  1. No, she doesn't photoshop any family members. The entire clan isn't all svelte either, she just loves the cat more. Henry doesn't need her skills to slim him down. He weighs about as much as Fiona, but my mum thinks his grey fur hides it better. Seriously. We've had that conversation.

    Being Pushy

Maybe they're dying for a cheeseburger and are a bit jealous and resentful that you're eating all the burgers and bacon. I can support my friends choices without making the exact same decisions. It's silly for them to be pushy about it with you.
  3. Maybe. However the Chicago police have a history of framing people and fabricating evidence. The Chicago police department was mandated to reform due to their corruption and systemic abuse. I think Trump/Sessions did away with it though. The city owes reparations for some illegally convicted criminals that were regularly tortured with electrical shocks, beatings, and so forth. Many accused inmates were tortured until they confessed to the crime and then tortured afterward just for fun. Don't forget that many people can't afford bail so they're stuck there until their trial. A lot of terrible things went on and the racism has been going on for years. And the police lie about their actions because they know they won't get into trouble or even if they're convicted, it won't be for long. I believe it was Jon Burge who was the commander of the police department who was found guilty of leading the torturing of inmates. Every cop on the force knew it was happening. Not one of them put a stop to it. Burge only did four years in prison. If you're caught with drugs you'll do longer than that. Nothing has changed. I don't think all police officers are bad people by any means, but some definitely are. There have been at least 19 wrongful convictions overturned in the situation that I mentioned about the detective, Reynaldo Guevara, who faced charges for framing 50-51 people. Those 19 individuals have been set free and more will likely follow, however, many of those people have spent years in prison already. That can't be undone. That's the tricky part. The police there aren't trustworthy and Smollett's behaviour seems odd. I'm not sure who is right.
  4. I think so many people knew it was a faked event because a Chicago police officer immediately leaked that information to the public and the media. Now the fact that an officer leaked it is odd I think. I would think it was against their employment rules and I wonder why the officer wasn't afraid of tainting the investigation or ruining the prosecutor's future case. That part I don't get, but maybe someone here can explain it better. I've never been a police officer, so perhaps there's a strategy involved that I'm not privy to. Some policemen and policewomen have been found guilty of fabricating evidence in many areas of the world, and the Chicago police and politicians have certainly had their share of problems in that area. It wasn't long ago that a Chicago detective was accused of framing 51 people or so. Some other officers were part of it too, but Detective Reynaldo Guevara was the main culprit. During testimony Guevara invoked his 5th Amendment rights 200 times and used a lot of "I don't knows" and "I don't remembers." The jury thought Guevara had committed those crimes and awarded one of his victims $17 million in damages. That's what could be happening right now. However, I find Smollett's behavior odd too. While it's true that we shouldn't victim blame, if I was the victim in this case I'd give the investigators anything they asked for. Smollett hasn't been that forthcoming. I don't know what to believe. I was born in the UK, my family lived here on and off and I'm here now, but while growing up I also lived in Australia and the United States for my father's job. During my time in the U.S. a respected law enforcement officer was convicted of staging his kidnapping and torturing himself him. I wish I could share more details about it with you, but I just can't remember more. He didn't seem to have a motive at the time. I hope I'm remembering this right.
  5. Now that's something else. Has he heard of Kiva? That might be a way to show his support for orphaned children without moving to another country. I'm sure orphanages already exist there as they do everywhere. It sounds like a bit of a white saviour complex. His oddity could bankrupt him were he to start sending all his funds overseas. Are you all worried? I guess I should be thankful that my mum's ridiculousness is more mild. I mean your father no harm, Jack T. It's nice that he wants to help orphans even if that's a strange way to do it.
  6. There's been little talk on gossip sites about WWE women who are considering signing with the AEW. I wonder what fan favourite Becky Lynch thinks about it. I never expected it to materialize and figured all the gossip about a new wrestling company forming was just chatter. Competition is a good thing though. I was surprised when the WCW went under, but once it happened the WWE seemed to take both their wrestling talent and fans less seriously. I'm not sure how successful the AEW will be, but I bet it will drive the WWE to step up its game.
  7. Do your parents have any weird habits or other oddities? My mum has two lovely British Shorthair cats. The lass is Fiona and the lad is Henry. Unfortunately, Fiona has always been a bit on the extra fluffy side if you know what I mean, so my mum slims her down with Photoshop before sharing the cat's pic on Instagram. I accused Mum of fat shaming poor Fiona, but she swears that Fiona approves of these changes lest the neighborhood cats start judging her.
  8. Thanks for the info @Mr.Windham29, I knew something would come out eventually. I remember that Chris Jericho denied his involvement several months ago when the rumors first started. That's not surprising, though. It looks like he's collecting a nice paycheck from the AEW for making the switch. Jericho's never been a favourite of mine, but he's definitely a solid performer. I'm interested to see what happens on Feb. 7th.
  9. I never expected to like Shrek and only went to see it at the cinema because my best mate begged me to go. The film was incredibly funny and the plot was engaging. I couldn't believe how enjoyable it was to see. I've seen all the sequels since then and all of them are spectacular.
  10. I took a small break from watching professional wrestling and it looks like I've missed a lot! I'm rather shocked that a new organization has formed. Do we know for sure who is signing with AEW? All I can find is gossip. I wonder if that's why Dean Ambrose is leaving WWE.
  11. Warner Bros. is casting its new Batman film and it will have a new super hero. The film will focus on a young Bruce Wayne. Ben Affleck was set to star in the movie and to help write the film, but I don't believe he's involved at all anymore. I can't say I'm surprised as he seemed to flounder in the role in Batman v. Superman and Justice League. So now that Affleck is out, who do you think should take his place as the Caped Crusader?
  12. @Evelyn, I took the quiz and got the same result as you. Perhaps it's the desire to be behind a gate and mind my own business on that night that got me branded as a NFFA Socialite. That and thinking loyalty is a friends best quality. Surely listening to Korn and donating money to charity didn't trigger it. It's hard not to be offended, though I'm not sure I'd fit any of the other options either. Of course, it's just a silly quiz and doesn't mean much, yet I can't help but feel like I've been sorted into Slytherin house. Jeez. I wish the series focused on some financial crimes like robbery, forgery, corporate espionage, cyber warfare - really, anything non-violent will do. We know from the The First Purge that most of the participants just partied, caused mayhem, and engaged in petty crimes. It was the government, backed by the wealthy who literally started the murders and torture and ensured the targets would be lower-income, minorities, women and other vulnerable people. However, NFFA clearly cares about money. They have the power here. I'd love to see some wheeling, dealing, and stealing taking place.
  13. I don't decorate as I don't have kiddos and it just seems like more to clean around. My poor cat finds the whole thing dreadful, but I enjoy handing out candy and checking out the costumes.
  14. It's my first name. Yes, I'm that creative. You may now marvel at my wit and humour. @ShadowEdge I'm not familiar with G.I. Joe (or whatever it is), but I can see your name fitting in with other spy agents. @Kam I hope you answer this one. @Zack T I hope you answer too. @BamBamsGurlMoo I don't think you explained your username in your intro. I lived in Australia for a few years. I had decent stint in the United States. I've lived in the UK for most of my life though.
  15. I've noticed that this section doesn't get much action. It's about like wrestling, I don't have many real life mates who are into these sports. I still follow several MMA and UFC fighters and coaches and wondered if anyone else does? I'm more interested in the fighter than I am the competition name.
  16. Bright colours are more cheerful while neutral colours are more professional and grown-up. Not easy to pick, but I'm going with bright colours. In honor of the lovely proposal at the Emmys which older wedding themed comedy would you most enjoy watching again, The Proposal or The Wedding Crashers?

    Cult Classics

I've not heard of that one. Did you chance it, Maya? I'm curious as to whether I should send a therapist or cute puppy to help you recover. The idea is so dreadful that I dare not look it up. Yes, I'm a baby. I like a some of the campy stuff. Anything with Tim Curry in it is first rate with me.
  18. I have big feet already and they've worked well for me so far. There aren't as many shoes to choose from, but they're usually loads cheaper in an effort to unload them. Big feet all the way. It's Thursday after work and you've decided to watch the telly and have a snack. What treat do you reach for, something salty or something sweet?
  19. Any "business" that tells you to monetize your friendships is rubbish if you ask me. And the guilt...the guilt is enormous! If I don't buy they won't get their commission check, "free" cruise, promotion, or whatever. @Zack T I don't know anyone who flogs LuLaRoe so it must not have made it across the pond yet. I looked it up and those are the ugliest patterns I've ever seen. Is the toddler look in now?
  20. I'd go for the Tanner family from Full House because they seem so quaint and who doesn't want a funny uncle? Your life is a mess and you keep getting into trouble for whatever reason. Let's face it, you need a fixer. Who would you hire to get the job done? Your options are Mike Ehrmantraut from Breaking Bad (hitman, investigator, tough, ex-cop, has criminal contacts) or Olivia Pope from Scandal (excellent PR and spin, appears calm under pressure, charming, has political and financial contacts).
  21. I'm a dedicated binge-watcher. It's easier to fit programmes into my schedule that way and there's no waiting for the cliff-hanger to resolve. I actually seek out spoilers. If a programme is eventually going off the rails I want to know before I invest a lot of time and emotional energy into it. Though now that I think about it, even if I dislike what the spoilers reveal I keep on watching - Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead are prime examples. The only problem with binge-watching is the ridiculous amount of crisps I eat.
  22. Are there any upcoming movies you're dying to see? This month has been pretty dull for me movie wise. Even Christopher Robin was lackluster. I hope more appealing movies are released in September and October.
  23. Several people I know have been ensnared by multi-level marketing (MLM) companies. I keep receiving "party" invites from those flogging the products. Just between Younique and Acti-Labs, I know about twenty women who regularly gripe about my disinterest and lack of support. Sorry Karen, but it's not a party if I'm expected to buy something from you!

    Prison shows

Well, I suppose that's good to know. I don't know why, but it made me chuckle. I watched several seasons of Prison Break, but it jumped the shark towards the end. I'm still watching Orange is the New Black.
  25. How frustrating to have that happen, milyt g. planet! Hopefully it won't happen again. I don't have a preference between the two really. I've had a game shut off which caused me to lose the match and affected my ratings, but the save function wouldn't have been beneficial in that instance. It seems to me that when a game shuts off, something has either malfunctioned or overheated. With overheating I've found my gaming history usually remains intact and I can start back at the same spot without problems. However, when something malfunctions I'm usually stuck with restarting the game from scratch.
