I have bought the DAYZ standalone Alpha on Steam for £20. The reviews alone sold it to me. Will review once the ****ing thing has downloaded.

So, I have only run into zombies so far and they've bugged on the AI side so 50% have stood there as I sliced their faces off. Not met any players yet but not all that surprising as I've probably not hit a major population hub as yet. It is fun though, it's a bit like survival mode in Minecraft but with less building and more running about screaming as a zombie jumps out at you.

 

I also lost my shoes....

To be honest I prefer Fifa on a console as I just think it works better, but if your PC can handle why not I guess.

Met my first couple of real players, the first knocked me out and the second shot my face off. I think I have learned a lot about what to expect in future and how much I need to get a gun! Still pretty pleased with DAYZ so far despite the DC's and alpha whatnot.
