  1. The prices on basics are astronomical and so many shops have already been cleared out. It feels like the government's and the public's responses to the virus will be more deadly than the virus itself. With nothing to buy and people out of work, how long will it be before rioting starts? And this time they'll be breaking into regular homes since the shops have already been cleared out.
  2. It's hard to believe that we're nearing the end of another decade. How would you sum up the past 10 years? What would be the decade's tagline/motto? I'm going with, "The Great Divide," a no one sees eye-to-eye anymore.
  3. Wow, I've never heard either of those, but yeah, it would bug me too after a while. Is it a gamer thing? I game, but I rarely pay attention to what's said. Some guy can be very vulgar. I just ignore it.
  4. No, I didn't even realize he was still around. I loved watching his comedy routine back in the day, but it's been a while since I've seen him in anything. Is he on SNL regularly now, or was that a special episode?
  5. I'm extroverted and prefer to go out with friends. Well, except for when it's frigid outside and then I can't be bothered to budge from the blankets.
  6. Film franchises seem to take a life of their own and draw an intense fan base like a moth to a flame. It feels like there's so much riding on the big finale that it's almost impossible to wrap things up successfully. Have any of the big franchises managed it? The last installment in the Star Wars franchise is sure taking a beating by most critics and fans. Do you think it was destined to fail from the start or did the director just make some big mistakes?
  7. To be fair, I don't know if he truly intended to make the phone call and just got distracted by the text messages or whether it was a ploy all along. It's so strange to me. @Ogmore, I was shocked to see him sitting there scrolling and scrolling through my messages and I snapped at him. He offered me his phone to look through. Said he didn't mind it. I find it baffling. You really wouldn't mind if someone was looking through your texts when they had asked to make a phone call? Keep in mind I've only been dating the bloke for a month or so.
  8. A bloke I'm dating asked to borrow my phone as he'd forgotten to charge his. I unlocked it and handed it over, went to do something else in the flat for a few minutes, and when I returned I caught him reading my text messages. Am I being unreasonable to say that's not on? I was actually quite peeved at his snooping around. He didn't even make a phone call, which is why he asked for my phone in the first place!
  9. I love Christmas and would never consider not going all out for it. I adore everything about the holiday. It's the one time of year that people seem to practice "good will towards men." And that's sad, but I'll take what I can get. I see nothing wrong with skipping Christmas if it's not your thing though. @Boomer it sounds like you're doing loads really. It's thoughtful of you to buy pressies for your nephew and niece even when things are tight, and the wine sounds lovely.
  10. I'm a bit sick of hearing, "the life of Riley," "I did a thing," "all the things," "literally (often misused)," and "legit". "Super (adjective)" is overused as well, but sadly, I find myself using it all the time. It's super annoying.
  11. I need to start wrapping Christmas pressies. I meant to do it last weekend, but I helped my mum and dad with their decorations instead. After that I just couldn't be bothered. I binged several episodes of the new Nancy Drew series instead and unfortunately, it requires my full attention to in order to know what's going on. Right now I'm supposed to be working. I'm on TWO instead.
  12. So, Kylie Rae asked to be let out of her contract with AEW to get herself right with GOD, but I'm pretty sure I've seen her on Impact wrestling since then. What's really going on then? Is Rae the first wrestler to walk away from AEW? As far as I can tell, she hasn't trashed the promotion or anything like that. The reason she gave for quitting is suspect though.
  13. @ShadowEdge, probably because he's a cruiserweight. I missed the first bit because my mum rang and I couldn't get her off the phone. Asuka turning on Charlotte Flair and her team was fun. I'm not into Pete Dunne, but he puts on a good show and so does Adam Cole. This was the best finish from all the matches in my opinion. The Fiend is still able to take a merciless beat down and come out on top like much like The Undertaker during his heyday. It's wearing thin at this point, though I liked the bit with The Miz and Daniel Bryan backstage. Keith Lee is getting a big push. Reigns looked fantastic. Baron Corbin still brings nothing to the table. And I can't wait to see what comes out of the Matt Riddle, Randy Orton situation. Hoping for a fued. Didn't watch Brock Lesnar and Rey Mysterio. That was the time to get a snack. The Women's Championship wasn't terrible, but not what I expected. The crowd was hot on Shayna Baszler and Becky Lynch. Cool move by Baszler when she threw Becky. Why did Becky go on the attack afterwards? It made no sense.
  14. That's okay @jack25, I didn't know he had gotten married either. Good for him and I hope it works out. I'm not a fan or a critic of the bloke. He was never really on my radar. I recognized the name from the rag mags, but don't recall seeing a headline about his marriage.
  15. @jack25 Lewis, but I thought it would end with a KO after a serious, but quick brawl. They both usually went straight on the offensive in every other match they'd been in. Not this time. Did you watch that one?
  16. Right before El Camino came out I binged the last three seasons of Breaking Bad. The programme ended in 2013, so I wanted a refresher before the film. Had GoT ended decently, I would've binge-watched it and had actually planned on doing so. I couldn't take the ending though. Really, the whole last season was rough. I do this all the time, and each time I swear it will be the last. Curse you Netflix.
  17. Sure. He's played a vampire before and in some fictional tales bats turn into vampires and vice versa, so it's like he's been the understudy for Batman all along. Plus, Batman's love matches have always appeared awkward to me and so did the overwrought relationship between Pattinson's character and his love interest in the Twilight franchise. So yeah, I think he can handle it
  18. Francis N'Gannou vs. Derrick Lewis at UFC 226 in 2018. Both fighters were known to be heavy punchers who weren't afraid to brawl. The fighters gave us a fantastic buildup before the competition trading shoves and barbs. Their match was one of the main events. And after all that hype and interest the match itself was one of the dullest I've seen. They didn't throw down and go at each other as expected. The whole thing was strange. Lewis prevailed, but it was nothing to brag about. Blood is just part of the game and sometimes, a quick TKO is what makes the bout memorable. To me, a bad match is one that doesn't meet expectations which is entirely subjective of course. Lots of people hate short bouts and will agree with you that it makes for a bad match.
  19. The cancer hoax accusers were a small minority of fans who were just particularly rabid about it so it seemed bigger than it was. I did find it odd that Vince didn't capitalize on Reigns' newly found fan support, but it doesn't seem like Vince has grown cold on him either.
  20. Did you know that you can get certified as an aromatherapist? Yep, it's a thing. I don't really go for all that, but the smell of coffee and bacon always gets me going in the morning.
  21. I noticed and wondered, but if something had happened, surely the gossip blogs would've picked it up by now. Nothing stays secret in the wrestling world. I bet Reigns has a lot of other projects going.
  22. Really? I feel like he's finally coming into his own since the switch. Reigns was always pushed ahead when Ambrose was the one the crowd wanted to see and hear. He has charisma and now he can show it off. I even like his ring name better.
  23. I've always been impressed too, and I'm usually as snarky as can be when it comes to reality programmes. But then again, I'm not much in the kitchen, so maybe that has something to do with it. Anyway, she's complained about the dishes not being inventive enough and the judges picking winners for the drama that they bring to the table. In other words, she thinks this season hasn't focused enough on talent.
  24. Which actors and actresses make you do a double take when you learn how old they are? I recently saw Ad Astra and it's astonishing how fantastic Brad Pitt, Tommy Lee Jones, and Donald Sutherland still look. It's like they've barely aged. There's loads of celebrity women who still look so young as well like Jennifer Lopez and Sandra Bullock. What is their secret?
  25. Same here, @whaleshark. We don't have much longer to wait thankfully. I have a close mate who watches regularly and she's been disappointed in this season's contestants and in the judges' decisions. But, she's always been a bit picky.
