  1. I'll mention this in my review, but according to the "factoids" USA aired during the commercials, the show takes place between the first and second movies.
  2. Mostly. Mr. Mercedes is skipping past the second book (and taking more of the third) in the Bill Hodges trilogy for this new season, but 11/22/63 was pretty close to the book, as I recall.
  3. I am and I'll be yelling about it soon over on Cult. I don't think there will be a crossover any time soon, since the shows ended up being at two different properties and TPTB have said that they want them to establish their own separate identities for now.
  4. Wow, that's so sweet and made my heart grow at least a size larger. And yes, I was being fuzzy about churches because I didn't know if it were a spoiler, but I do remember at least one scene taking place in a church. As for the timeline, who knows? But yes, according to the announcement, level 10 leaders are immune.
  5. Well, I'm not Asian, so I can't speak to the cultural aspects with any authority. At its heart, I guess it's just a romcom, but because of its cast, it means something more. Like, Asian men are rarely cast as romantic interests or even just as hot dudes, and in CRA, there are several thirst trap moments with Asian men. That sounds like damning with faint praise, but if you rarely get to see people who look like you, it's kind of a big deal. Anyway, I enjoyed it. And I think the world is kind of starved for romcoms lately, as they fell out of favor. But judging by the popularity of CRA and Netflix's To All the Boys I've Loved Before, we'll see some more soon.
  6. If you like more of the unknown than the horror, then you might like his 11/22/63. It was also adapted into a series, by the way.
  7. I teared up at the stuff with Rachel's mom. And probably some other parts, but that's what I remember the most.
  8. There are some places and people that are exempt. Churches, I don't think so. Nursing homes, I'm not sure, but probably, since hospitals are.
  9. I knew enough about myself not to wear mascara when I went to see it.
  10. Exactly! Like, it was wrong for Ryan to publish her poem, but to put part of her death on him for that is beyond the pale.
  11. I believe I'm on record as not a fan.
  12. His daughter Evelyn is in the comics, but I think he was invented for the show. I love the detail in the casting notice that "an actor with ‘90’s-2000’s pop-culture cachet is a plus." Is Andrew Keegan too obvious?
  13. EDGAR EVERNEVER. Also, that jalopy does not look safe.
  14. I saw it. It was my first MI movie and by the like, 40th action sequence, I was lit'rally LOLing. Like, this maniac is doing it again [hanging off a mountain, chasing a guy or being chased, jumping off something].
  15. *cut to me levitating with joy for like, a full five minutes* A lot of the second season was just aimless. It felt like they were making it up as they went along, not like they had a structure in mind for it. They would pick up threads and then just drop them for the next thing. For the third season, I'd like to see way less of Hiram and his mob nonsense and way more of...God, literally anything else.
  16. From your mouth to God's ears, I hope. BRING ON THE CULT.
