Best as Batman?

Much like the Superman thread, who did you think was best as Batman?

 

Adam West, the campest Superhero (never mind Batman) EVER?

Michael Keaton, darkest of Dark Knights?

Did the wooden Val Kilmer rock your (bat) boat?

Oldest Batman played by George Clooney?

Maybe the recent performance by Christian Bale got you rockin Robin?

 

Of course there have been others in various media, but what did you think?

Michael Keaton definitely loved the films with him in it

Keaton - Really good movies with him.

 

Whereas Kilmer was dreadful and Clooney just too bland.

 

Christian Bale is good though; just not on Keatons level.

I liked Keaton, Bale is good but not there yet, I liked Adam West but he was too hammy. George should never have taken on the role he was aweful.

I voted Adam West as he was the shizzle but Bale is my favourite actor now and play's the part very well.

I thought Keaton, Bale and Kilmer did good jobs.

 

Bale and Keaton though stand out in my mind, but since I have to pick one, it has to be Keaton.

i didn't really enjoy Keaton's Bruce Wayne but he had that psycho look about him so was a good Batman. I think Bale pulled off a good Bruce and Batman but I would still say Keaton over Bale as I prefer his Batman to Bale's Batman

I thought Keaton was perfect in the role. Val Kilmer wasn't too bad either. I can't compare Christian Bale to them because he plays Batman/Bruce Wayne in a completely different way.

I dont follow this logic, its the same character so why cant you compare them? If they are played differently then its a comparison between how they were played and which worked better. No?

Okay if you ask like that I'd prefer Keaton. I think his style suited Batman better. Plus the first movie is the definitive. IMHO

Having re-watched Batman Begins last night I have to say that I found Bale quite poor as Bruce Wayne, but I really enjoyed his growly Batman.

Bales Wayne is a young whipper snapper whose not really taken to his multi millionaire lifestyle.

 

I found Keatons and Kilmer made it always look as if Wayne had something to hide, i think we'll see more of this from Bale in the Dark Knight.

 

But i loved Bales Batman.
