  1. I agree that we will probably see a drop off in the older guys on the roster, no more little shortcuts and slaps on the wrists. Will the measures be retro-active as well? So for instance, Nate Diaz's previous and numerous failed tests being added to any new ones should he fight again?
  2. In this country yes, worldwide then no. Same with Collins v Benn and Collins v Eubank, even though Collins had more exposure in the US then Benn or Eubank.
  3. Winning titles is not so much down to your in ring ability as a combination of things including that. Galloway is bigger in height and stature then most guys on the indies plus he has wrestled for the WWE and held tag and IC gold so indie feds are going to try and capitalise on that increased exposure he has had in the mainstream compared to the rest of their roster and put titles on him. He has won titles in SWA and ICW, which considering he is the only former WWE talent working for them right now who is Scottish is not a surprise and DGUSA and Evolve are sister companies so it makes sense again that both would give him gold as well. I'm not saying he never will be back in the WWE, but I tell you now his previous issues (his doomed relationship and marriage to Tiffany resulting in a divorce and her kicking the crap out of him in public) as well as the fact he was buried deeper then Satan during his 3MB days means it will be a hard sell.
  4. Depends as Magnus is engaged to Mickie James and the father of her child and if I recall there is some heat between the WWE and Mickie regarding some backstage goings on isn't there that led to her release? As for Galloway, they haven't long cut him really and he didn't set the world on fire whilst he was there. Seriously, if people where wanted then the WWE would have made moves by now given the money and TV situation is well known.
  5. Work rate takes a back seat to putting asses in seats though and seen as those three men have been champion in the leanest years of TNA's existence do you think that WWE would touch them as a result?
  6. If your a TNA guy or an ex-TNA guy that used to wrestle for the WWE and bad mouthed them in the press or a liability (Jeff Hardy/Matt Hardy/Kurt Angle) or just someone who works for TNA who bad mouthed the company (AJ Styles) then I can see why the WWE wouldn't want you. Also look at this way, TNA is dying on its ass and no one wants to see their 'stars' yet places like RoH and PWG are doing well for their size and making money - so do you go for the wrestlers of a company no one watches and therefore it can be assumed they don't care about OR do you go after the Steen's, Genericos, Bucks and such of the world who are doing well on the indy circuit, making a name and actually drawing a crowd? I know it isn't as black and white as that and a lot of it is mismanagement and poor booking that have put these guys in that that position but in the WWE's eyes that just makes them damaged goods.
  7. PC's aren't always expensive to fix. If you go for a like for like part then the part should now be cheaper as unless you somehow blow a CPU or graphics card on the week or month you buy it the part will now be older and therefore cheaper, its only if you go for a newer part that it could be the same price or more expensive. Plus most of the time, when people 'break' PC's it is a software fault or an error they have caused which can be fixed quite cheaply or at no cost at all. If you look after your PC then it shouldn't break any easier then a console really.
  8. The judges in Boxing Assign points to the boxers, based on punches that connect, defense and knockdowns. Therefore Mayweather, by resetting in another before slipping and sliding is actually defending and probably scoring points. I'm not a huge Mayweather fan but what is so different to him moving away from punches and contact so the opponent tires and then counter punching then when Ali did it? Granted Ali didn't do it every fight but what's the difference? It's MMA that awards points for aggression, the idea of boxing is the actual skill of the boxer and his ability to hit without being hit - in that respect Mayweather is pretty much the ideal boxer.
  9. Rumour is his next opponent will either be Amir Khan or Khan's fellow Briton and IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook. Hell fight them both, take another title and retire on 50 not out.
  10. Manny really hasn't looked quite the same since his knockout against Marquez in 2012. His power doesn't seem to be the same and his stamina level looks to have decreased and along with it the volume he usually throws to win rounds, pressure opponents and eventually take the match. Plus I thought it was written into the contract that if Mayweather won there would be no rematch?
  11. Mayweather on points, like I said before the fight, its always Mayweather on points. Imagine my surprise when I checked the result this morning, not. That's how confident I was that it would be Manny hitting air, arms and getting tied up whilst Mayweather popped the odd counter and then the jab when it got later before winning it on points - I didn't bother to watch it, I was invited by my friends to go round to one of theirs to watch it and I didn't because there was no way I was staying up till 6am to watch the same old, same old. Mayweather for better or for worse has solved boxing and all of the boxers thrown at him. He's going to fight two more times, beat Rocky's record of 49 unbeaten and retire a 50 fight unbeaten world champion. Boxing believe it or not will be better when he's gone.
  12. Modding is like DLC really. If you own a PC game and you love it enough you will mod it to expand your experience just like you will get DLC if you love a console game enough. Difference is modding is open ended in its possibilities where as DLC is limited to what the developers and publishers wish to give you and driven by them trying to make more money from you where as modders just really love the game. Look at G-Mod as well. It is HUGE and all it is really is people modding the Half Life 2 game and engine but oh my, how they have opened it up to so many different possibilities. But like I say it is massive at the moment in terms of popularity and people are building and modding and creating new stuff every day. It is one of the things that Vanoss and his friends play on the most - Vanoss has over 11m YouTube subbers, that means quite a large portion of those at some point will try the game meaning a possible audience of what, up to 11 million possible modders or soon to be modders or just people enjoying the work of other modder's? I'm not a huge PC gamer or modder but I have mods for stuff on my n64 emulator, like No Mercy, I have mods for Panzer General 2 and Pacific General and Peoples General, mainly to make them work on 64-bit OS systems (PG2 was developed in a time where people could still run MS-DOS as their OS of choice) but also with new scenarios, campaigns, units and all sorts. Like Megs says, modding has been around for a long time and is hugely popular, the earliest mods I remember playing where for Civilisation 2 back in 1996 and I even modded Champ Manger 1997-98 using the editor they included with the game to create an accurate World Cup 1998. If something is there on the cheap or even free that people can find for their existing games to make that enjoyment and investment last longer then they will.
  13. The only problem I have now is basically the same issue as Chris. I had to install the following updates for games I bought and installed on my X-Box even though I own the disc... Far Cry 4 - 2gb Halo: Master Chief Collection: 16gb Forza Horizon 2: 4gb Mortal Kombat X - 2.4gb There are more but not one single game, even on the day of launch, has actually allowed me to put in a disc and just play the god damn game. Even stuff like Lego Batman 3 and Wolf Amongst Us needed a 100mb update or so. Publishers need to stop releasing games that are incomplete or broken to match deadlines. Do what they did in the old days, until you knew when something was going to be finished and fully tested just loosely commit to a year. AC: Unity got pushed back a month and it was still a hot mess when it was released. By the time I finally rented it in February 2015 and had to download a HUGE updated before I could play (around 4gb) it was fixed but that sort of time span and update should not be required for something that cost so god damn much to make and had been in development for two years.
  14. Eventually though the console will reach the same functionality of a PC in everything bar the ability to pirate music and video files. I stress eventually though because it depends on the leaps made by the PC in the next six years or so until the newest consoles are released. I used to be more of a PC game then a console gamer truth be told. The FPS was born and is still at its best for me on the PC, the RTS likewise. I still play Red Alert 2 and 3 as well as Panzer General 2, Pacific General and C&C Generals to do this day on my PC. The first console version of FIFA or Madden I ever owned and played was FIFA '09. I custom built a rig in around 2003 for £500. By that I mean I bought all the parts and built it myself. I bought a new and upgraded one in 2006 for £800, mainly as I couldn't be bothered to do it myself this time and then the one I currently run for about the same price in 2009. I even managed to keep my love for the n64 alive through my PC as well and have enjoyed some amazing mods for No Mercy that allow it to stand up as a game even to this day. I have no issue with PC gaming, in fact my fondest memories of my teenage gaming years where mostly on the PC. However the notion that something that is for the more hardened gamer would ever replace the convenient sugar rush of console gaming is something I refuse to believe. I also believe that with OS upgrades and the odd hardware update you will spend in six years on a PC the same amount as an outlay on a console at least - if you exceed the cost of a console it depends on if you have the gene that makes you want the newest shiny thing. What may happen is a downturn in popularity for a little while whilst the gaming library for the new generation expands but come Christmas Halo 5, COD Black Ops III or something else will set a new sales record and everything will be forgotten.
  15. The span of time between the original X-Box to the 360 was four years and from there to the current generation it was eight years. Between the PSone to PS2 was six years, from there it was the same length of time until we had the PS3 and it took seven years for the PS4 to be released. So on average it is what, six years or so between consoles. In that time how many new graphics chips, processors, upgrades to RAM and motherboard connectivity occur in the PC hardware world? Not to mention OS versions, after all Microsoft at the moment average a new OS every three years. Vista was 2006, 7 was 2009 and Windows 8 in 2012, in fact 8 was already being developed before 7 was released and low and behold, Windows 10 (where is 9 by the way?) is being released this year, three years later. So yes whilst buying a new console is partly a graphics update, PC users will need to do the same to hardware and software potentially in less of the time then the current console cycle at a cost that actually matches or depending on the rig you want to build, exceeds the cost of a home console. Also if you wait six months after launch you'll avoid the high price at release that companies slap on every new gadget because they know part of society will pay any cost to own the newest anything, hence the reason people sleep outside Apple stores when a new iPhone is announced.
  16. I think that is why Microsoft are trying, with each adaptation of the X-Box, to include more and more stuff and make it capable of doing more and more stuff that isn't related to gaming. I can browse and post on the internet, watch YouTube, watch Netflick, use Twitter and Facebook, catch up on All4, BBC iPlayer and 5 on Demand, watch the WWE Network, access my TV and a host of other cool stuff and still game like I can on the PC and not need to worry about my rig and if it is good enough for what is coming next. Granted with more and more indie games and steam games that is less of a worry now (for instance, if you can run Half Life 2 in top spec, you're golden with a lot of games of that ilk) but if I also what to play some of the bigger titles I need a good rig and may need to upgrade in future. With the consoles I have a rig that people develop for, a universal constant that will not require me to spend on hardware as well as software bar the initial outlay. I think the problem is that because the Sony and the Microsoft AND the Wii architectures are so different it means if you want to reach as many people as possible and therefore want to publish on all available mediums you need to develop for FIVE different potential OS and hardware configurations (Mac OS/Windows/X-Box/Wii/PS) - that is what is driving the cost of creating games up and up. For console gaming to work over a long and sustainable period, one company needs to win the war and there be ONE console that has a life span of say 5-7 years. That isn't to say if Microsoft won that Nintendo would leave the business, they could just go down the Sega route and be a publisher and developer and likewise Sony but everyone would have the same one system to work with, one development team, one cost to create and free up some money to be different and take a shot.
  17. Maybe I should have said the plot... I think that maybe, just maybe, the future of gaming is in mobile and touch screen devices. Even people that look down on console gaming as some childish, behind the times hobby game on a mobile device and don't even consider it gaming because they are doing it on a phone or tablet and not a purpose built console. These people are idiots but that is besides the point. Look at BubbleWitch, Bejewelled Blitz, Candy Crush (and its follow on Soda Crush) as well. Hell even some game developers are even linking in mobile versions of their game as well like WB with their Batman, Injustice and Mortal Kombat add on/companion pieces.
  18. Or Napoleon Dynamite. Seriously what was the point of that film again?
  19. Plus don't forget, the other kings of rehashing ideas, Activision are this year bringing back Guitar Hero and Harmonix have teamed up with Mad Catz of all people to publish and develop Rock Band 4. Harmonix have said this will be a one off for this console generation and their will be no more sequels, just extensive support with content (aka a tonne of DLC), Activision on the other hand have made no such promises.
  20. Pretty much all of my Sportsbook cash has been put on... you guessed it... Mayweather on Points.
  21. The problem is now the gaming market, a far as the console goes, is based around yearly launches of franchises and the Christmas period as being the optimum time to release a game. Coupled to what DC said, there are also lots of indie games out there plus it took the 360 around two to three years to actually have a decent library of games, simply due to the release schedule being biased towards the fourth quarter of the year. So I wouldn't say they are dead, just a bit woozy after a regeneration like the Doctor. Except for the Wii U outside of Japan, that thing is sinking like a stone.
  22. Plus doesn't Zsasz just do it a tally chart of his victims? So long as Joker (or any character) didn't specifically do that then its just self mutilation which a crazy person could do.
  23. The suits and clothes and such, no tats or tooth caps or daft stuff. The rest of it just fit, green hair, scarred face just a more grungy version of the classic version. It was a departure not so much of one that it was a distraction and you could argue Nolan was just trying to make the Joker more real whilst still keeping the chaotic core and maliciousness. But there is no scars here, there are facial tattoos and tooth caps, it just screams they are trying to distance themselves, at least aesthetically from previous incarnations of the Joker for no real reason in a huge manner that is quite frankly at the moment distraction I agree the performance is the key though, but with the people involved I shudder to think if they will give Leto, who is more then capable of giving a good performance as Joker, the actual material needed to produce one.
  24. Nope, just nope. Why can the DC universe be made into fantastic TV programmes but the people behind the movies couldn't hit a barn door from a foot away? I know they are trying to be different then Nolan or Burton in terms of looks but you don't have to, that was how the Joker looked, it is the story and the performance that can provide the difference and the uniqueness. Seen as the painted on abs are back on the Bat-Suit I suppose its not to long before Bat-Nipples reappear, Deadshot will look like a member of Seal Team 6, Super-Girl will be a goth with trust issues and Lex Luthor will have hair.
  25. Yeah, if they had done this in 2010 or 2011 after both had finished using Ricky Hatton as speed bags it would have been much more huge in terms of atmosphere and quite frankly PPV revenue in my opinion. Truth is what is next for boxing after this in terms of a must see big fight? With all the young talent from seemingly every art of fighting being drawn into MMA can the sport continue to produce new stars at all?
