  1. You have too pick one. Them's the rules. I think. Well, I'm really not particular. @BamBamsGurlMoo an unending comedy. Seriously, who would pick an unending horror? That would take a serious masochist. Or maybe a psychopath. If you had the opportunity to spend two hours with a wrestling star would you pick The Undertaker or Edge?
  2. That's an easy choice for me, I'd rather forgo magical powers if it meant I could live forever. While it would be nice to have magical powers, nothing is better than life. Which scenario would you prefer, being trapped in an elevator with someone discussing politics or being trapped in an elevator with someone discussing religion?
  3. @Poppy, I agree about wanting to see different crimes, but I think the affluent people in this franchise enjoy playing cat and mouse with their prey the most. It's all about manipulation and mind games for sport. Money is just the tool they use. Miguel should just leave Penelope to her fate as a lesson in evolution.
  4. Just not Miguel. Anyone but Miguel. I'm rooting so hard for that him and Penelope, even though she baffles me. I know quizzes are a bit silly, but did anyone else try the quiz on the main page? I came up as a NFFA Socialite. It's a bit depressing.
  5. I'm like Poppy, I just used my first name. I was surprised it wasn't already taken. @HighlyLogical I've always adored your username. It suits you. That is a long time. Very impressive! I followed Ronda Rousey's career transition into wrestling and this is one of the few forums that I could find discussing it. I take it the whole board used to be about wrestling and wrestling only. I've heard I missed some good stuff during the WCW/WWF battling days.
  6. I follow many MMA and UFC fighters throughout their career. I also follow certain competitions, even if I don't particularly like the competitors. I don't watch other combat sports like martial arts, though because there's not enough time in the day to take them all in.
  7. I don't see how they'll make this worth subscribing too since you can play the popular games like Fortnite without the service. I love my Nintendo Switch, but I don't want to add another monthly subscription fee.
  8. Thanks! I kept forgetting to pay close attention to it. Streaming from Amazon Prime is usually okay, but not with this series for some reason. Lots of buffering...or what seems like buffering. Then I guess our time frame is sometime before the Election Year came out. I probably shouldn't have mentioned so much about the churches. I figured all the films have been out for a while, so no longer spoilable (is that a word???), but really The First Purge hasn't been out that long. I hope I didn't spoil it for too many watchers.
  9. Salome, I look forward to your show recaps on cultofwhatever. You are so funny! I'm too lazy to create an account to leave a comment, but I'm a happy reader. A minister was a purger at one point and several purgers entered a church and murdered most of those inside. At some point, victims were brought to be "martyred" before the violent congregation of purgers, so no, churches aren't safe. I think the religious faction of the pro-purge movement strongly mirrors those who believe in the prosperity gospel in the U.S. The prayers they recite and the words they use twist the Bible out of context to favour their moneyed agenda. Gosh, I hope my comparison between the two religious groups doesn't offend anyone. I mean no harm. Are level 10 political leaders exempt? I know that rule was lifted during The Purge: Election Year, but I'm not sure where the television series in the time line.
  10. I think you'd enjoy the series more if you watch The First Purge which is the prequel to the whole thing. I ask tons of wrestling questions that you've cheerfully answered, so shoot me a message anytime and I'll do my best to fill you in. I'm from the UK too (London) so we'll see it on the same day. I haven't found the series playing elsewhere in the UK, have you? Yes, and I'd like to know what Alison is up to! Lila and Jenna seem like they're in love and there's definitely more to that story. I found it hilarious that Jane hired a contract killer and wished to watch the purging of her harasser-boss on an app. We're not that far from that as a society really. Major violent crimes have appeared on social media in real-time. Yes, they're removed quickly, but the fact that someone took the time to film it and post it where it could be seen by many people shows how easy it is to slip into the purge mindset.
  11. Yes! Christina Ricci was the perfect fit for the role of Lizzie Borden. Plus, the story wasn't sensationalized like I've seen in similar programmes about the infamous murder, trial, and suspects. So, do you think Lizzie Borden was the murderer?
  12. I would likely get bored doing something simple everyday, so I'd take the chance with something bigger. We seemed to miss this one, so I'll answer it too. It would be tough, but I'd rather give up listening to music. I know songs can become stories in your head, but my imagination doesn't work that well. If you were on the Starship Enterprise who would you prefer as your captain, Patrick Stewart or William Shatner?
  13. Patient Zero, a movie about a global pandemic, comes to the cinema in September and I'm looking forward to seeing it. Lizzie, a movie about the true crime story of Lizzie Borden, comes out in September as well and I'll likely see it.
  14. I don't think most sellers actually make a living. According to the FTC, 99% of MLM sellers lose money. The FTC is an American agency, so I wonder if it's that bad in the UK. I have a couple of friends who sell Scentsy and three who sell Act-Labs cosmetics, but they claim they're successful.
  15. Kids should have a reasonable amount of chores and should be expected to pick up after themselves. The parents should divide all chores equally. My parents had an egalitarian marriage and I'd settle for nothing less. If you don't want to clean or cook, hire someone else to do it.

I hope it's okay that I shortened your quote, Maya. I face that same issue with actors who played a loathsome character. I know it's irrational, but the disgust is there just the same. I just didn't have that issue with Rachel Brosnahan. I'll have to check out Red Oaks and will let you know how I get on with it.
  17. I lurked here for ages before joining in. When Laffy called you a robot I thought you were a bot programmed to give WWE recaps and to respond to inquiries. Bots participate on Reddit so it's not far fetched to think a bot posts here as well. It took a fair bit to realize differently. Then, I thought you were a lass since my best mate is named Kameron and she's a she. Well, that will teach me to make assumptions like a ninny . I corrected the "lass" part of my answer and replaced it with a proper response.
  18. I prefer to keep my hair long just because it's curly and the weight helps with the frizz. Which scares you more, climbing up high or being enclosed in tight spaces?
  19. @Kam Sorry about the lass comment, Kam. I get called "lass" all day at work and it carries over. @Maya, a detective on Law and Order during the 2005-2008 years just to check out Chris Noth. Which reality game do you stand the best chance of winning, Survivor or Big Brother?
  20. I think it's something people should expect to happen. We see it all time, don't we know by now that we're responsible for our words? Even before social media people were stuck with the perception others had of them. That perception didn't usually change over the years either. Social media just made it harder to deny because it's written evidence. I could believe he had changed, if he had twitted something different over the years or mentioned that he changed his mind before he was vilified.
  21. Kam, but only because us UK lasses forum members have to stick together. Would you rather enter into a match against John Cena or The Miz on PPV?
  22. Extremely wealthy and ugly because money gives people an extraordinary degree of safety and makes the person appealing to most people. Sadly, wealth is the only way to have political influence. If you were going to binge on sci-fi programmes would you watch Star Trek or Lost in Space?
  23. Villainelle because she's more rational of the two. She only kills when she has reason. Villainelle strikes me as loyal until she's crossed. Cersei is cunning and always scheming to get ahead. I'd never be able to keep her on my side. If you needed medical help which team would you rather perform the diagnoses and carry out the necessary treatment, Dr. Shaun Murphy and his cronies from The Good Doctor, or Dr. Gregory House and his cronies from House?

    Amazon Shows

So many telly programmes are emotionally taxing today that I mostly watch comedies and light-hearted programmes on Amazon like The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Mozart in the Jungle. It's bonkers that Mozart in the Jungle has been cancelled and as a viewer, it feels so unfinished. I used to watch Catastrophe but the constant bickering was too much. I switch between watching their original content and watching old favourites. What about you, The Wild Things?
  25. I think most athletes know they're cheating, but one or two might really just use a body cream or consume something because a trainer or doctor gave it to them. In that instance, it's possible it was all just a mistake. I can forgive the first positive result if the athlete handles it correctly. Just immediately accept responsibility and hang your head in shame.
