  3. My hard drive is dying. (That S.M.A.R.T) thing is popping up.

it's a Zoostorm Amd Laptop that I bought on 08/09/10, got it from littlewoods, would I be able to phone them and get it replaced/repaired, or would I need to buy a new hard drive and what would be the best one?

  4. Nintendo president, Satoru Iwata, has announced a brand new 3D-enabled handheld console to succeed its 125 million-selling DS. Incredibly, the new system will work without the need to wear special glasses too.

Mr. Iwata dropped this bombshell during an investor call overnight, during which it was revealed that the 3DS (working title) is scheduled to launch before the end of March 2011. Other details were scant, although Iwata also confirmed that the new handheld will be fully backwards-compatible with existing DS and DSi games. Whether that means they’ll be playable in 3D too remains to be seen.

So how will the 3DS actually work? Alas, we can’t answer that for sure, but we can certainly speculate. Indeed, a recent downloadable DS game for the Japanese market might point the way forward. Entitled “3D Hidden Image,” the game utilises the DSi’s front camera to work out the console’s orientation and adjusts the perspective of the onscreen images accordingly – players then tilt the DSi to locate hidden items. The effect is a convincing sense of depth, rather than the visuals leaping out of the screen, so to speak (see video below).

This may or may not be how the 3DS operates, but it at least demonstrates what’s possible using current technology. We await further developments with great interest. Meanwhile Nintendo is expected to reveal all at the forthcoming E3 tradeshow, which takes place in Los Angeles in June.

  5. A Sunday league player has become the first footballer to be jailed for an on-field offence after a pointless horror-tackle that broke an opponent's leg in two places.

More StoriesToshack: Ramsey in good spirits

Striker Mark Chapman, 20, received a six-month sentence for the tackle from behind on Terry Johnson that effectively put an end to the 26-year-old's chances of playing again.

Chapman, who committed the foul with just seconds left of a game his team Long Lawford were losing 3-1 to the Wheeltappers, admitted the offense at Warwick Crown Court.

"It's ruined my life, I will never be able to play football again," said father-of-two Johnson, who needed a steel rod inserted in his leg after the injury.

Johnson, an electrician, has been unable to work and support his family since Chapman committed the studs-first tackle.

"The ball was running out of play in the Wheeltappers' half and Terry Johnson was shadowing it out of play as it crossed the touchline," said prosecutor Iain Willis.

"The defendant continued to close in and used a stamping motion with a raised right foot, with the studs showing, on the back and side of his right leg.

"The referee said it was a callous deliberate act with intent to cause injury to the player."

Chapman's defence tried to draw parallels with the recent Premier League incident that saw Arsenal youngster Aaron Ramsey suffer a double fracture in a challenge from Stoke's Ryan Shawcross.

But Judge Robert Orme dismissed the similarities and described Chapman's tackle as a "deliberate act, a premeditated act".

"The result of what you did was that Mr Johnson suffered a badly broken leg - it horrified those who saw it," added Judge Orme.

"I accept you showed very early remorse and there is substantial mitigation which can be put forward for you.

"But I have also had to consider the position of the victim and your very deliberate criminal act."

An FA spokesman confirmed it was the first time a footballer had been jailed for an on-field incident.

He said: "It's the first time anyone has been sent to prison for a tackle.

"There have been two cases where people were sent to prison for other incidents on the pitch, but nothing like this."

    Oh dear!

  6. Any ideas?

My son's Indiana Jones 2 disc has a scratch like a circle the whole way around the disc, his sister knocked the shelf that it was on and it made a nasty noice.

It is some part playable, but it jumps and freezes a lot.

    Please help.

  7. An exclusive dating website for attractive people has booted out members for piling on the pounds over Christmas. Skip related content

Related photos / videos Enlarge photo BeautifulPeople.com made more than 5,000 users re-apply after they posted pictures of themselves looking chubbier than usual celebrating the festive season.

Existing members were asked to decide if they were still pretty enough to be part of the website.

Only a few hundred were allowed back in.

The site, which bans so-called "ugly people" and calls itself an "exclusively beautiful community", said it was responding to complaints from its customers.

Founder Robert Hintze said: "As a business, we mourn the loss of any member, but the fact remains that our members demand the high standard of beauty be upheld.

"Letting fatties roam the site is a direct threat to our business model and the very concept for which BeautifulPeople.com was founded."

Managing director Greg Hodge said: "People can be big and beautiful but it doesn't suit everyone. If you join as a size six, or with ripped abs and a slim physique, you have to maintain this look or expect to be re-rated.

"Remember this is the opinion of our members, who have the final and completely democratic vote on who is let in or cast out of their community."

Most of the people who were kicked off the site were from the US, the UK and Canada.

Managers sent them emails encouraging them to reapply when they have slimmed down
