  1. If a forum member goes in chat it's their name, if someone trying to make out it's them unless they put the dot in it would be numbers.

So it wouldn't have been her.

Edit IP address is 209.94.196.170 so if Kam could add it to banned list please

  2. Finally something we agree on :lol alot of so called BIG named players do under perform on the big stage. And i will give Beckham a bit of credit he has played some good games for England and dont get me wrong i do think Beckhams overrated yes but that does'nt mean to say i hav'nt seen him play well in certain matches.

    Yay!!!! :lol

  3. :roll

Joe or whoever can post in this thread and he is not spamming up the place.

I meant if we couldn't reply then all he was doing is spamming.

He said it's his opinion and he doesn't care what we think, then why post in the first place.

I didn't mean it to sound like I was saying he did spam, so I'm sorry to Joe if thats how it sounded.

But if you think about it, alot of "top" players can be called overrated.

Ronaldo - Some people say it about him, even still. And like with you and Beckham. I can see the point. Ronaldo doesn't perform in big games, Milan, Barca, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal.

So yeah, I see the point.

  4. Lean where you like ,i could'nt care less whever you think my opinion is worthless or not its my opinion and you cant take that away from me.I have the right to think whatever the hell i like and i think Beckhams overrated.

So if no one is allowed to reply, don't post in first place then. All you are doing is spamming the place.

  5. never said he was a crap, just overated. i said real didn't missing him on the pitch when they won titles afterwards, so i am not sure what "FACTS" can disprove my "Opinion"

if some one is overrated it is an opinion it can't be proven or disproven by facts, sure he has won alot of stuff but so has HHH and many people hate him

the facts i gave was real winning titles and the loan they had to get reported by the BBC due to the loss of income and the fact that giggs has won more things than beckham. so basically that statement is incorrect please check "Your" facts before posting or at least learn the different between a stone cold fact and an opinion

Bold for finally getting to bottom of it.

So it's not you think Beckham is overrated, you just hate him.

  6. Pele obviously does know what hes talking about but this thread is all about opinion and i would'nt of had Beckham in my top 100 that does'nt mean i think i know more about football than Pele does it.

No, this thread is about Beckham being overrated, which has been proven with facts to be wrong.

If this was about opinions, the first post would have said this.

I think David Beckham is overrated, this is my opinion, here are my reasons. What do you think? and why?

But it doesn't, so this thread is about two people saying Beckham is overrated. And that is a fact!!!

  7. GREAT is the key word here looking back at Beckhams overall carrer i would'nt consider him as great.

So you know more about what makes a great player? What more so then Pele?

Read the list of Beckhams awards, Pele named him in the top 100 GREATEST players

  8. My point is how does all this make him GREAT he came back for the last part of the season and made an impact yes, overall how does this make him a great footballer i cant see how it does.Hesky got back into the England squad because hes hit some form would you consider him great

Has Heskey won the awards Beckham has?

Here is a list of award/titles/cups Beckham has won.

  9. no i am saying beckham show ego at united not so much at real. fegie hates footballers with natural talent who get too big for there boots.

yep i do go and watch them but they are crap, i support united and aberdeen for theglory hunter comments.

    do you support doncaster?

I support Man United, have done since I was 7. And yes I go and watch Doncaster Rovers, just like I used to go to Brentford when I was still at London. (I was on books at Brentford until injured ended that dream)

  10. yes his ego fixed his hamsprings that is a FACT is it, man if you his doctor he would never walk again.

that is because in my opinion he isn't, he was good but he certianly wasn't the best player in the team at the time for giggs, scholes, keane and schmicheal (sp) we all better players

no giggs hasn't the ego of beckham giggs hasn't sat out half a season because he thought he was bigger that the team unlike

    1) Never said Beckham was crap just over rated

    2) Southampton is a city

    3) Southamption FC is crap and always was.

    4) Also a footballers ability is a matter of opinion

no that wasn't what i said about ego he sat out half a season on the sidelines because he thought he was bigger than the team that is ego

His ego stopped him? Thats bollocks. Fergie BANNED him from driving sport cars because a doctor advised it, don't get me wrong I think Giggs will finish as a United Legend.

And when did Beckham sit out because his "ego" was to big? You mean at Madrid? Sorry but thats bollocks to, Beckham WANTED to play. He even wanted to stay, but Madrid wouldn't give him new contract, only to offer LA money to keep him because of how he handled the way he was dropped, and the way he return.

And Southampton, city or not IS your hometown club.

  11. Ryan Giggs has more championship medals than beckham will ever have. Giggs is the better winger and can still do it. Anyone with half decent knowledge of the game would understand beckhams skill is largely smoke and mirrors he is a good free kick taker thats about it. his peak was almost a decade ago

going to the US for the money he is a complete sell out, JC aren't you a united fan? if so his ego show when he played for united he though he was bigger than the team and was playing crap hence fergie (the greatest manager of the last 2 decades) dropped him, screams of ego to me.

    Point one.

Giggs also spent more time out injured due to bad hamstrings, they only stopped when he stopped acting big headed and driving sport cars. FACT

    Point two.

Every player has an ego, Ronaldo, Messi, Gerrard. But some United fan you are, slagging off one of United best players ever. Name me one player who has said he hated/didn't want to play in same team as Beckham? Bet I can name alot more that wanted to.

  12. Someone else mention stats don't lie

Number of titles since he left: 2

    Borrowed Amount: 100m

There you go real has been more successful and larger in debt now due to the lack of merchidise revenue from beckham

so on the pitch they didn't miss him at all after his last season and they had to borrow to get the money they need to run the club.

therefore it was a financial mistake to let him go not a footballl one

Real Madrid has always been in debt, the deals for Ronaldo, Zidane. Hell they borrowed money to buy Beckham, RVN.

So basically your (MG) saying if it was'nt for Beckham being brought back in to the Madrid side they would'nt have won La Liga that year well i disagree completley it was a TEAM effort and i personally think Madrid would of won La Liga weather he was playing or not, i mean he was dropped and started games on the bench it was only towards the end of the season that he gained his first team spot back.

Look at the form, Madrid were in trouble. Beckham came back, they played like a different team. And as Laf put, Madrid players themselves even admitted Beckham returning won them the league.

  13. David Beckham at one point in his career (I'd put it around 99-01) was the best damn right winger on the planet. His creativity, passing, energy and movement was all world class and there's no one that can tell me any different because the truth is, there is no reason to deny it!

The 'he never goes past anyone' argument I think is used by every anti-Beckham since 1997. The truth is..HE DOES..not often..BUT HE DOES. The reason he doesn't do it alot is because he never needed to. He crossed from deep as that gave him the angle to swing the ball in such a way that would confuse the keeper into a dilemma over whether to come for it and usually it ended with a headed goal from Cole, Yorke or Van Nistelrooy.

Is he overrated today? Well isn't every England player? I personally think he should still be in the squad until his fitness starts to go because he's still the best dead ball specialist England have no matter what people put him down for.

As for him being lucky? Jesus now that just makes me angry, that's just jealously! Everybody has heard Beckham talking, he's not the brightest lamp in the street but he did what he knew and that was play football. He put all his effort and put MAJOR practice and dedication into his football and it paid off big time. Why is that lucky?

Is he lucky because he was born handsome and he leaves womens' knickers wetter than a Westlife concert?

David Beckham made himself. That's a fact. He's a hero and someone to admire, nothing less.

It doesn't matter whether you like his celebrity bullshit..that has nothing to do with his football.

    :clap

  14. Ok awnser me this do you (MG) as a big Beckham fan think he gets more credit he deserves compaired to players like Keane or even Butt of that 99 treble wining side and think about his carrer as a whole does he deserve being seen as a great player.

Dwight Yorke joined United for £12.6 million at the start of the campaign. It was a season in which Yorke, and fellow strikers Solskjaer, and Andy Cole were to be Manchester United's three most potent strikers, all three earning a place among the Leagues top 10 scorers. In Europe these three again produced when it mattered, Yorke and Cole often in tandem, and Solskjaer of course made his place in United folklore with his winner in Barcelona.

    Prem WC FA Euro Total

    Dwight Yorke 18 0 3 8 29

    Andy Cole 17 0 2 5 24

    Michael Owen 18 1 2 2 23

    Alan Shearer 14 1 5 1 21

    Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink 18 1 0 1 20

    Nicolas Anelka 17 0 1 1 19

    Hamilton Ricard 15 3 0 0 18

    Robbie Fowler 14 1 1 2 18

    Ole-Gunnar Solskjaer 12 3 1 2 18

    Julian Joachim 14 0 1 1 16

For David Beckham, the season was marked by constant abuse from opposition fans on the back of his World Cup sending off with England the previous Summer. However, Beckham answered his critics by consistently providing some outstanding play. His pinpoint accuracy fed United's strikers with perfect crosses whipped in from the wings, his range of unstoppable free kicks added to United's goal scoring options. Beckham's contribution to United's season was immense.

Teddy Sheringham had joined United to win medals, and after United's trophy drought the previous season found opposition fans jeering at his lack of silverware. Sheringham found himself thrust into the team as a Substitute in vital matches at the end of the season, and he produced the goals when it mattered; in the F.A. Cup Final and above all, his stoppage time equaliser in the European Champions Cup Final.

    From the Man United website
  15. Do you think if Beckham had'nt have left R Madrid he would be playing regualrly for them i very much delt that, and just because Beckhams a global icon (wich i quite agree he is) does that make him a great footballer not really. And you keep going on about this DVD mabey i should see it ,like i said at the start has anyone seen something i hav'nt well by the looks of you have

    What???

    First of all

Beckham himself admitted he hated playing right wing, he alway saw himself as a centre midfielder.

    Next

A world class player doesn't mean beating fullbacks for 90 minutes, it means he is good at what he does freekicks, passing the ball 50 odd yards. A world class player is also someone that can change a game, remember that freekick against Greece?

    Finally.

I was a fullback (right and left) when I played at school and for local teams and there were a few times I was quicker then the winger. A quick turn, slick foot work or even a first time cross was enough. So that proves what you are saying about needing pace to be a winger are false.

I think a poll is needed.
