  1. The WWE don't care what you think though, and that's not meant in a me being a dick way, it's just the stance they have now taken on things. You could argue that since the inception on WM1 this has been their vision. Yes, I get annoyed when the wrestling is sub-standard and crap, but the spectacle of the event usually placates me by the end of a show :) I personally focus less on the quality of the wrestling and look at the production and entertainment value of the show as a whole....
  2. Exactly this. If you are a pure wrestling fan and are disappointed with WM, then go and watch some ROH or Dragon Gate DVDs. WWE, , the recognized leader in global sports-entertainment - this is what is says on the website and when you tap it into Google, so clearly they are geared towards this and that type of product.
  3. Dolph has better abs and wouldn't look as good in a singlet. Anyway, we're talking about The Mountie and his leather fetish right now.
  4. Yep, we used to peel potatoes together at boot camp. Think I had just come off their Wiki pages so had real names on the brain :P
  5. True, his reign did only last about 2 days :P Plus we can't forget the infamous 'loser spends the night in jail' match he lost against The Big Boss Man, and then the commentators would then say he's been wearing a lot more leather since he went to jail :) classic Monsoon and Heenan
  6. Well they did screw up with the IC title back in the day when they gave it to the Mountie. Bret vs Piper at 'Mania VIII was another awesome IC match. BUt you only had 4 PPVs back then, so it wasn't over saturated and you had more time to build big feuds leading into a PPV which meant the fans cared more about it (in my opinion). Anyway, where's my sandwich?
  7. and whittle it down to the ones who are serious damn, get Vince on the line!
  8. It still really bugs me though (yes, nit picking I know), it's not bad as Swagger's however. I'm liking Cody more as a character now, hard to believe he's been on TV since 2007.
  9. If only he cold have some kind of surgery to remove that lisp he has
  10. They should just run a bootcamp style week long course, make them learn promos and deliver them, and whoever can display skill on the mic, looks in decent physical shape and can put on a decent match gets put through to the next stage. Kind of like a sped up Tough Enough without the cameras etc...
  11. Oh yeh, it wasn't comparable to the reigns of Savage, Perfect etc... but one of the better recent ones. The business has changed so much though, that comparing meanings of titles and title runs to those of 20-30 years doesn't really hold up. A bit like trying to compare Messi and Maradonna and Pele and Cryuff. Or, we've just got really miserable? :P
  12. it did seem more prestigous on him than it did Zeek, Kofi and Drew we could just say all belts are shit and wwe is shit though, which is what we seem to be saying nowadays
  13. he's a fat dude with japanese writing on his face. the only way he wouldn't totally suck ass is if Mr Fuji managed him, called him Tensai-san and beat him with a Kendo stick
  14. If Cena doesn't get F5'd through a table I'll be very disappaointed
  15. I think Roberts was too high to hold the belt and Piper was too Canadian :P Dolph is kind of like a Mr Perfect / Rick Rude hybrid, which ain't a bad thing. Wish he'd lose that swamp donkey Vicki though
  16. Mr Perfect never won the world heavyweight title and he was awesome, Dolph hasn't got near his standard of work or promos yet
  17. If he brough a Kitana down to the ring and started slicing water melons in half, that'd be more entertaining
  18. Rock = a bigger buy rate for them = more money for Vince
  19. The Rock has earned the right to come and go as he pleases. A title run for him would be quite cool to see
  20. I don't think Mark and Paul will go in at the same HOF....their egos will make them want to be the 'big name' that goes in that year.
  21. It's not that easy to just build mega stars...you can count them on one hand, Hogan, Savage, Austin, Rock, Cena....who else has WWE built into a Global Superstar from scratch? You could argue Edge, Hardy, Batista, Orton but they are not on the level of the 5 just mentioned, heck, maybe even strip Savage and Cena from that list. Hogan, Austin, Rock, those are guys with 'it' ... you can't describe it, explain it, or bottle it....it's just 'it'
  22. I'm in exactly the same boat as you. I was in and out of watchnig Wrestling the time he came and left, so his return didn't excite as much as The Rock, Ultimate Warrior at 'Mania 8 or Mr Perfect at Royal Rumble 2002.
  23. I agree there, my mate bitched about Bryan losing all up until the end of the Funkasaurus section. Then when The Rock won (which I was genuinely shocked about), I turned to him and said 'in your face!' in a joking/comical manner as he had backed Cena with his theories of passing the torch and blah blah blah....and he just launched into a why it was all wrong ramble. I enjoyed Bryan getting squashed and The Rock winning, without feeling the need to disect it like my buddy. I just enjoyed it for what it was.
