  1. "Can we have a less unbiased host ?" So... can we have a MORE biased host ? ..... Would you like them to be more pro or anti TNA ? Have I misread this... somebody, J-Rock, Mitch... somebody... is he seriously asking for somebody who WON'T call this fairly down the middle to review the show ?
  2. Do you even know what I asked in the first place... I mean seriously ? Cause I'm sort of losing track myself, and I'm the one who put it forward... :lol :lol :lol :lol Now children, gather round, because there's two very important points to take from this... 1) So... WWE's legend panel is legitimate but... their Hall of Fame isn't ?! How is it down there in that hole you've buried ? 2) Hayes did nothing noteworthy. Maybe he was a good wrestler, technically, but nothing that will be remembered in another twenty years time as a moment of wrestling history (Insofar as Jay is concerned)... so why should he be in the Hall of Fame over the kajillion other midcard nobodies ?
  3. Now you've very cheekily changed argument. Subtle, but it's there. We started arguing whether Taz would or would not wrestle. NOW you're trying to argue that TNA will try and get a match out of him. I think that Taz won't wrestle even if TNA ask him to and offer him lots of moolah as he's in too good a position personally to risk it. However I'm quite sure that TNA will at least suggest the idea to him on the off chance that he'll agree to it. Very naughty of you Mr. Funk, decide what point we're discussing and stick with it (until someone proves you wrong and then sidestep to somewhere else).
  4. Oh, well thank Gud for that. That's answered my question on Koko B. Ware.....
  5. Who the hell DOESN'T enjoy Hernandez and his power-stache ? He uses the freakin' Border Toss and as you said does suicide dives (and is so skilled that he can kick out of Sting's finisher without the commentators even raising an eyebrow - like a cat, like a cat)... what isn't to love ?
  6. Foley is a TERRIBLE example because he's a glory-hog, he loooooooooves attention does Foley. Taz seems much more self-assurred and quite aware of where he stands in the world. Also, Taz is a good commentator... Foley, not so much. Taz also commentated for nearly ten years (it must be about that ?)... Foley, what a few months ?! Come on Jay, try a bit better...
  7. I'm unconvinved... what made HAYES so great ? He had music, that seems like a bad reason to induct someone as one of the true 'legends of the sport' (ESPECIALLY from a man who is a fan of WRESTLING~~~!!! like yourself)... Saying they feuded with the Von Erichs doeesn't say much; for Gud's sake if you wrestled anywhere in the South in the 80's you feuded with one of the bl**dy Von Erichs cause they were everywhere. Didn't Hayes manage the Hardys for a while back when they sorta' were going somewhere in WWE ?! So did Hayes as a manager come from his friendship with them or did his friendship come from the paycheque WWE were giving him to manage the Hardys ? You also didn't give me any reasons for why the Freebirds were one of the best factions of all time ? I dunno... none of this is super stand out material convincing me that Michael Hayes deserves 4 or 5 pages of maddening debate (before you all jump in I know Hayes isn't actually the point of debate, but let the sentence lie).
  8. Terry Funk and Taz are two very different beasts. Terry Funk is crazy. Taz isn't. Terry Funk has wrestling running through his blood and doesn't understand what "stop" means. When doctors said to him "Dammit Terry, your knees are knackered and if you suffer another concussion you might drop dead right in the middle of the ring", Terry Funk replied "Well f*ck it then, I'm just gonna have to start hitting harder and stop letting their f*cking punches land." Taz is a smart guy who's been commentating... keep that in mind COMMENTATING, as in taking no specific interest in his physical well being (so those bones will have healed at an okay pace as the rolls of fat appeared around them to keep them safe), and realises that his best days are behind him and doesn't want to tarnish his own legacy. Taz is a recognised commentator - he can now make good money from this, why the hell waste your time in the ring getting beaten up when you're nowhere near the right state anywho ?! Terry Funk is crazy... just once again, in case you missed it.
  9. From the old hall of fame thread I'm interested in what people can offer me about one Michael Hayes - what the hell has he actually done that makes him HoF worthy ? Like, I know he was a part of the Freebirds and did the whole "any two of the three defending the belts" schtick and was a pretty fine talker in the day and had theme music which a lot of folk weren't really doing... but can anyone (Jay especially please) tell me what makes him so great ? I'm genuinely interested, cheersy.
  10. :wallbash: This is f*cking ridiculous... To anyone who's going to continue trying to get through to Jay, I wish you the best of luck.
  11. Exactly, a World title becomes one when you are defending it across the world, not neccesarily AGAINST the world.
  12. I like to imagine that for more than 12 hours you've been laughing non-stop at that poster. Poor J-Rock, will end up in a coma if he keeps going... I hope they design the entire PPV round the GoW theme - so like the video packages will have all the roster in costumes, running about and shooting one another etc. etc... could be vair, vair entertaining :lol
  13. Not really, because one of the tag titles in TTD don't belong to TNA - so it's not 'in TNA', rather 'in the world'. But the winner of that match can't be most dominating in the world because another team hold some sort of irrelevant title in a completely seperate match. Sheesh. :lol at the second part of your comment, I want a Jarrett promo when he says "Seven (not sure how long they've been about) years ago, seven long years ago when I formed TNA... when I, the owner and former and originator of TNA, created TNA - the one thing that I wanted to do, the one dream that I had... well, it was to have Sting fighting Foley." I can just see it now :sml7:
  14. How can they call a match Tag Team Domination when they have another Tag Team title match later on in the show ? I really want to see Foley/Sting - really, genuinely want to. This has the making of something horrendous and I can't wait. Having two women's matches on the PPV bores me. To be honest, overall, I'm very disappointed with the lack of unnecessary gimmicks.
  15. You can only order them off the internet, I'm sad to say, from America - you can find them at smartmarkvideo.com I hope. Dr. ZERO is a pretty big fan along with Reno - if you throw either of them PMs I'm sure they could recommend shows or whatever else :) They, however, have a myspace that they update weekly with podcasts that are great for keeping you updated and have little bits of matches and whatever else.
  16. As a continuation of the grammar argument I was having - I've been informed that "Night of Extreme" is actually wrong as you can't use an adjective after the word "of" - and it should instead be some kind of noun. I did try to argue with the person in question that WWE had, for want of a better phrase, noun-ified the word. My example took me to an Extreme Rules match - in much the same way as you'd have a Ladder match or a Tables match... there was a different definition behind the word in the WWE Universe. She wasn't having it though. So I sort of possibly detract early statements that it was correctererer :lol
  17. It still sounds more grammatically correct than "Extreme Rules" which sounds either like a half-finished sentence or a weakly put together statement. I didn't say that "Night of Extreme" was flawless, just that it sounded better.
  18. Because "Night of Extreme" sounds more grammatically correct.
  19. Electric 6 - Flashy, the new album. Hmm... I can't help but feel just a tad disappointed. Gay Bar Part II is all kinds of awesome though, if a little short m'feels.
  20. NO - the argument is Kurt Angle doesn't sell finishers. To then say "Well Trips does it is as well" doesn't actually rectify or defend the fact Angle does it. The ONLY way it would have any relevance was to say that "the non selling of finishers is how wrestling has generally evolved as we can see from the examples of x,y and z." But it hasn't, you didn't, instead you look just a tad silly. Ach well.
  21. And more importantly what the hell does Trips or Hogan have to do with Angle ?!?!
  22. Just as a follow on from DC's: <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value=" name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> I'm almost sure someone gets landed on that isn't supposed to...
  23. I think it's sloppy as well. As I stated, the spoilers stated a TOP ROPE Canadian Destroyer. The first one was not a top rope Canadian Destroyer. The second one is. I feel I've succeeded in some life goal, even if it was a little disappointing when I got there.
  24. I remember a few years ago spoilers of a TNA PPV reported that Petey Williams delivered a top rope Canadian Destroyer to AJ Styles... I thought to myself "HOLY F*CK ?!? I'VE GOT TO SEE THIS !!" What I got instead was this... <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AgcfBt0viqs&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AgcfBt0viqs&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> What I was expecting... was this... <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value=" name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> I'm happier having found the latter.
  25. "The Blueprint" is such a terrible, terrible nickname. Just dreadful.
