  1. Well, I can't base it on songwriting capabilities. Elton John composes most of his own music, but he doesn't often write the lyrics. That's usually done by Bernie Taupin. It was the same with The Who. Peter Townsend wrote most of the lyrics, not Roger Daltrey. For some reason, I tend to lump vocal ability and songwriting ability together. Because if you created the lyrics, surely you'll sing them with more emotion and it will sound better. Since that won't help here, I'm going to say that Roger Daltrey is the better vocalist by default since I've always thought of Elton John as a master pianist, rather than a talented singer. It really doesn't matter since Adele beats them both.
  2. Wilder lands fewer punches, but he also hits harder, which does a lot of damage and almost knocked Fury out during their last bout. Plus, Fury doesn't know what he wants and doesn't seem dedicated to any one pursuit. One minute he's a WWE wrestler and the next, he's fanning rumors that he's looking towards the MMA as his next adventure. Fury is all about the money rather than the sport itself. He's just a brand. All of that coupled with Fury's previous drug use and I think Wilder will come out on top. I think most bookmakers are saying that Fury is slightly more likely to win, so I could be very wrong.
  3. In your situation, I'd wait until the PS5 was released, then I'd buy the PS4 at a steep discount because you know they'll go on sale. I'd go with the PlayStation over the Xbox in general because it has more games to choose from. I wouldn't jump on the PS5 as soon as it comes out because it's bound to have problems that will be fixed with firmware updates within the first few months or so.
  4. "Just Shout Out Your Need" thanks to the rise of Alexa, Siri, and Google Assistant there's no need to ever google again, to ever hunt for a song again, to ever remember something important again, or to ever go to the store again. You can be super lazy. Just should out your need. Of course, it's unfortunate that all these devices sound like cheerful women who are thrilled to serve.
  5. I'm not as into it as I was the last time they fought. Now it just seems so commercialized. I think Deontay Wilder will take the win, but it will be a hard battle for him. Do you guys think they'll last through all the rounds again?
  6. I like to rewatch easy shows like Roseanne, King of the Hill, Family Guy, Sex and the City, and Will and Grace. None of them require much concentration, so I can get on with other stuff like cleaning or working while they're on.
  7. People seem to have really strong opinions about The Rise of Skywalker, which is a little humorous. I like the movie, but it left a lot of things unanswered which was frustrating. I'm not that intense about it though. I think it's tough to please all/most fans and move the plot forward without creating more holes in the story. As far as a good finale goes, El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie was excellent. It answered many questions that the TV series had left hanging in the air. I really enjoyed that one.[/i][/i]
  8. No, I don't support any form of gambling. I've heard that matched betting is a big thing in the UK though and it seems like a good way to earn cash if you're good at it. Have you guys tried it? I'm the US and it's not a thing here since gambling is pretty restricted.
  9. I took dance lessons from the time I was four - tap, jazz, ballet, and modern. I started teaching dance classes in high school and continued through college to help fund my education. I've picked up extra money in the past by teaching engaged couples different dances they could perform during their wedding reception. Being able to dance made life easier when I was younger, but it's not something I care about now. I would've loved to see that! So, did it pay off at least?
  10. I'm not into exercising or riding a bike, but I'm super into the Peloton bike. Seriously, their ads suck me in every time. It's nothing I'd normally be interested in so it fascinates me that they're able to make me want one. If I had a Peloton bike I'd never get on the darn thing and I'd grow to resent the monthly fees.
  11. It's the hashtags that kill me. It's not my thing, but I can handle most of the mom stuff like #momlife, #proudmom, and the like. But I draw the line at #girlboss and #mompreneur (both usually MLM related). I also dislike #boymom (usually used when the boy is misbehaving).
  12. I don't do enough on my end to help the environment and I know I'm dead wrong. I offset the selfish, but convenient choices I make through the Carbon Fund. I also plant trees, make my own compost, and practice no-till gardening. It probably still doesn't balance out. I've never had anyone get on my case about it though.
  13. Old school? I'm going with Jimmy Page because he wasn't afraid to experiment. Late 70s-90s? I'm going with Joe Perry from Aerosmith because he has a distinctive style that's not commercialistic. 2000s-today? None come to mind. Who are the great guitarists today? Izzy and Axl wrote most of their music and it's a shame that Izzy doesn't get much credit for it. This thread mentally sent me back to Guns 'N Roses' heyday. Remember Axl Rose and his love for boy shorts?
  14. Congratulations! I love to hear about it when someone sticks with a goal. I find it motivating. So, which books are favorites from the 15 or so you've read so far?
  15. I could never be a teacher as I lack patience and I'm not good at explaining things. I could never be a nanny as I don't like to be around children and I wouldn't know how to entertain them. I could never be a cop because I'd feel guilty for giving people tickets. What's on your "jobs I could never do" list?
  16. What? I can't believe no one thought to pat me on the head and tell me that I'm not lazy. That anyone would struggle to walk into another room for some scissors. Jeez! Okay, let the record show that I bought six pairs of scissors and that I've since started a recycling thing of sorts where I give the airbags to my friend who sells on Etsy. Yeah, the boxes are remain, but still...
  17. I hope AEW sticks with a smaller roster. They need more women, but overall I like it when promotions keep the talent pool pretty narrow. It gives fans a chance to get to know the wrestlers and lets them have a deeper, more complete backstory. I'm still catching up with the group, but I easily remember who is who. On the other hand, WWE's roster is too large to become invested in more than a few of them. I wonder how long most of us will judge everything one promotion does by how the other promotion does it. Probably forever. I know I still crank out, "well, when the WCW was around..."
  18. I'd like to think that I'm a productive person, and I am when it comes to work, but I'm lazy when it comes to everything else. It hit me yesterday afternoon. I had several boxes from Amazon because I can't be bothered to go to the store. I was frustrated that I needed scissors to open the boxes which were in the other room. After being brave enough to take the long lonely walk to the kitchen to retrieve said scissors, I was irritated to find those little plastic airbags inside every box. I went to stack them up in the spare room when low and behold, I realized the room was already overrunning with the things. Because I'm planning to reuse them? Nope. Because I can't bothered to cut each one, squeeze out the air, and carry them out to the trash. That's just pathetic! Do you ever have those moments when you realize you're just being lazy? What's your most lazy habit? I'm off to dispose of some airbags. I bet it will take a whole 10 minutes of strenuous work. Shoot, I've got to retrieve those scissors again. I could order enough scissors to keep a pair in every room, but that would just bring more airbags. Yeah, I've got to fight this laziness.
  19. I only go when the city is threatening to cut funding because no one uses it. It feels wrong to close down the library since it's one of the only free resources around where everyone is welcome. Even if no one wants to go today, they might need it tomorrow. At least that's my thinking. I donate books and spare cash to the library from time to time to help a little.
  20. @Zack T That's a good point, but to be fair there are often issues with the card. Sometimes it's a last minute thing and there are some that go without being promoted or discussed. A match will be announced then it will change, or there'll be a last minute surprise guest, or a surprise tag-team match, or star is supposed to show who doesn't, or whatever. Last year (I think) the arena for HIAC leaked the card info in advance which caused problems with the audience knowing the feuds and winners of matches during the weeks leading up to HIAC. So I guess it's reasonable to think the WWE was keeping the information quiet, but had big things planned. I mean, didn't AEW have more viewers than NXT (with some veteran stars) the Wednesday before? The HIAC card could've been thrown together after that in an effort to show off. Vince is said to be naturally competitive after all. I get what you mean about the whole thing though. As an aside, I'm beginning to like AJ more and more. He's good at selling it.
  21. I'm still aggravated. I would've been happy for either Seth Rollins or The Fiend to win. I knew it was going to be a great match either way. What on earth happened to that ending??? Has a stoppage/DQ happened before just like this one? If so, I can't recall it. I figured something must have gone wrong and one of them was seriously hurt, thus the reason to stop the match like they did. But nope, it doesn't look like it. The crowd was furious.
  22. Oh, I felt so bad for her while watching Glitter. Someone in Mariah's inner circle should've pulled her to the side and told her to scrap that movie because it wasn't coming together. I love Madonna and I think she's an amazing entertainer, but her acting isn't good. I think Jennifer Hudson is probably the best at balancing both skills.
  23. Right, but I think the question is why should anyone pay for that art, when it's easily obtainable for free. I think that's one reason we have so many Instagrammers who risk their lives for that one great shot to upload on social media. It's a way for the photographer to make money through their skill. No one is necessarily buying that specific image directly, but it brings viewers who help earn ad revenue and affiliate money. To be honest though, I have no idea how photographers used to earn their keep except for those that took school pictures. I've just never been curious about the industry and I have no camera skills to speak of.
  24. I just don't understand why they go after regular people who are boarding planes with lots of other people. They have to get somewhere and they're using the resource responsibly. It's the equivalent of carpooling in the sky. Why not focus on shaming the politicians, the super wealthy, the religious leaders, and the movie stars who fly on private jets instead?
  25. I'm from the South and I don't like country anything. Unfortunately, it's about the only genre that plays in public settings like stores and theaters. There's nothing like doing a little shopping while listening to a song about a dog getting shot and a wife running off.
