them just want the option of doing it. Trying and succeeding are two different animals in this case.

  11. Does anyone know if it's streaming on Netflix? I would like to see it some point. I spent last night re-watching Black Snake Moan (If you haven't seen it, you really should. I've seen it 3 times now) and Marriage Story sounds like a light-hearted reprieve from the heavy stuff.
  12. It's sabre rattling on their part. What the majority of that population may want does not necessarily jibe with what their military is capable of doing. If that were the case, Israel would have been dust a long time ago.

They're not going to do anything. The emotions will subside and they'll get over it.

  13. The part of the future I get concerned about is my future. I'm concerned there won't be enough time to make sure my younger family members have a good deal left to them from me when I pass on. It gives me a restless feeling, as if I'm running out of time.
