  1. Yep, completely one-sided fight. Paulie couldn't do anything against the jab, got beat to the punch, and didn't have the power to hurt Khan. Only thing this fight has me sold on, though, is Khan's speed. Paulie is easily the most feather-fister upper-tier fighter out there, and the question on Amir isn't his speed or power, but his chin. His mandatory is Maidana, who is the biggest puncher in the division, but I think Amir can hit him at will. Maidana will never relent, though. It's definitely a tough fight for him.

I think Khan is good enough to beat Devon Alexander, but Timothy Bradley is the man in this division. Regardless, what Khan said is what needs to occur. A 140lb title eliminator. Khan/Maidana winner against the winner of Bradley/Alexander.

  2. O I C.

Watch Froch v Pascal, that fight alone should get peoples respect, as well as never ducking a challenge unlike that fraud you hold in such high regard. Im guessing you are a typical American who cant give any English fighter credit and thinks just because a fighter comes from U.S.A they are automatically brilliant.

Lennox Lewis is my favorite fighter of all time, I've met no bigger Naseem Hamed mark than myself, and I was the only person I knew as a kid who knew of and respected Calzaghe, Sven Ottke, Michalczewski, Anthony Mundine, Jirov, and I've been a Danny Green fan ever since the video of him frustrating James Toney in a sparring session to the point of Toney and his camp leaving the gym hit the internet eons ago.

    NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXTTTTTTTTTT

I dont know how he has been 'exposed' 3 times at all. As for Andre Ward? Never fought anyone of sufficient quality (bar Kessler) for you to make such dumb claims. Dirrell sprinted away from Froch like Usain Bolt, he only exposed himself to be a pussy. You clearly know shit all.

Ward faced a massive step-up in quality when he faced Kessler. Want to know why? With Calzaghe's move to 175, Mikkel Kessler automatically became the best fighter in the world at 168. And what did Ward do? He outclassed him. Kessler had absolutely nothing Ward for all night. It wasn't a close fight.

What does Carl Froch do better than Kessler? Hit harder...that's it.

He's slower, has has no head movement, an average jab, and no depth to his arsenal.

All Pascal has done since is beat Diaconu twice (who himself has been proven to be more than questionable) and two journeymen. I'll see if he can do anything against Chad Dawson before giving him any sort of credit, because as of now, Pascal is still all hype.

And Dirrell made it evident that when someone stays at home and boxes Froch (like Taylor did until he characteristically collapsed), he has no answer. Dirrell spent too much time on his bike and thought he could coast to a decision in someone's home town. It was an awful decision on his part, which he rectified against Abraham by delivering a more focused attack. Now, Froch gets outboxed by Kessler. Surely you can see the ongoing theme here. He has no talents beyond swinging for the fences. He has heart and a good punch, that's it. He'll never beat an elite fighter in his life.

  3. Carl Froch is a terrible f*cking fighter. Jesus Christ, save yourself all future anguish and hop off of his bandwagon. Joe Calzaghe could come out of retirement right and school him. Do not forget Froch only has any respect because he beat Jermaine Taylor, who had already twice had his soul taken from him by Kelly Pavlik. The same Jermaine Taylor who doesn't know how to close a fight. The same Jermaine Taylor that put Froch on his ass and was winning the fight until he collapsed again.

He, easily, is the worst fighter in the Super 6. Wherever he fights Abraham, Abraham will win. Andre Dirrell exposed Carl Froch as a mindless mauler who cannot do anything other than head hunt, and the ego he has despite really accomplishing nothing is staggering. It's not about him being English, it's about him not being that good. Seriously. Carl Froch will not be discussed as a serious anything in a years time. He's been exposed three times already, and finally had someone who stuck in down the stretch to hand him his loss. He should be stoked he's not scheduled to fight Andre Ward, as he wouldn't win a single round.

  4. This Sunday, Sun Life Stadium in Florida stages an extravaganza featuring a rock concert by the Who, singing performances by Queen Latifah and Carrie Underwood, flypasts, fireworks....oh yeah and an NFL game.

I fancy New Orleans for the win

Damn, I live down the road from the thing and I didn't even know the Stadium's name changed again.

  5. What makes me most positive about this movie are the people involved. Nelson, Cooper, and Copley are each talented actors. Rampage is a great casting job. He has the physique, and his own weirdly violent, unique demeanor. He won't do a Mr. T impersonation, but if their goal is to kick off a new series of movies, he's a great choice as B.A. Also, Joe Carnahan did a great job with Narc, and I thought Smokin' Aces was a fantastic action movie.
  6. I would just like to point out that this is a lesser Arlovski than we have seen in recent years, released from the UFC as he was not up to standard and yet he was beating Fedor to every punch.

All because Arlovski made a stupid, amatuer mistake is the only reason he got tagged.

    Fedor was rocked.

This was he most recent fight also.

Compare Lesnars and Fedors two recent fights taking into consiteration the quality of opponents and the way they finished their fights. Now you cant really say Fedor can win.

Jesus Christ you know NOTHING about what you're talking about.

Do you know who Freddie Roach is?

ONE OF THE GREATEST BOXING TRAINERS EVER

Do you know who AA's boxing coach has been since he LEFT the UFC?

    Freddie Roach.

He's never been a better fighter since he left. The AA we see now would've never lost to Tim Sylvia as he has gotten better with his already great hands. What we saw in the Fedor match was one of the few guys in MMA with quite possibly championship quality boxing skills outboxing someone.

Do you think Brock, with his limited boxing skills, could do that? Seriously man, you don't have even the smallest grasp of the fight game. If Brock and Fedor fought, Brock would shoot for a takedown ASAP.

Take into considerations their last two fights? You mean the part where Fedor made the UFC HW division from 2003-2007 look like a complete joke?

If you honestly believe Lashley is the only person who can beat Fedor, you're quite obviously a wrestling mark with little grasp of actual combat sports spewing sh*t indiscriminately.

He isn't. Douglas outboxed Tyson before stopping him.

Something a lot of people like to ignore. Douglas comprehensively beat Tyson. He worked his jab and threw nice combos all night, and when Tyson finally did get to him, he had the chin and heart to get back up and go to work.

I find Fedors weak point is he is taken down (relatively) easily, normally its not a big issue as he can slap on a submission from underneath, but Brocks strength in wrestling and his sheer size would, I believe, be able to stop Fedor from getting that good position. Thats not something Big Nog or Cro Cop could do.

During the PRIDE days, Fedor v Nog, Fedor v Cro-Cop, Fedor v Wandy, and Fedor v Barnett were the matches I looked forward to seeing the most. He beat the beast HW submissionist twice, beat a man who was probably the best standing HW in Mirko. A win over Barnett would be the final test so to speak; a world class wrestler. F*ck him and his steroids.

  8. The WWE Raw guest host concept scored a Variety article that was published on Sunday. The article notes that WWE has either booked or is in talks with a long list of celebrities to host future shows. Here's a list of the celebrities mentioned in the article: [Thanks to Dot Net reader Zachary Heath]

    -Bob Barker.

    -Al Sharpton.

    -Nancy O'Dell.

    -Floyd Mayweather.

-Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy.

    -Ashlee Simpson.

    -The Osbournes.

    -Danny DeVito.

    -Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa.

    -Jimmy Fallon.

    -Rachel Ray.

    -MC Hammer.

    -Woody Harrelson.

    -Serena Williams,

    -Ashton Kutcher.

Powell's POV: That's an impressive list of potential guest hosts. There are rumblings that Mayweather could return for the upcoming show in Las Vegas, but nothing is confirmed. You can check out the Variety article at Variety.com.

    That list is f*cking powerful.

  9. Yes but if Fedor comes to the UFC he will get straight into fighting Lesnar. I think he should have to climb the ladder aswell.

Climb the ladder...for what? To prove he's the best heavyweight in the world? He has been for the past six years.

What ladder did Brock climb? His first fight in the UFC was against a former champion...which he lost. His second fight was against a journeyman, and his third fight was for the championship. He got a title match with a 1-1 UFC record. Exactly what ladder did he climb?

  10. I never said he had ko power, but he can box!

So landing, quite literally, two punches means you can box now? Sticking someone with their hands down with a haymaker and popping a jab =/= boxing ability...and that's all Brock did in the Herring fight.

What Brock does is by no stretch of the imagination boxing. Most MMA fighters, even guys with deadly stand-up, are terrible boxers. Ditto Fedor. It's why AA (who had some of the best hands even before), schooled by Freddie Roach, was so effective against him. Fedor is, however, lethal and much smarter with his hands than the average and throws punches in bunches. He's also quick and a monster capitalist (slightly ironic?). When he sees an opening to hit you, he'll hit you, and he'll hit you 2-3 times because he's fast enough.

Brock's standup is an obvious work in progress, but that's because it needs work. As I said, if he learns to box properly, it's game over. Boxing is the singular most effective stand-up discipline in MMA.

  11. Fedor would beat Lashley now for the same reason he'd beat Brock. Zero standup game. Neither of them would get a chance to take him down. He's much too quick with his hands.

Quite honestly, I think Brock needs to spend the majority of his time working on his boxing. He's already arguably the best wrestler in all of MMA. Once he has a discernable standup game, the world is finished.

  12. Just dropped $85 reupping on some fresh whites. Been relying on my black & white Addidas too much, and despite how classy they may be, not even all white Air Max's match the charisma of some classic Air Force 1's.

  13. Dana is now losing his mind. Has buried Fedor for nearly half the conference, followed by noting that he HAS to make the fight happen, followed by more burial and saying he offered them an ASSLOAD of money and that Fedor can work sambo fights every Thursday for all he cares now. Seems that Dana is so close to getting Fedor that he just can't let go and will probably push even harder now to make it happen. It's that McMahon "the more I can't have you, the more I want you" mentality.

From what he's said about the issue, I think Fedor is just fundamentally against going to the UFC. Dana likes control. To be in the UFC now you have to sign a lifetime likeness deal, which is why Sylvia, AA, and Mirko (wasn't in the company at the time, ditto Tito) are in the UFC game despite not being in the UFC. For a guy who wants to do things with a company he has stake in (M1) as well as compete in just about anything he wants, the all inclusive nature of a UFC deal just can't be appealing.

Not to mention, Fedor doesn't NEED it. A fighter will never got more money in the US than in Japan.

Also, Strikeforce has an alliance with both M1 and DREAM, with Fedor announced for their show in October. It really wouldn't make sense for him to go to the UFC when he has other companies giving him everything he wants.

Seriously? You don't think there's a chance that Carwin could knock him out, Nogueira could submit him or Velasquez could take his best shots, gas him out & grind out a decision? Outside the UFC, Brett Rogers would have a shot at knocking him out, and Fedor... well, take your pick from the above. Not that it's been evident on TWO (thankfully), but I find all this "Fedor is ducking Lesnar" talk absolutely laughable.

In honesty, of the five divisions in the UFC, I see Lesnar as the most vulnerable divisional champion (which is more about the calibre of the other four than a knock on Lesnar).

Can't agree there. Light-Heavy is the deepest division in the UFC, with heavyweight (as always in the UFC) being the weakest. He just ate Mir, Randy is never beating him in a million years, and Big Nog can't see. Everyone else in the division is right around Tim Sylvia status, a clear notch below.
