  1. I just sat through a presentation about brand loyalty and how it's set for you as a child. I never really thought about it before, but I suppose I do use many of the same things that mum and dad provided for me as a kid. What about you? Are you still using the same toothpaste, shampoo, laundry detergent, and dog food? Do you eat the same brand of cheese and drink the same type of tea that you had at home while growing up?
  2. I'm a huge procrastinator. I mean to be productive, but I'm easily distracted by things like the telly. I only turn it on for background noise, but the next thing I know I'm five episodes in. I could never work from home. In my opinion, you're alright lymmo since you're meeting the deadlines.
  3. My favourites were Donkey Kong Kountry, Mortal Combat, and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater (Many lasses were into skaters at that time, so I became a skater for a couple of years.) What about you @Ravishing Empire? Wrestling games were much more playable in the 90s! I don't know what happened to the last two releases but both have been full of glitches. At least from what I saw.
  4. I think breakfast is the easiest and the cheapest meal to prepare so I can do a lot with eggs. Spaghetti is another quick and easy fix.
  5. Unless it seriously keeps you from living your life, then I wouldn't worry about conquering it. I'm afraid of heights like you and @Incredible Iron but it doesn't bother me to ride a roller coaster or airplane. I trust those things are safe. I can't climb a ladder or tree though. I figure it's fine.
  6. I grew up Catholic so The Exorcist freaks me out. I think it was you who suggested watching Dumplings as a good example of Asian horror and yes, it was creepy!
  7. I think Ronda is trying to play like Punk by breaking the fourth wall with the fans. Unfortunately, she doesn't have the acting abilities to pull it off. I still think she would've faired better in ROH to start. That or she should have taken a public speaking class. I don't quite get the distaste for Charlotte. She takes wrestling seriously and has decent skills. What is it about her that is annoying? I'm being sincere in asking and I'm aware that everyone has their favourites and those they dislike.
  8. Apparently celebs like Lori Loughlin (Full House) and Felicity Huffman (Desperate Housewives) bribed officials to get their progeny into prestigious colleges. I thought the practice was common among the well-to-do so I'm surprised to learn that it's illegal. What do you think about the news that some celebrities and wealthy people are being indicted across the pond for bribing college administrators? Does it seem overblown to you?
  9. Half the time I can't understand what they're saying. I guess that means I'm into the melody. Is the beat the same thing as the melody? Jeez, let me go google that.
  10. I'd like to meet a sitting Pope before I kick the bucket. I was an Oprah fan until she started with the woo nonsense. I'd be up for meeting though. I bet she and Gale are fun together. I'd like to travel into outer space just once. Maybe SpaceX will have a raffle for us non-billionaires someday.
  11. Go to bed, mate. You'll be able to complete whatever it is you're doing in a shorter amount of time because you'll be at your best.
  12. I'm currently into Fortnite and I've improved greatly just by watching my favourite players on Twitch. I've learned a lot of neat tips and tricks that help further my game.
  13. I'd say it's popular in the UK and Canada too. We have TWO members from these areas who are into MMA. I believe it's also popular in Brazil if you go by some of the fighters' backgrounds.
  14. I just keep at it as it really does take practice. As I go along I also begin to figure out what matters most in the game and will change my strategy accordingly.
  15. @Poppy I totally understand that there's been some bias in that city and it's very possible that it's ongoing, but there's been one glaring detail that I think makes this situation different. Just like us in the U.K., the U.S. treats their celebrities as special, and many act as though they're above the law. I believe those bad things happened that you reported. I looked them up and the jury determined it was the truth. It's awful that police officers broke the law, violated rights, and threw the system into chaos. However, while race played a role in a lot of cases, so did poverty and the lack of power. Smollett isn't in the same situation. He has money and power. It's like comparing apples and oranges. I don't see Smollett's motive at all, but maybe it will come out. @Zack T I think they had a warrant for his arrest so of course he turned himself him. Unless he was going to pull an OJ. Or are you saying that he confessed? I love Empire and hate for it to be tainted with this. I sure hope the bloke didn't do it. It's easier to think that two other blokes were prats than to think someone would play victim for sport and take up the investigators' time. If he's guilty, do you believe his behaviour will set gay people and African American's back even further or will this be viewed as one bad seed among the lot like all groups have? I'm not great at reading American culture. Thanks for reading all of our walls of text. It's hard to follow the action as perfectly when you don't live there.
  16. @Poppy your mum sounds like a riot. I've never heard of anyone photoshopping their pet like that. Does she do the same thing to the people in her photos? Why doesn't Henry get the same treatment? @Boomer I hear you on that one as my dad likes to eat spoonfuls of maple syrup when he can sneak it past Mum. I think butter is delicious, but I wouldn't want to eat it alone. The whole orphanage thing may not be much to fret about. What are the odds that he'll be able to raise all that money, get the appropriate passport, visa, and vaccinations. It will be difficult to navigate an entirely different governmental system, even with help. This orphanage is probably a non-starter. What does worry me is the "marry some woman" bit. I've seen too many episodes of Dr. Phil where a kindhearted, lonely person lost everything they had to a sweetheart scam. I'm sure you've already thought of that and it's not like you can control him anyway.
  17. Jussie Smollett, an actor in Empire, filed a police report near the end of January stating that he was targeted by two masked men who were motivated by racism and homophobia which could make it a hate crime in the U.S. During the attack Smollett says they beat him, poured bleach on him, and put a noose around his neck. Since the beginning, some critics have suggested that he staged the incident himself. The police picked up two suspects for questioning and those men have claimed that Smollett paid for the whole thing. Charges haven't been brought and the two men were released which suggests the police believe their story. It still seems unfathomable to me that Smollett could have orchestrated this whole thing. What do you think about the controversy surrounding Smollett's attack?
  18. It's amazing at how fast they're moving. The AEW was just a whispered rumour not long ago and now they have a stable of wrestlers and shows lined up. @Kam thanks for replying. Another big rumour floating around is that Brock Lesnar is considering signing with AEW, or at least he's using the possibility as leverage, but I figured it was rubbish because the WWE has surely locked him down. Then again, I think his contract allows him to go back to the UFC so maybe it's open-ended and he has more agency than I thought.
  19. I haven't seen that one, but it sounds interesting enough. Which types of documentaries pull you in? Do you mostly stick with the true crime genre or are you asking for general recommendations?
  20. Chris Jericho is on board with AEW, but from what I've read he was part of it from the get-go. There have been loads of names thrown around, but it's mostly just gossip. What I've never quite understand is whether the wrestlers' contracts allow them to compete with different groups or if they're locked into one organization. @Kam do you know the answer to this one? @BamBamsGurlMoo what do you make of Dean Ambrose leaving the WWE? I thought he might be torn up about Roman Reigns having leukemia again and might have gotten a new perspective about life, fame, and wrestling and decided to quit. But maybe he's leaving the WWE for the AEW. Or, perhaps his injury is acting up again. What do you think? I haven't paid much attention to The Shield crew lately.
  21. To be fair, I think Ben Affleck wanted out of the role ever since it first bombed with fans and critics. I can't say I blame him. I think @headrush is straight on about casting Richard Madden in the role. I think Jack O'Connell would be a good bet too. He's young enough at 28 and he's not as well-known, so there are fewer expectations and biases about how he should act. Sometimes it's hard to see some well-established actors as Batman as we've built the hero up in our heads over the years. By the way, who do you think made the most credible Batman so far? I'm going with Christian Bale in the Dark Knight.
  22. My family has no major legacy to uphold. I suppose that's one good thing about being average. One of my best mates is Jewish and he is heavily pressured to fall in line with those beliefs and traditions. Anytime he balks, his parents remind him of his great-grandparents who were murdered at Auschwitz. That's heavy stuff.
  23. I'm waiting for Konstantin to show up again. He's supposedly dead, but we never saw the body. What can I say? Years of watching Micheal Myers and Jason get 'killed' taught me that the bad guys can return.
  24. That's one of the things I totally envy about kids today. They can zone out and ignore their annoying relatives with the use of a phone or tablet. I wasn't allowed to retreat to my room to play my bulky console game, but most everyone today has their phone handy.
  25. @Incredible Iron and @DandyMandy, thanks for the additional Disney suggestions. Being a bloke, I never gave much thought to how Disney typically portrays their princesses. I don't believe my nieces have seen either of your suggestions so I'll pass that along. Actually, I'll probably just buy both films for them since I love playing the role of cool uncle.
