  1. I would say thats true but Austin wasnt wrestling every week on Raw, he'd just do all the cool stuff like with the zamboni or the bang 3:16 gun and the like.
  2. See this is what WWE needs to be doing more of. I would not begrudge buying a b- level PPV that had the champions in a tag match, or 4 way or whatever type match that furthers a fued leading to a big one on one blow off match at a A level PPV. I would be more likely to buy both the PPV's if it was guareneteed i wasnt essentially paying for the same match twice in a row. The B shows could still be a strong card without us seeing a 'mania level blow off match each time. Where i have noticed this the most is (appropriatly enough) leading into Summerslam. I think it was ast year i was expecting WWE to build to Triple H vs. Edge for the title at Summerslam, but instead they blew off the fued at the Bash and we got left with Khali vs HHH at the second biggest show of the year for the title.. with one months build to make it worse. (Admittedly we did get Edge vs Taker out of the mess too but..) Maybe there should only be one world title defended on every show apart from Mania, Summerslam, Royal Rumble and Survivor Series. Still have each brand compete just make some storyline up about brands buying the rights to main event slots or some sh*t, least that would mean only 9 defences of each belt on PPV instead of 14 each year.
  3. Yeah see i dont think i even get shocked anymore when injured wrestlers return because in recent years there tends to always be someone injured who makes a come back. I think it happed with Edge like 2 moths prior to Cena. As for the McMahon limo thing, yeah it did.. i remembered those two McMahon incidents and i couldn't remember which happened more recently, and i plumped for the one i thought was more recent. Also i should say the night Jericho returned i was excited but not suprised. I guess i was hasty in saying the last time was NYR 06, but my point is it dosent happen very often at all these days, maybe 1 or 2 a year, compared to every month with UFC. (For me, that is)
  4. No, honestly i didnt find either of these exciting. Punks first cash in was perhaps a pleasant suprise, but i wouldn't go as far as to say i was shocked or excited, nor would i say i've had the urge to go back and watch them again. The thing with the Edge cash in on Cena at New Years Revolution is that it had never crossed my mind that someone could do that, straight after a match. I was just expecting a PPV match to be set up weeks in advance from Edge. Since then, its like, "..well i've seen it before." You know what, actually i was shocked when the rigging fell on McMahon during the Million Dollar giveaway thingy, but geniunly i think that was the last time. I still really enjoy watching WWE, it just dosent give me that buzz that UFC does
  5. Well.. This is a load of rubbish..
  6. Its like the thing with WWE is, and although i watch religiously, i wouldnt dream of buying a PPV to see eg. Triple H vs. Randy Orton in their 27th PPV match, especialy when WWE gives it away free on TV in some form nearly every week. UFC's big advantage is, although you can sometimes get weaker looking cards, it remains fresh every month. You will see most guys fight only around 3-4 times each year, and they have an incredible talent pool at the minute, even if there perhaps aren't as many "headline" superstars, ie Shamrock, Ortiz, Liddell and Couture, the depth of quality and quality fighters is much better than ever, IMO. Plus there should be some super fights in the pipeline, ie Griffin vs Silva, a possible St. Pierre vs. Silva, Penn vs. Florian
  7. I think the production and excitment of a UFC PPV out does WWE PPV's hands down. Nothing on a WWE show shocks me anymore, the last time i can say i was excited and shocked i would possiby be going back to New Years Revolution 06 with Edge cashing in MITB
  8. Is it over now? Someone had to..
  9. Yeah, they played it and a coupe of other new songs when i went to see them in February, i think it might take getting used to. Yeah New Fellas is my favourite album too, possibly my favourite album ever.. December 8th, the day before my birthday!
  10. You mean those vignettes he did around 1990? :) Unblocking a toilet and the like. I would pay PPV rates just to see a big brother style show with Dusty, Jake Roberts, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Typhoon, Brutus Beefcake, Iron Sheik and Terry Funk
  11. When is the Brixton show? Shoud be good, im hoping it wont be all new album stuff unless i get a good chance to get into all before the gig, they'd better crack out the classics, im sure they will, another number and you're gonna lose us sure to be certs!
  12. The Cribs, constantly. Eagerly anticipating my 8th Cribs gig in september and the 4th studio album
  13. Loved the backstage segment with Cena, Triple H and Seth where Triple H said "stick with me".. Cena follows up with "..he tends to get a bit reckless out there, you better stick with me" .. Trips starts to get mad and Cena cuts him off with: "Come on now, lets not get into an argument about it, we both know hes gonna get killed out there" With Triple H kind of nodding in sympathetic agreement.
  14. :? I no.. thats what i was saying! I was agreeing with you..
  15. I agree opinions can be wrong, if there is facts to disprove the way of thinking. However in instance i dont think he is definatly wrong, how can he be, theres no facts that can confirm either way what the right answer is.. and im not saying Dinsmore is'nt qualified for the job or doubting his abilities, but i still think that there could be someone better qualified. There might not be either.. but its not exactly out of the question. My main gripe with Dinsmore is that he wasn't on the main roster for a great period of time working in front of 5000+ crowds for a long period of time. He's not well travelled when compared to other candidates, and these are qualities i imagine would be useful when teaching new talents. Obviously Dinsmores greatest advantage is that he was in WWE developmentals for longer than just about anyone else so he knows how the system works and what is expected. I guess we're going to have to agree to disagree, i just dont like being told that i am abolutly wrong when there is no facts to prove so.
  16. But Finlay and Regal wrestle for WWE now, so not really. He was making sensible selections of people who achieved more than Dinsmore both in WWE and otherwise and have a history of training and working with younger talent. He wasn't listing whose won the most world titles and saying they should get the job. Just because WWE want people to work WWE style dosent mean that Jay should want them too, and if he thinks that by someone else tutoring them they get better and work a less rigid style then thats his opinion. (not wanting to put words in his mouth by the way.) Whether anyone else turned it down is irrelevant because he never mentionned that. He is'nt being ignorant, as i mentionned earlier he is aware of Dinsmores achievements And how can his opinion be wrong? If everyone has to have the same opinion then there is really no point in a forum.
  17. Stu Hart trained some of the best wrestlers in the world when he was like 60+ years old. Come on now, Khali? The guys he mentionned were spoken about because they combined achievements with the ability to wrestle a solid match and that they have experience of mentoring and teaching. Its unfair to try and make him look stupid and call him ignorant when what he is saying is clearly a valid opinion
  18. I dont think he is being ignorant, DS and Mitch think he has passable credentials for the job, Jay isnt ignoring that, infact he's acknoledged their credentials, but has said that he thinks there are people BETTER suited for the job. I'm fully aware of things that Dinsmore achieved particularly in OVW, but personally agree with him that Malenko, Regal or Finlay would be more qualified. They have worked for countless large companies, all over the world, and have worked over a longer period of time, with a larger selection of world class superstars. They havent got the jobs for a reason, wehter they dont want it, WWE high ups dont want them to have it, they have enough already on their plates, whatever.. But it dosent mean that you are ignorant if you are of the opinion that someone else is better qualified
  19. I didnt relise that Cro Cop (supposedly) had signed a new 3 fight contract, but yeah, Cro Cop vs Junior Dos Santos at UFC 103 is rumoured
  20. Cro Cop wont happen seen as he's screwed Dana over and left UFC, Vera fights at 205lbs now dosent he, so HW is very thin indeed.
  21. Is that a joke? Thats awful.. They should call it WWE Future Endeavour
  22. I've got a degree in product design, pretty adept at photoshop, illustrator and solidworks and the like. Currently in the process of designing a few products, hopefully get them finished by the end of summer and raise some money to get a sound prototype made.. After that i might attempt to hump Duncan Bannatyne and Peter Jones' long legs for some starter capital
  23. It suprises me that people are writing off Nogueira against Brock. I honestly think hes got a good chance against Lesnar if he can get past Couture, which i think he will do also. He lost to Frank Mir yes, but he was in hospital for like a 5 days only 2 weeks before the Mir fight with staph infection which drained his strength and conditioning not allowing him to prepare well. If you look at him he beat Tim Sylvia who is a bigger guy, and in the last 10 years, taking away the Mir loss that i mentionned, he's only lost to Fedor twice, each time on the judges scorecards and Josh Barnett, a split decision loss, which he avenged 3 months later. I also think a Sylvia vs Lesnar fight would be interesting somewhere down the line, as well as a Barnett fight and an Arlovski fight. Not sure if these would happen anytime soon with all those guys not being with UFC but they could be interesting fights.
  24. Forrest Hardy has just had his second fight and he's advanced to 2-0-0. Won a 3 round unanimous win over Joel McTavish. The highlight of the fight commentary had to be the line: "McTavish really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape." Genius.
  25. Mir is a great submission fighter especially against bigger opponants, look at the Tim Sylvia fight and the first Lesnar fight as examples, he absored all the physicality and waited to strike. Plus his cardio is much improved, Nogueira attests to that.
