Overcoming your fears

You must have heard it said that the best way to overcome your fears is by facing them. I am both claustrophobic and acrophobic but I have never been able to get over them. Did you ever succeed at overcoming yours?

The treatment of facing fears may work with lots of people, but not all. I have a fear of heights, and that is why I always take the seat beside the aisle or in the middle when I ride the plane.

I used to get incredibly nervous about public speaking and performing (music recitals as a kid). This gradually got better over the years. What helped was just keeping at it and getting away from worrying about what people might think.

I was also incredibly shy and would get really nervous about public speaking. In high school, I would avoid performing at events such as talent shows. However, I have gotten much better by doing it over and over.

Well, it now makes sense to say that you can only overcome your fears only when they are tackled head on.

Back in the day, I also struggled with public speaking but over time, I learned to overcome this. You have to cultivate that sense of self-belief and courage.

Overcoming certain fears is not as easy as perceived and most people struggle with this for a long time. I wasn't the best public speaker but over time, I have continued to get better through practice and mental conditioning.
