  1. I had no idea. Are we talking Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, or MTV again? Daria was a surprisingly good show. It and King of the Hill were both amazing. I swear show writers have run out of ideas. They're creating clones, remakes, and shows based off of books now.
  2. I'd like another sitcom remake. Maybe something lighthearted like Alf or a cartoon sitcom like Daria. Then again, maybe our old shows weren't renewed for a reason and it's better to look for something new.

    Console Wars

I play apps on my iPad and iPhone, but I'm a Nintendo girl at heart. Nintendo got me while I was young. That's what they do!
  4. I adore her too. She's a mess, but then I look at her parents and can understand why. Both are willing to sell her out for a dime. Both are addicts themselves and encouraged Lindsay's addiction as well. Despite all that, she's really a talented actress.
  5. Multiplayer games haven't become overly simplified because there's another person or team involved. Otherwise, the latest versions of Mario, Donkey Kong, and Dark Souls II are easily won. Plants vs. Zombies is easy to win. It might make your fingers tired, but it's fairly simple to figure out the winning strategy. Even at their hardest level of difficulty it just feels like games are easier to win now. Part of the satisfaction of winning is figuring things out. There has to be a struggle in order for it to be satisfying - at least to me. Maybe I'm just getting older and gaming difficulty hasn't changed. Of course, kid me would find it harder than adult me. I didn't mean to imply that all games are simple to beat. Every version of Zelda seems tougher than the last. The overall trend feels like games are getting easier to win.
  6. And the show that spawned it, Toddlers and Tiaras, was equally as trashy. It actually went off the air for a few years, then came back on a couple years ago for a trial season just in case the public was actually ready for that mess. Turns out we weren't and it wasn't renewed. I sadly tuned in each week. Hey, I'm not above listening to a frumpy housewife yelling at her tween daughter to "shake it" for the judges.
  7. Lindsay Lohan is supposedly planning and starring in a reality show that will be on MTV. It's going to be similar to Vanderpump Rules and will feature Lohan's Grecian nightclub. This got me thinking - what would you say has been the trashiest/tackiest reality series to grace our televisions? With so many reality shows already on-air, do you think there's room for another reality foray in the lineup?
  8. For the women, I think Cris Cyborg is ridiculously overrated. She's failed drug tests in the past and the only thing she has going for her is her size. That's the perfect way to sum up GSP!
  9. I can handle it when an athlete tests positive for something like marijuana or another drug of that nature, but I lose respect for those who come up with performance-enhancing drugs in their system.
  10. Are games getting too easy to beat now? It doesn't matter what genre the game involves, they all more easily winnable with each new iteration. The latest Donkey Kong on Nintendo Switch was ridiculously easy. Has anyone else noticed this trend?
  11. Same here. I'd like to jump 50-100 years into the future. I think the world will look radically different. It would be interesting (and depressing) to see how global warming has affected all life-forms. I also want to see what the political stance looks like in the United States and to see if a female has been elected president during that time.
  12. I'm excited about some of the upcoming movies and feel that they're different enough to be intriguing. I think Tim Burton's version of Dumbo will be incredible. Dumbo is one of Disney's darkest films and Burton thrives in that genre. Supposedly Disney won't be using real elephants in the film which is a big plus to me. I'm not sure about The Lion King either @The Wild Things. I saw the Broadway musical and it was spectacular. I don't think that magic would translate into film though.
  13. What changed your mind about weddings, HighlyLogical? I think weddings can be lovely and it really just depends on the couple. I change my mind fairly often with one exception - politics. I've even switched religions a time or two. That's a mighty big wind-up without sharing the band and the song. It was a boy band wasn't it?
  14. That was the most ridiculous relationship because they had nothing in common. Had the show continued you just know those two would've gotten a divorce.
  15. Do you lose all respect for an athlete caught in a doping scandal or do you give them a second chance? I'm always surprised when it happens. Do you think the fighters actually believe they'll get away with it or is it accidental?
  16. I dislike the relationship between Joanna and Chip Gaines from the HGTV program Fixer Upper. They have several young kids to look after and Chip acts like a child himself. I don't see how Joanna stands it.
  17. I don't know how to cook anything and neither did my parents. We ate a lot of fast food and restaurant dinners. We also had frozen dinners, soup, and sandwiches. Lunchables are a family staple. Highlylogical, I never once thought of those potential problems and now you've made me paranoid. Can I come over for one of your home-cooked, germ-free meals? I promise I'm clean and in good health. I'll also wash my hands while I'm there.
  18. Half-Life 2 had a great story, but it's pretty old and I haven't tried the newer versions. Escape the room style adventure games usually have a compelling plot. They were super popular a year or so ago and there's lots to choose from.
  19. Do you remember how difficult the original Super Mario Bros was to win? When you ran out of lives, the game was over and you had to start right back at the very beginning of the whole thing.
  20. I can't handle people who come into our workplace sick instead of using sick leave. I also cringe when a person coughs into the open air.
  21. @The Wild Things I can bury my head in a book and completely lose track of time when the story is compelling enough. Is the trilogy by Justin Cronin worth reading even though the last book isn't the best?
  22. "Hate" is a loose term here. I always start watching a reality show because I enjoy it. However, as time goes, things usually take a turn a season or two later - personalities change, shows experience a cast shake up, producers start giving someone else the bad edit, cast members start to act differently because they're more aware of the camera, or someone makes the news for bad behavior. It's all about the snark. Heck, competitions are great for hate-watching too. The competition starts off with amazing competitors but someone gets too cocky, or a judge gets rid of a fan favorite, and there's all sorts of conspiracy theories that abound.
  23. I recently finished "Why Kill the Innocent" by C.S. Harris and it's worth a look if you're into Regency era mysteries and suspense. The whole St. Cyr series is intriguing and C.S. Harris does a great job of keeping me guessing as to how it will end. There are 13 novels in all, but you can jump around and each book can be read as a standalone without too much problem. Some of the novels are darker than others. Which two books are you about to finish, @The Wild Things?
  24. I'm a big fan of reality TV, but I'm on the surprised bandwagon with you. Often they'll show teasers for the next episode that will seem dramatic and interesting, but after the break, it's obvious that the producers mislead the viewership. Plus, with social media the way it is today, the stories have already been spoiled. Enough people still tune in though to keep them going.

    Gun Control

I'm a supporter of the second amendment and think people should be allowed to own and buy guns without any hassle. However, I do wish they'd do away with automatic assault rifles. I don't think it will happen since there is too much money involved. Is gun ownership more common in the United States? It sure feels like it is.
