  1. :lol That is FANTASTIC ! And which one of the three companies in question are still in business ? Now... what's the lesson we've learned today children ?
  2. See I quite enjoy it - but I first had a VERY good lecturer and second I'm quite a wordy writer myself. Mill is very much "why bother with 5 words when 30 will do the job just as well". Just trying to juggle both with my exam only a fortnight away is leading me to learn very little from either :P
  3. So at the moment I'm reading John Stewart Mill's Utilitarianism and John Locke's Second Treatise of Government... My big problem is that the Locke copy I've got has a variois editor's notes; and one says "X" while my lecturer never mentioned "X" and rather put incredible emphasis on "Y"...
  4. I know Britney was terrible. She's young and mental (ha, my sister I mean... not Britney. She did look a bit eugh especially after the video package before)... I blame puberty... As I will EVERY wrong opinion she has for the next 5 years.
  5. I am sitting in the living room, X-Factor in the background and my little sister sitting on the edge of her seat. I've just been told that Ruth should've went through and Owen singing High School Musical was, in her words, "cr*p". Eleven years old... oh, sorry, twelve... seemingly... the mouth on her... I had to break her heart about Britney miming as she was too busy enjoying the performance. Along with that, seemingly Miley was rubbish... The little sister wants to know how other folk feel about the little chap in JLS - if he's hot or not... Gud, I don't like watching my sibbling grow up :(
  6. I don't really care that this 'issue', on the whole, has been sorted... This comment really got up my nose; what the hell do you mean "depend on what he classed as a wrestling fan" ? Which he ? Me, Curt, Larry, Mr. Perfect, John the lad who fixes the toilets ? As my comment was "So's Mr. Perfect... point ?" I'd assume you were talking about Curt Henning. Soooooooo you're saying that Curt being a legend depends on what he classes as a wrestling fan... :doh32: Please, go on, say more... if you're not big enough to put your opinions across don't bother mentioning them in the first place !
  7. HHH still has had 8 (about?) more years of his body getting beaten up - my point still stands.
  8. HHH has been working, at least, 15 ? That's almost double AJ.... a few more years to get those injuries together. REAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL bad example.
  9. So you would rather work once a week in a British company for £20 a night and get to do whatever the hell you wanted and yet always seem to job... compared to the WWE as a main eventer, through merchandise alone guaranteeing you money for life and booking behind you 100% ? I mean, if we're going to create these kinds of contrasts... then we need to create the biggest of all the contrasts. I want to hear your logic underlying this one... please... Also what Jimmy said :)
  10. I apologise, my comment about you being selfish was more thinking about the wrestlers themselves. Like, you'd rather they go 110% every match and be around for 10 years, leaving you with few stand out moments, than take it easier, get a long and fantastic career leaving with you fewer absolutely incredible moments. Because AJ does the same few spots every month... he doesn't do anything new anymore. A few years (2005-ish) it was amazing and seemed to be inventing new spots every month... yet now in TNA the revolutionary company, I don't watch it and see particularly new things. What are 'the motions' exactly ? These, surely, must exist in TNA-type matches as well (which, arguably, I feel you get in many multi-man matches with them nowadays) ? To say that you like TNA because they seem to want to make the company something compared to WWE is ridiculous... these men and women have DREAMED of making it to the bigtime and are desperate to become the next Rock or Austin. I've probably missed a few points you made so feel free to repeat them while missing any points I made - actually probably answering by quoting this paragraph alone and attempting humour to no-ones appreciation.
  11. See, it's not a different style. It's two attempts at the same attack. Why, in your opinion, is a few spots in a cruserweight matches half assed ? Is it not preserving the wrestlers health for as long as possible - is it not making those INCREDIBLE moments that little more special ? I think you're, to be frank, horrifically selfish when it comes to your 'appreciation' of (modern?) wrestling.
  12. Oooooooooooooooooh did you see that ? No, no, I don't think you did.... It was my point, going riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight over your head. I'll spell it out for you. WWE occasionally have a big bump - the fans go apesh*t and talk about it for years and years (hey Shelton Benjamin). TNA, for example, do crazy stunts every month - the fans can't remember most of them specifically and if the company decide not to include them suddenly the matches are boring or a disappointment. Who really has the advantage and mastered a real talent ?
  13. ACTUUUUUUUUUUUUUUALLY what those other companies are doing are watching and going "How... how the hell do they get a WOW for something that we do on the way to the ring ?" Watered down - or mastered ?
  14. We're not saying that their stuff was AMAZING or ORIGINAL. All we're saying is that they have a fair talent. We're not saying they're the next Chris Benoit or AJ Styles or whichever crazy X-Division wrestler you love... Sonjay Dutt or whatever... Rather many feel that as a total package, Miz and Morrison are not to be undermined for their skills. Especially compared to the MCMG who, as a team, lack charisma and proper structure to their matches. Sure they have some great double teams and can fly about like monkeys... but there's really no story to them. Also, on a note of why M&M are better: what's the difference between Shelley and Sabin ? Now what's the difference between Miz and Morrison ? Exactly....
  15. And that's why WWE is smarter than spot-dependent companies. Cause when Miz and Morrison do it WOW - they are huge risk-taking high-flying young guys. Compare that to indy feds where everyone is taking crazy flips and bumps and jumps and twists and turns and... oh... another Mr. Generic...
  16. GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH. You know what - an opinion can't be wrong, you're right... To argue an opinion is for me to say "You don't like X"... which is of course ridiculous. Opinions ISN'T what we discuss... we look at the reasons that underlie those opinions. You NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVER EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVER (thank you Y2J) put over the foundations of your opinions. THOSE, the reasons and the ideas, can be argued and proven wrong - with them your opinion. People who believe that opinions are some sort of unarguable and undeniable magical creation really don't understand the idea behind discussion. And you're incredibly guilty for it. And so this post isn't complete venting and moaning; Shelley during his Generation Next/Embassy stuff in RoH was top as well. AND unlike wrestling where a talent can make a less off guy look good, speaking is either there or not... Shelley has it.
  17. What makes Miz and Morrison any better speakers than Shelley ? The entire Paparrazi Productions bits against The Dirt Sheet - both are absolutely brilliant. I really REALLY don't get this ridiculous idea that "just because it's my opinion, you can't dare criticise it"... You NEED to back up your 'opinions' (oh magical shield - save me from all) or else they're nothing but jibberish. Saying 'IMHO' doesn't do anything... because you still base your totally honest and wonderfully legitimate opinions on something... when you FINALLY tell us what these foundations of belief are, then we can get somewhere. Gud, debating isn't hard...
  18. Shelley is... to be quite blunt. He's a very entertaining speaker - great charisma about him and a very sharp wit. If you're going to support a man, then damn well do it properly !
  19. Him and the entire WWE roster from what the internet tells me... :roll
  20. On the talk of With Teeth - I absolutely LOVE "The Line Begins To Blur". At the moment ? The Doors - YUM! Specifically "Not To Touch The Earth" - their best song.
  21. Now... why can 'a few' TNA matches show the 'Art of Pro Wrestling'... and yet absolutely NO WWE ones can ?!? :doh32:
  22. But why should the majority take priority over the minority ? It's all just opinions - none more important than anyone elses. If the minority were constantly ignored and thrown aside then we wouldn't of had the various moral reforms (black/gay/women rights) - and I'm sure you'd agree that would be wrong...
  23. Santino damn well COUNTING DOWN THE WEEKS UNTIL HE'S THE LONGEST REIGNING CHAMPION EVER GIVES THE BELT CREDIBILITY ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Him being so damn desperate to become a part of the history books, because he knows that he deserves nothing less makes the belt seem important. As Belty said, you want to see him lose. He makes you care. What makes a belt credible ? People seem to be so hung up on the idea that ONE man and ONE reign can make a belt credible (see: Shelton Benjamin, Kofi Kingston, lots of other folk who haven't) then, really, all you need is for Santino to hold it for a while before throwing it to a 'serious' wrestler :roll and suddenly the belt will be credible... Or at least that's the theory isn't it.
  24. But, but, but, but, but, but, but don't you remember the glorious reign of Shelton Benjamin ! Remember when he made it a proper serious title again and everyone was just waiting for him to break into the main event picture... No, neither can I. Just because Santino isn't a frickin' WRESTLER doesn't mean he's making the title a joke.
