Just watched the Hogan/Sting match from '97. Yeah, THAT one. And... like... I just cannot believe how they booked it. Just... what on Earth were they thinking?! I mean, really? Seriously? It's incredible to see such a hot crowd be beaten down over the match - Gud, just plain idiotic.

I've seen them twice and just... Gawd, they're incredible. The last time I saw them, they pretty much played non-stop for the entire time they were on stage and then did a ridiculously long encore... really well and truly worth your money :D Ahhh, yeah, man in the mood for some gypsy punk :D

I have just re-fallen in love with Gogol Bordello. They're coming to Glasgow the beginning of next month, think I'll have to see if tickets are still available.

I adore Wrestleicious - for about a month my brother and girlfriend have been singing the song sporadically. It's when you see things like this company you can't help but think "maaaan, wrestling is just the f*cking greatest thing in the world".

I came up with swimming as an exception to the rule - so yeah, as the last line of my post says, it isn't perfect and I was aware of it but for it being 2/3 in the morning it was far as I was going :lol.

But that's the same with everything - the way you've defined it then every single job in the world is a sport (which miiiight be an unfair assumption as to what you're trying to say). In everything, people generally try to outdo each other - that doesn't make things a sport... although it often makes things very entertaining (atcha-cha-cha). I was discussing with my brother about why I still wouldn't consider dance competitions (since I'd used dancing as an example above) as a sport even though it's competitive and we came to the conclusion it's because the dancers never truly come face to face with their opponent in any sort of physical or quasi-physical (tennis etc. I'm looking at you) way... That's actually still not a perfect definition but I won't bore folk with that.

Sport must be defined in some shape size or form as competitive - I mean, just for example you wouldn't claim that dancing is a sport but that has the same sorts of physical demands that wrestling has... so yeah; physicality does not a sport make. As for me, I think Johnny-boy as he so often does for me said it pretty much perfectly. Wrestling is entertainment and it dresses itself up as a sport (ie. genuinely competitive) to further the entertainment aspects for the fans.

The funniest thing about Jay talking about how bad Chikara is, for me, when he bummed to hell the woman lady wrestler using a puppet in a promo. "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH, IT'S A PUPPET IN A PROMO - WHO THE HELL WOULD THINK OF THAT, HAHAHAHAHA." We get it Jay, it's a woman or it's TNA therefore it's the badger's nadgers. Chikara, on a seriously related topic, is awesome though. I've never had a chance to look into DDT properly, which makes me sad :(
