Snoring Problem

There are many solutions given on the internet to resolve the snoring problem, but most of them are only treating the symptom and not the cause of the problem. Do you have a way to treat this problem as my partner keeps me awake at night due to her loud snore?

Sometimes I snore when I'm sleeping on my back. I don't think it's happened in other sleeping positions. Also, I think I snored less when I weighed less. Health can play a role (allergies, having a cold, alcohol habits, etc.)

Thanks for that insight, I may try to change the sleeping position of my partner when she starts snoring. I guess I'm the one needing the alcohol so that I would be so drunk that I won't hear the snore any longer. Edited March 3, 2019 by Revenger

I've heard tonsils can play a role in snoring. If she still has hers, she may need them removed for breathing issues.

 

It could be other things too, of course. I'm not doctor.

A friend of mine got his tonsils removed, and that took care of his snoring (and apnea, his bigger issue). @Revenger, not sure if your partner would ever need to take things to this level!

I used to snore when I was a lot bigger, it could be a reason. Not saying your girlfriend needs to lose weight but I am just saying this was my issue. But my dad, for example, was always very fit and he snored, but his nasal passages were too small. This could be your girl's issue. I am not sure if changing sleeping positions will help if this is the case.

Loud snoring can also be a sign of sleep apnea, so she may want ring her GP. It can be very dangerous if left untreated.

It did not help at all because she got angry with me when I was trying to change her sleeping position. I have recorded her snores, and she was surprised that she snored that loud. We will ask her physician whether she would need a medical procedure to treat this problem.
