Me and the other half watched the theory of everything tonight. We both liked It. Wont be everyones cup of tea but its gonna do well. Completely expecting eddie redmayne and the actress playing his wife to get Oscar nominations

Watched Argo again over the Xmas, such a great tense show.

Nightcrawler again. It's awesome in every way. I highly recommend it.

Finally got around to watching Transformers: Age of Extinction and it was pretty good (if far too long). The Dinobots kicked arse when they finally showed up too.

 

A lot of the critics who gave the film (which was the highest-grossing of 2014 if anyone's keeping count) negative reviews complained about it being about robots hitting each other. It's a Transformers movie; what else would it be about?

Sky Action over the past weekend showed all five Die Hard films, back to back, in a loop. On Sunday I sat there and watched them all. It was awesome.

i know alot of people have said it was rubbish but i watched the amazing spiderman 2 last night and enjoyed it.

By a considerable margin; Transformers took US$ 1,087,404,499 while GotG took US$ 772,655,258.

That Transformers movie never seemed a big deal to me, amazed it made so much.

Agreed, even the ending of the movie is sooooooooooooo different than the book.

im glad the remake is going to be made in 2 parts. with near 1400 pages in the book thats alot to work with.

Birdman. Birdman is awesome. Go see Birdman. Michael Keaten can have all the Oscars, retroactively, just all of them. Best Animated Short 1962. The lot.

Movies this year had a distinct lack of poe faced descriptions of being gay, black, disabled or in the Holocaust, so the nominations are wide open, and it's been said that he's probably the favourite to win Best Actor right now. Edward Norton and Emma Stone have been nominated for a bunch of pre-Oscars awards too, although I think Zach Galifanakis deserves a bunch of metal objects too.

Battle of the Five Armies.

 

People can say what they like about The Hobbit films, but I loved 'em. They're not LotR, not even close, but they're very good still. Lots of feels packed into the last twenty minutes and only one proper ending. :lol

Deserves all the awards and then some. Tragically beautiful. Brilliantly acted. Made me thankful I was born when and where I was.
