Just been watching the NHL Premier games highlights on C5 - held in our very own Millennium Dome (Aka the O2) also go to watch the Guildford Flames when I can. Although NHL wise I'm a Redwing fan.

I was just wondering if there were any fellow hockey fans in TWO?

I do like some NHL action now and again, just for the punch ups. That's where my interest in the sport comes to an abrupt end though.

Initially it was the fights that hooked me, but the game itself is fast and furious - and there are some real vicious checks and hits! Great fun.

Flyers, Sens, and Sharks fan. Been a fan for around 17 years and probably my favorite sport to watch.

Bet it's great to watch the best in the world live! My nearest Ice Hockey is the Guildford Flames (who are basically top of the second division) I assume PA is Pennsylvania.

Still Guildford is great fun.

Cheers. What I want to know is how the Hell Basingstoke got in the Elite league when Guildford were refused. Guildford have a better record and a bigger venue (Olympic size rink at Spectrum)

Nice to see the Redwings are on a roll :) How are the NY Rangers doing?

Watched a great match from last night, Toronto and Pittsburgh. Excellent game.

I've only really recently just got into ice hockey, along with baseball. My favourite NHL team is the Calgary Flames. :xyx I've still gotta learn all the rules and stuff, but it is a really fun sport to watch.

Ice hockey was a really big thing over here for a year or two when the Belfast Giants started up. I know quite a number of people who used to regularly attend their home games, and a few even joined the Giants's youth teams. But now that the novelty's worn off, nobody really cares any more. I haven't heard anybody mention ice hockey in ages. Which is good, because I can't stand it. I've tried watching it a few times and it's a challenge just to actually see the puck. And the fights are a bit crap really.

I learnt the rules from playing NHL videogames!

Yeah there's the odd ******** who trys to make out he still goes to every single match but it really has died down.

Then again I think it's a worthy night out if your bored of hitting the clubs; get plastered then head to a Giants game..you might even enjoy it :D

Just spent the weekend catching up on a few NASN2 games I had recorded. Still have the game from Saturday night to watch as well.

Did anyone see the Sean Avery V Darcy Tucker fight from the Rangers v Toronto game? Man that was a slobberknocker!

I watch it, watch as many games as i can on NASN/Setanta.

I have followed the maple leafs and penguins for years. I check on the Newcastle Vipers results too and hoping to go see them at the metro arena sometime soon.

I've seen a few Ice Hockey games on the sports channels from time to time. It's okay, but hard to see the puck. Coolest thing I've seen is the guy who had his throat slit in the middle of a match. Mucho bloodo!

I agree that it's hard to follow the puck, but believe it or not you miss so much if you try to focus on it. A lot of the spectacle of hockey is seeing guys get taken out with ferocious checks, skaters skating into space to recieve the puck - pushing and shoving and fighting, this often happens away from the puck. Plus you get the idea when someone scores!

I read about the guy you're talking about. He was a goaltender and someone fell in front of him and their skate sliced his carotid artery - if you notice now, goaltenders have a plastic neck guard under their masks.
