Anyone watch this movie? I've got to say that I thought it was a great movie, but unrealistic at times. It really pulled on my heartstrings.

I will probably rewatch it when it comes out on DVD.

Thoughts on it?

Watched it in the theater and thought it was great. Saddened when it went from 2 heroes to one. I loved the scene where he found the woman and orphan, very touching. At times, it was unrealistic but still great.
This was great. My favorite scene is when the soldier sings "Wayfaring Stranger" in the forest. Sad and beautiful — the song and the men.
I would definitely recommend 1917, but not sure if I would rewatch it. The intensity I feel the first time I see a war story wears off the second time.
I must admit that movies have not been my thing in the last few years, but after checking 1917's plot, I am interested in watching it. Do you choose what to watch based on IMDb ratings and the producer in question?

I tend to rely a lot on IMDb ratings and also make the decision based on the producer in question. To date, I still watch any movie or series produced by JJ Abrams. 1917 is a definite must-watch!

I never check the ratings. I like to see for myself. I'm a huge war movie fan, so I knew I wanted to see this. I believe I saw the preview when I was watching Midway.

I agree with KaliR. I don’t like checking the ratings as well. I don’t want to be biased because of the ratings before I actually watch the movie. I like war film as well, but I was a bit too busy for films lately but I’m sure I will check it out later. I’m pretty interested in this one.

I like this approach because it gets rid of biases and skewed opinions. Sometime back, I watched a movie that the majority of viewers had given a bad rating, but that appealed to me. It is in the same way that trailers can be misleading.
