  1. Twenty-one reasons why English is hard to learn 1. The bandage was wound around the wound. 2. The farm was used to produce produce. 3. The dump was so full it had to refuse more refuse. 4. We must polish the Polish furniture. 5. He could lead if he would get the lead out. 6. The soldier decided to desert his dessert in the desert. 7. Since there was no time like the present, he thought it was time to present the present. 8. A bass was painted on the head of the bass drum. 9. When shot at, the dove dove into the bushes. 10. I did not object to the object. 11. The insurance was invalid for the invalid. 12. There was a row among the oarsmen on how to row. 13. They were too close to the door to close it. 14. The buck does funny things when does are present. 15. A seamstress and a sewer fell down into a sewer line. 16. To help with planting, the farmer taught his sow to sow. 17. The wind was too strong to wind the sail. 18. After a number of injections my jaw got number. 19. Upon seeing the tear in the painting I shed a tear. 20. I had to subject the subject to a series of tests. 21. How can I intimate this to my most intimate friend?
  2. Okay, he has two hearts, i'm sure there's a perfectly logical explanation. Riiiiight. Mildly confused by someone who defies human biology by having two fricking hearts! Mildly? I guess they couldn't have her freaking out and being petrified of him all episode, but I think when it comes down to it, they told the story itself poorly. They should have gone about it another way.
  3. As far as clinging to someone who knew what to do, fair enough. But I found it odd how when finding out that her patient (the Doctor) had two hearts, she wasn't freaked out.
  4. Agreed, when there's a blood sucking villain coming after me, I shall skidaddle rather sharply myself too. But Martha had just met this wierd guy, he's gots two hearts (which she oddly smiled at), and she decides to grab his hand and run away down a corridor with him. I think it was too soon to have them doing that, because the two lead characters holding hands and running away from the baddies together is quite a symbolic image. It's one of partnership and trust, which I don't think they should have after meeting each other that soon. Especially when you consider that the Doctor lost his love in Rose, shouldn't he be a little distant?
  5. I just think that it has to be strong because it's the same Doctor going into a second season, and a new companion taking over from a much loved companion. Tennant has to keep the good performances up and Agyeman has to really win the crowd over to prove that this is the newest and bestest best partnership to watch on TV! They have to do this because Rose / Tennant worked very well together and really had the audience on their side.
  6. Fair point, but then the first episode should have been a lot better. Maybe even go for a longer episode if needed. I do like the darker episodes, but I don't think Tennant can do the dark and angry that well. He can do the gorky light hearted banter stuffs fine, but he stops well short of credibly angry. It comes accross more like 'somewhat miffed'. :P Don't get me wrong, I WANT the ratings to stay high so it stays on TV, but I just think that this series HAS to be very strong, and the first episode wasn't a good indication.
  7. They didn't have to. They could have done something different and stretched it out over two episodes. What was worst was when the Doctor kissed Martha, that was a terrible decision! A big tearful ending for Rose, who he LOVED, and now straight away he's smacking his lips on another girl! Also, I didn't like how they had him walk accross her right at the start of the episode. It made sense at the end, yes, but it was far too early to confuse the audience like that. I really thought it was a terribly rushed episode overall. The last ten minutes were good, but the rest was poor.
  8. If that episode is a sign of things to come, then I fear for Doctor Who's ratings. It was, in my opinion, crap. The show was rushed and the relationship / partnership between Martha and the Doctor in particular was developed far too quickly. The aliens themselves were cool, reminding me somewhat of The Fifth Element, but I didn't like the Granny blood sucker. They didn't seem to try with her at all, instead opting for cheap puns. Overall I was very dissapointed. It's like they tried to put in all the 'cool' things about Doctor Who, but completely forgot about how to create a story and keep the actual basis of a decent episode.
  9. I hope no one was really hoping to see one of these films we're all spoiling the endings for.
  10. Retro-a-rama! I'd love to see a hungry hippo's game in an arcade near me. Sadly we only have big simulators and several flashy sniper games and pinball machines. Pfft!
  11. The Usual Suspects does have a truly excellent ending. From the way Spacey loses the limp, to the gobsmacked detective reading the wall in his office. Supoib!
  12. What if? by Creed "My stage is shared by many millions, Who lift their hands up high because they feel this. We are one, we are strong, The more you hold us down the more we press on!" Awsome song. :)
  13. 100% agree with One Last Breath. Haven't heard the Alter Bridge tune, but that is a Creed classic!
  14. A little known singer-songwriter named Elliot Friedman has had my attention lately. He's great. :)
  15. 'What are we fighting?' for by Live, a song of their 6th album entitled 'Birds of Pray'. The long lost album I've yearned for is finally gracing my ears. MARK OUT! http://img257.imageshack.us/img257/4360/yahoomf1.gif
  16. I'm listening to the latter part of Live's fifth album, cunningly entitled 'V'. It's their least successful album (partly due to a Oct 2001 launch), but I think it's absoloutely brilliant.
  17. Heh, I knew about this but haven't followed it at all to be honest. But nevertheless, I like RAYTED RENO for a team name.

  19. The Granny (or Nanny or something similar) is another terrible movie. This one was a horror flick done with (i'm guessing) a 99p budget. It was just terrible production, acting and in all otherways pure tat. Course we enjoyed it for comedy value.
  20. :oops On topic: Solaris is a bad film, very, how do you say.....pointless. PS. Rog smells.
