    So many jobs.

I have three very part-time jobs. I'm beginning to think this is the new normal, at least for myself. For now I can manage, but I'll reassess later this year.
  2. I don't mind predictable stories, as long as there's something surprising about at least one main character. I also like when there's something about a main character you can relate to, even if it's unpleasant.
  3. I'm so glad moviemaking tech is at a point where if a scene shows animals getting hurt, the scene's computer generated. I saw a movie from the 70s where the characters went kangaroo hunting, and it was the real deal. I hated finding that out.
  4. That's so cool! I'm always in awe of the contestants' knowledge. The show will never be out of date, IMO, and it's been the source of some great YouTube clips.
  5. My iTunes library has gotten less use over time. I also have a gift card balance that's been sitting for a few years. I'll wait and see what gets offered once macOS Catalina becomes available.
  6. I talked to a couple of relatives who saw it, and they said it was so-so. One of the better parts was Naomi Scott (Princess Jasmine) and Mena Massoud (Aladdin) singing "A Whole New World."
  7. Shake Shack's mushroom burger tastes so much better than what I expected. The patty's a fried portobello full of cheese and — you can imagine — has more calories than their regular beef and cheeseburgers.

    Black Mirror

The episode that stuck with me most so far is the one with Bryce Dallas Howard, where she lives in a society that's ruled by social media and gathering likes.

    Black Mirror

I just saw the trailers for the fifth season. There will only be three episodes. I'm looking forward to seeing Miley Cyrus, Topher Grace, and Anthony Mackie in their roles!
  10. Right before I start a pot of rice in my rice cooker, I add a big tomato or two mid-sized ones along with salt, pepper, and olive oil. When the pot's done, I add a protein and mix everything up.

    The Old Love Songs

I liked classic pop and rock since I was a little kid. When I first heard the Beatles, my parents had the TV on late, and the movie Help! was playing. I heard the music through the wall and couldn't sleep — not because it was loud, but because I loved what I was hearing!
  12. Burger King will sell its Impossible Whopper later this year. The patty's made of soy and has beef-like texture. The comments reviewers made so far sound like "I can tell it's not real meat" or "If you didn't tell me, I would've thought it was the real thing." I'm curious!
  13. I would like to live in Singapore, because it seems like it's pretty easy to get around there as an English speaker. I wouldn't mind Taiwan, Korea, or Japan also.
  14. A few colleges in my area run a station together. The DJs do a great job playing old and new under-the-radar songs and different genres.
  15. Are you, or were you, allergic to something really specific, and you don't know anyone else with it? I used to get puffy eyes after eating tuna, but no problems with other fish or shellfish.
  16. I know I don't do enough to help with the problem. I recycle but still buy quite a bit of plastic, and my car is old with poor gas mileage.
  17. My mom loves her smartphone's features, but she will never touch her iPad. I ended up taking it home to update it, but I don't think she would care if she never sees it again.
  18. I stayed up 24 hours once in my university days. I promptly bumped another car in a parking lot. I knew I was dazed from not sleeping enough. Never again!

    Foreign music

I occasionally listen to Japanese songs off of YouTube, soundtracks, or music apps. I also have downloads of American hits sung in Spanish, Cantonese, and Khmer, but I haven't listened to them for a while.
  20. I've seen this and variations, like hot lemon water, on fitness sites. It's wise advice but I think I'd rather have tea, coffee, or seltzer first thing in the morning!
  21. Anchovies are way too salty. Bell peppers are too strong. Other than those, I'm up for anything else including newer ones like macaroni and cheese.
  22. I know! But then, USC is near Hollywood and has loads of alumni in entertainment like George Lucas, Ron Howard, and various actors. So, maybe "status" and future job connections?
  23. Yeah, it's the unofficial official option for the rich — using money and/or fame to get their kids into certain schools. What's weird is faking sports profiles. Photoshopping kids' faces onto athletes' bodies, for sports those kids have no interest or intention of playing?
  24. It was so-so. Pacing was on the slow side, and something about Carol Danver's / Captain Marvel's portrayal was kind of leaden, too. The liveliest characters were Maria and Monica Rambeau.

    Snoring Problem

A friend of mine got his tonsils removed, and that took care of his snoring (and apnea, his bigger issue). @Revenger, not sure if your partner would ever need to take things to this level!
