  1. I've wondered about this too. Maybe they want to go out on a high note. I imagine that once you're winning quite often, the thought of losing can be panic inducing. And perhaps the athlete returns because they missed the sport and the action so badly. Then again, a part of me thinks it's all just a publicity stunt and a way to make more money. They make bank on that last event and bank when they return. Really though, I think boxers, professional wrestlers, and MMA fighters aren't as quick to retire as they do in other sports.
  2. I know most fans probably aren't concerned about the women's matches and that's why AEW hasn't made it a priority to sign more of them. But, I really wish they had more females with personality AND wrestling talent. Right now it seems to be an either-or situation. That's my only complaint though. I have no idea what's going with Britt. Maybe it's the injuries that are throwing her off.
  3. I like watching Dragon's Den from time to time. It's amazing what people come up with to sell and I find the pitches interesting. I still sorely miss Celebrity Big Brother. It was so tacky, but in a good way.
  4. Most creative work is undervalued today. Many article writers are producing content for free. Some of the most popular sports blogs have been criticized for not paying their talent. Musicians are encouraged to upload their music for free on Bandcamp and Soundcloud.
  5. Someone who matters obviously really likes Corbin. And that's okay. But why don't they teach him? There are few natural talents in this world, most of the greats have to learn how to be great. So teach Corbin. Work with him. Make him entertaining while in the ring. I bet the AEW crew loved HIAC.
  6. Becky and Sasha should've been the main event in my opinion. I surely hope this doesn't turn into a quick disqual match like we've seen before.
  7. At this point I think they need to leave the commentary team as it is now and let them get used to it. There's some good chemistry there and the stumbles will smooth out with time.
  8. I like the NXT crew, I feel like they always try the hardest to connect with fans and give a good show. The last show was pretty darn great, even beyond their usual high standards! It seemed a bit obvious that there's competition for viewers thanks to AEW as NXT went all out. I'm not a massive Riddle fan, but he was truly spectacular and so was Cole. Does anyone know why Tom Phillips is joining the NXT UK commentary team? It seems like there should be a story there.
  9. I just saw that Google is releasing their own subscription service called Goolge Play Plus. That goes on top of Apple Arcade, Nintendo Switch Online, and all the others. What explains this recent influx of gaming subs? Would you prefer to stream your games for a super cheap monthly fee rather than buying them outright?
  10. @ShadowEdge I loved that show and I remember that episode. Nothing beat Marcus showing up in Honcho magazine as an escort and all the tiptoeing that Charlotte did around it. I'm surprised that The Americans doesn't have a better number in their list. I loved that series, but I guess the finale could've done it in. Some fans thought it was a lazy way to end the relationships.
  11. Exactly, @didge, and I'd like to see them get a chance. I'm tired of seeing the same boxers pushed to the forefront. I'd like a long break from Mayweather, Fury, Wilder, and Pacquiao. I know Mayweather is mostly retired, but he still gets so much press that it feels like he's always there. I guess he deserves it though.
  12. Absolutely! I know some people are a bit bummed that it doesn't hook up to a telly, but it's an ultraportable device which has won me over. I just hope the screen size is large enough to play on.
  13. @coleman I've never heard of him until now, so I googled and Feigenbutz does seem impressive. I can see why he's a favourite. Personally, I think the heavyweight British boxer, Daniel Dubois, will continue to rise. He boasts a 91.7% knockout-to-win ratio, but beyond that, the bloke is incredibly entertaining and is ace on the mic. Dubois is only 21 too, so he has plenty of time to make a strong name for himself.
  14. I'm pleased that Shawn Michaels is joining the SmackDown commentary team because that group has needed a shake up for quite some time. I know it's just for the live but if he does a good job maybe they'll keep him on. What are the chances here?
  15. I don't really cook, but I can make some fantastic tea sandwiches in a pinch. At the moment I mostly grab takeaway. It works for me at least.
  16. Working, working, working, hanging out with friends, watching the telly, and petting my cat. I think I have a full life, but if it was up to my cat we'd be attached to each other every minute of the day.
  17. I'm a big baby when it comes to horror flicks. They all freak me out for ages afterwards. It's pathetic really. I only see them accidentally. Someone else will be watching the film and I just can't look away. I get trapped in it. Sometimes I wind up at the cinema to see a horror flick with a friend who didn't want to go alone. @Chuckyy I tried watching the The Blair Witch Project but the shaky camera made me a bit sick to my stomach so I had to stop. I didn't expect Jeepers Creepers to be that scary but it absolutely was! I didn't like the second film though.
  18. @Eversleigh That's just precious! @Zack T I think we'll both be too old by then, since you have to be fit to travel to space, but I'm with you on wanting to go. Maybe you're right and we'll get there.

    Foreign music

K-pop music might be a good place to start because the groups often sing in English on some songs and sing in their native language on others. BlackPink is an all female group made of insanely talented singers and dancers. They are super entertaining to watch. BTS is an all male group that covers many genres. They've created some seriously deep songs that speak to the times we're in.
  20. I shop a lot online, but it's mostly for e-books, movies, and snacks. I have not left reviews since whether you'd like like these is mostly subjective. I haven't ran across anything that's objectively awful, but I might write something if I did.
  21. I have so many thoughts: 1. I didn't realize that USC was that prestigious. 2. These wealthy people weren't paying much to get their kid a guaranteed spot or higher test score. I guess coaching and teaching, even at sought after schools, just doesn't pay enough. 3. Many of these kids came from a long line of highly educated people. I thought some of our intelligence was determined by genetics. Shouldn't these kids have been smart enough to get in on their own? 4. I feel sorry for the kids who didn't know. 5. THIS IS A CRIME?

    Keeping Us Awake

I understand having a uni assignment or work project that needs finishing and the only way to get it done is to stay up and hustle. Caffeine in any form is my 'ole reliable. I don't think it's that bad for your health to load up on caffeine once in a while.
  23. I love him and it was good to see him, but he looked tired and shaky. I felt uncomfortable about it too. I'm sure Ric Flair wanted to be there, but maybe the WWE could have handled it better. There's no telling what all he had to do behind-the-scenes. Standing, waiting, and just generally chatting up everyone. He just seemed a bit tired.
  24. Oh, I adore buttery popcorn at the cinema, hence my avatar, but I have to avoid it at home because my cat loves it too. I spend more time trying to appease the furry beggar than I do enjoying the treat myself. At home it's crisps or some chocolates for me.
  25. This thread took me way back. Are you all old enough to remember those magazines with Nintendo's 800 hotline that you could call for expert help? This was way before the internet and gaming guides/cheats became a thing. I never called the hotline, but the question reminded me of it.
