  1. I can see it being a good idea for those who play on many different devices. You could access your favorite games and still maintain your spot in the game across all devices. It would also be cheaper since you wouldn't need to buy the game for Switch and then buy it again for PS or Xbox. I'm not speaking from experience, but that's how I envision it working.
  2. I don't think many people watch music videos, do they? I think having a catchy hook and crafting the right image matters more than it used to while singing talent matters less than it used to. Courting the press and social media matters much more as well.
  3. I never got The Office. It just seemed weird. My favorite is probably Roseanne - the old school version before she got all nutty. From the list, I'll go with Sex in the City and The Americans.
  4. From that list? I guess I'll go with Sex in the City, though I disagree with their best episode pick. There are many fantastic episodes to choose from, but one of the best was in season 6 when Samantha Jones pretended to be Annabelle Bronstein just to access an exclusive pool. It was hilarious when she got called out on it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HkKF4ghkfm8 @coleman is that much older guy from Lost still married to that much younger girl? I can't remember their names or I'd Google it. I've never seen the show, but I remember that controversy.
  5. I bet your breathing isn't as noticeable to others as you think it is. What game are you playing and which gaming platform are you using? Do you prefer to use a wireless or wired headset? Knowing the answers to those questions will make it easier to make recommendations.
  6. The only wrestlers I really know are Jericho, Kenny Omega, Britt, The Young Bucks, Page, MJF, Moxley (who looks oddly bloated), and the Rhodes crew. That makes it harder for me to feel invested, but I know that just takes time. The women seem tougher than the WWE gals for the most part, but other than Britt and Brandi, it's hard to differentiate between them. I REALLY want to like AEW and I want the promotion to succeed, but it's just a tad goofy. I hope Renee Young doesn't follow Moxley. She would be okay for interviewing the wrestlers backstage, but I'm not a fan when she's on the commentary team. I hate to say that though, since she was the first female to join WWE's commentary team and sometimes she does well.
  7. That's true @jack25 but most of the 3D movies on Blu-ray discs include a free digital download to the 2D version. So you get both versions for the price of one. I've never worn prescription or reading glasses so maybe that's why the 3D glasses got annoying. I don't think they're making these televisions anymore, so I bet the TVs are hard to find and I doubt many new 3D Blu-ray discs will be made. It's the end of a novelty TV.
  8. I don't think AEW will pick someone with close ties to the origins of the company. Not a heavy investor, company executive, founder, or whatever. That would be too similar to a WWE move and if that happens, why would talent sign with AEW? Those wrestlers might as well stay with WWE or one of the other promotions that have been around much longer. I think AEW will attempt to set itself apart by going in another direction. They'll be more "fair". So I'm going with Jon Moxley. He's already got a big name and lots of experience. He's great with promos and crowd interaction. He sure seems happy and ready to take on the wrestling world since he left Vince behind. @Zack T You named just about every guy. You gotta narrow that list down. Well, I'm not the OP, but I'm genuinely curious as to who you think it will be since you've been following them for some time. Can you at least go top three please? I initially dismissed the rumors that AEW was ever going to be a thing. I'm glad I got that one wrong.
  9. The 90s was my gaming golden era I guess. Young enough that I had time to endlessly play video games and old enough to finally get good at it. Mario Kart and Street Fighter are the two I look back at most fondly from that time period.
  10. I agree to an extent. I'm a Microsoft user for life simply because that's what I learned to use as a child. I know many people who have said the same thing and I suspect that's why the company is so generous to schools. For other products, using the stuff I did as a kid brings that nostalgia factor, but it's hardly exciting like the new things that are being made today. Now that I think about it, I am a loyal consumer of quite a few brands. Coke, Kraft cheese, Little Debbie snacks, Jiff peanut butter. Those were all products my parents chose over the competing brand and I also favor them over the competing brand.
  11. I have a 3D TV and there's a good selection of 3D movies on Blu-ray that I enjoy, but I don't bother with it often. Part of what makes 3D so appealing is that it's unusual. Like watching a premium version of the movie. Viewing 3D often takes away that uniqueness, or maybe my brain just adapts and the cool factor no longer registers. The glasses get annoying as well.
  12. How so? A myth is something unproven but widely believed, whereas scientific evidence is proven. You can't share an unproven story 15 times to have it become scientific evidence. I'm so confused. A myth seems more like a question or something left up in the air that's widely believed even though it's wrong. A legend is more like a tall tale and instead of a question or leaving things open-ended, it's more of a story. Scientific evidence is something you can prove that refutes or supports a hypothesis. Open-mindedness is a state of being. I'm sure I'm missing something and am just not getting it.
  13. Congratulations! That's really awesome! My neighbor has tried out twice. He made it to the first round, where they basically sit and chat, then have a practice session. He's never been called to be on the show though. He said it's tricky to time the button just right. Do you know when your show will air? I was so glad that it was a woman who beat him. Our current political environment has me celebrating anytime a woman wins anything at all.
  14. I hate to hear that. The problem with streaming is that you never truly own the music. You're just renting - indefinitely. Thanks for sharing this. I probably would've skipped over the information otherwise and failed to back up my files.
  15. @macroclick I haven't thought about Forumwarz in a long time and now I'm wondering if it was the training ground for the alt-right. It had to be the best parody game ever, but I got bored of it pretty quickly.
  16. Apple initially blew things out of the water with their iPhone and it took other manufacturers some time to catch up. By then I was brand loyal because I loathe change. I bet a lot of people fell into that habit. I don't think the operating system itself makes that much of a difference except that iOS is supposed to be safer because it's a closed system. It's hard to compare that though. It's the hardware that matters most in my opinion like having a speedy processing chip and plenty of storage space. You can find equally great hardware options on both branded phones.
  17. That's sweet of you to ask, Snarky-Guru! I wound up getting her an antique cheval glass mirror and a topaz jewelry set. She liked her gifts, but she was upset that I didn't include flowers and that my card wasn't effusive enough. She would be miffed no matter what. The best part is that she'll have no need to contact me again about her gifts like she did with that iPad. I'd say that's a win! I'm just glad my gift giving obligations are over until December which starts the cycle over again with Christmas.

    Mortal Kombat

Part of the fun of Mortal Kombat is just the nostalgia rush you get from playing an old childhood favorite and sharing it with the next generation - your kids, nieces, nephews, and younger cousins.
  19. @Dust and Rust and @Snarky-Guru you both made me chuckle and I appreciate the laugh and helpful gift advice. They do make freestanding floor mirrors. Maybe I'll get her one of those and pair it with a set of earrings and a necklace. @Ogmore mothers in the U.S. are idolized and vilified, revered and shamed, all at the same time. I suspect that's true in most of the western world. I've never considered how much is common to spend on the holiday. I just know my mother demands...well, everything.
  20. I think you're right about that. Maybe it will come down to Cersei and Arya. I still think Cersei will keep the throne. I wish Theon hadn't died. I adore Davos, so I hope he hangs in there. Jaime didn't come across like the great strategic warrior he's supposed to be. I felt the same about Jon and Daenerys. I think Grey Worm will die next. He survived the battle, but just as soon as he thinks he can breathe, he'll be killed.
  21. I checked to make sure that the UK celebrates the holiday too before making this thread since the forum is based there. We Americans just celebrate the holiday a little earlier in the month. From googling I learned that many countries actually celebrate Mother's Day just on different dates, so it looks like we're all in on this together. How do you feel about Mother's day? Is it something to dread, something to look forward to, or something you ignore? If you have kids, how do you guys celebrate the holiday? I have a narcissistic mother and our relationship has always been tumultuous. Mother's Day is like this huge test. Prove your love or else. Yuck! I haven't even bought her a gift yet. I need something that appears expensive enough for her, but won't require more effort from me down the road. I bought her an iPad Pro last year for Mother's Day and it was a nightmare. She called day and night needing me to help her with it. Needless to say I'm dreading the occasion! I'm sure Mother's Day is hard for those who have already lost their mom and those who are estranged from their mother. I bet it's tough to handle and I wish you nothing but peace.
  22. I love sweets! I eat straight sugar out of the bag. I consume sugary treats all day long. The only problem is that much of it stains my teeth like gummy bears, for example, so I have to snack on things like Mentos at work and save the really good stuff for later. I'm not into chocolate though.
  23. I've been quite fond of Canada for quite some time and could see myself living there. Australia would be a good place to land too. I would enjoy looking outside my window and seeing kangaroos.
  24. Lots of supplements are laced and over the years, many, many, many athletes have failed drug tests because they took supplements, used creams (Brock Lesnar), or whatever. It's not like fighters don't have notice that they're risking a ban when they take something. So why does anyone do it? I think some of them are taking an educated gamble. Some of them know that the seemingly innocent supplement also has enough of a PED to give them an edge and if the fighter doesn't know it, the trainer probably does. So they're just rolling the dice that they won't be tested or that it'll be out of their system in time for the test. Don't forget that the UFC can grant exemptions and it's not like all athletes are tested anyway. I'm sure some are completely innocent and some are not. Not punishing them wouldn't be fair to the other fighters who didn't use the PED and are perhaps at a disadvantage because they followed the rules. The USADA at least gives the athletes a chance to show that the legal supplement was spiked with a PED. It's usually called adulterated, mislabeled, or something of that nature. The FDA busts supplement makers all the time. When the athlete produces the supplement, the USADA gives them a lighter suspension and the whole thing allows those fighters to clear their names. They can claim they weren't aware the supplements were adulterated. And it would be darn hard for anyone to prove otherwise.
  25. Possible spoilers if you haven't seen it. Who will be responsible for whose death on the Game of Thrones? I guess that sounds morbid, but fictional bodies are dropping left and right anyway, so we might as well have fun with it. I've been oddly invested in the Game of Thrones series and I've remained firmly on the side of Cersei Lannister since the very beginning. Yes, she's pretty evil, but she's a product of her time and the environment she lives in, so much of that wickedness is understandable. And she's dedicated, tough, and cunning. The Iron Throne belongs to her. However, if she's bested, I believe her death will be at the hand of her twin brother and sometimes lover, Jamie.
