1. Just been listening to some music by The Crave, the band who'll be supporting Shinedown later this month. They're... alright. Pretty standard light rock is my first impression, but I'm still happy to see them. I'm sure it'll be fun.

Family Guy

I've never followed it that much, but every time I've watched it I've had a guilty laugh or two.
3. Alex's Wiki currently says, "Alexandra Burke is essentially a poor man's Leona Lewis." I agree.
4. I haven't watched an ounce of X Factor this year, so now after watching a bunch of videos of some of the people you're talking about, I bring to you some objective, untainted views... Diana is exactly what Simon once said - "the most relavent person on the show". She fits in very well with what's in right now, from the sexy-meets-scabby look to the fashionably out of tune singing. I don't care for her, how young she is, or care about her voice troubles. Back when they did Pop Idol they kicked off that fat f*cker who had the same illness and brought in Darius as a replacement. They daren't have done it to her though, she's too trendy and appealing to the audience. Pretty surprised Naitch likes her so much, in truth. Eoghan is what just about every talent show has - the young, pretty damn bland, in no way special but loved the by the females type of contestant. Isnt he cute? No, not really, and he's not that good of a singer either. If X Factor wants to produce a lasting star, my initial opinion is that this kid isn't it. He'll follow Ray Quinn right down to...umm...where did he go? JLS...there's not much to say really. A "boy band"...that's about it. Ruth was someone originally brought to my attention by DraVen (something about wanting to plug her back passage or something), and I trashed her for being a bit boring and predictable, which I stand by. However, in comparison, vocally and pretty much all around, she was better than the others I've seen. And in closing, not a single one of them is anywhere CLOSE to Leona Lewis.

I'll check it out, cheers... Yeah, simple enough. If only I had the washer/nut...

Guitars!

I've had a quick skeg at the screws/nuts/bolts etc isle in Homebase (I offered to "tidy" it, see ;)), and couldn't see anything. And there's no guitar shop near me, so, it's a bit of a puzzle.

Guitars!

Hello again, folks! Yes indeed, I'm dragging this old dog back up again. There's a good reason though, I need help fixing my (borrowed - eep!) electric. I originally had two issues, but then I found the screw wedged between my carpet and the bottom of the wardrobe - no fuss! But the remaining problem relates to the cable jack. It's gone inside the guitar. Somehow, at some time, I assume, the nut must have fallen off and unlike the aforementioned screw - it remains to be seen. Here's a grainy, blurry picture to illustrate this... http://img80.imageshack.us/img80/4346/image01318mf1.jpg ...it's very blurry, sorry about that, but you can clearly see the jack has dipped into the guitar. I've rummaged around in the tool box and found an arrangement of nuts and washes, but none seem to fit. I''ve taken the back off the gutiar and I can easily push it back out, I just need a nut (and wash, really) to lock it in place out there. I'm not sure where to get one though. It needs to be like a flat nut, or a shallow nut, I forget what my Dad said it was now, but like - not a fat one. It has to be quite slimline. So, where can I get one? Do I need to go to the manufacturers website? What do I do?
8. Rise Above This by Seether. Many thanks to Mr Cottam!
9. Check out this cover by my friend, Elliot Friedman...
10. I concur; the songs bleeds awesomeness.
11. The Sound of Madness, by Shinedown. For me this is still, by a long shot, the album of the year.
12. Have You Ever Seen The Rain?, by Creedence Clearwater Revival.
13. Psycho, by Puddle of Mudd. I like this, it's a fun tune, and in the video Wes Scantlin has awesome hair - which is obviously very important.

Apologies for the late reply, but yes, I agree with this - very much so. Also, my Yamaha is still a joy to play, even with the gammy B and E strings! They hold their tune fine, so all is well, they just look poor in comparison to the others. I've also broken out that electric I'm borrowing tonight, and jeepers, it's tremendously easy to play, I feel like a much better guitarist back on the electric! This leads me to...........wanting a new electric. Yup, then I can give this borrowed beast back, and have a decent electric of my own, as well as a solid acoustic/electric, and my crappy starter guitar for nostalgia purposes. I'll probably buy after Christmas, and I'm looking at either a Les Paul Standard, or a Firebird - both Epiphone, I should add; my pockets aren't that deep.
