I used to suffer from Agoraphobia, the most debilitating phobia you can get, now im freeeeeee :)
In all seriousness, what do you fear when you suffer from this? I mean, I know people are scared to go outside, but there has to be something in general that is outside that you are so scared of...what is it?

As for me, I hate needles, I hate large, thin spiders and I f*cking HATE flying. And before anybody asks, yes, I've flown, over 100 times. I just dont like it. Being couped up in that death tube for hours with the possibility of plummetting 36,000' to your firey death.

Sewing or medical? Or both?
Medical. I can stitch up a couch cover and things like that no problem, and I can pick up and hold a medical syringe/needle not a problem, its the actual act of getting an injection that freaks me out, I HATE IT. I cant watch it in movies or on TV either, people getting injections. Makes me feel sick.

I really like big heights. I have an anxious fear that's so very fun to embrace. I feel pretty safe, but is so fun to embrace the nervousness of it. Very satisfying.

I have a terrible aversion to not just popsicle sticks... but tyhe though of holding a popsicle stick between my teeth and pulling it out, letting it grate across my teeth. :eek It makes me cringe really bad and I have to bite my knuckles until I think of something else.

I have the same thing about accidently biting a fork whilst eatting. I'm glad I'm not alone with that sort of thing.

My only real phobia is I'm absolutely terrified of sharks. Hate them with a passion, and hate seeing pics with their razor sharp teeth. If I saw one in the flesh I would probably have a heart attack before it even had the chance to attack me.

Yeah? I thought I was alone there. I can't even watch someone use an emery board, either.

One came after us on a walk, and almost killed my Brother. When it was attacking him, it seemed like it really wanted to cause harm. I had to witness it when I was quite young so they've scared me ever since. But Ive always thought they were horrible animals in the first place.

Yeah its called a fear of drowning :lol

Ill settle with that. Who needs big fancy science words anyway!

I'm not frightened of being at a tall height... it's just being in a position where I can't control if I am to fall or not from said height that scares me...

I am scared of Doll's, the life like ones you can today that can sense your presence and wake up and talk, well they scare the bejesus out of me. But I am scared of all dolls and that goes back to my childhood....

I am deathly scared of Escalators, I mean I can get on them if forced but I stand there still and ridged and will not walk up them and certainly not go down them, I'd take the stairs instead.

I hate all flying insects with a passion, with the number one dreads being the Wasp and Hornet. I don't flap about and cry or anything like DS does with Spiders but I have to either kill them or get the hell away from them.

I have used to be scared of them but once I was stung (the only time in my life) during a footy game whilst playing left back for no good reason (the Wasp flew into me, objected to my presence and stung me) I got wary and started to murder the sods instead of ushering them out of the window...

Then one day a wasp survived a fireball, smashing with a yellow pages, standing on with the yellow pages AND being sucked up into a Dyson.... it even flew at me whilst on fire!

After that I try all I can to make sure they are DEAD and stay that way.

I have a fear of Doll's, any type. I used to be tormented when I was younger, and it didn't help that my mum used to have a large collection on show... I couldn't stand to be in the room on my own. I thought she had thrown them away, I went into her room to the washing basket a few weeks ago, and there was one inside of the washing basket which caused me to rush out the room in a sweat.

Spiders and ALL insects/bugs/anything gross I have a phobia of too.

I am really paranoid when I see somthign that scares me, and I wont be able to sleep that night. Just the other night, I was flicking through the channels and Arachnophobia was on, I saw a spider and had to quickly switch it over. And that's when I thought I felt somthing crawling on me. :/

There are a few other things, but they are the main ones. I'm such a wimp. :(

[EDIT]:Though of another horrible one.

I also have a slight fear of staying in the house on my own, considering I'll be doing for a whole week soon. Mianly due to myself getting scared by my own imagination.

When I was young I had the same fear as Gringo with escalators. I blame the public safety add that showed kiddies wellies and shoes getting all munched up by the sides of escalators. I literally had to be carried up them till I was about 6 and then I'd only stand stock still in the middle until I fell over the lip at the end or jumped a good3 foot away from the end.

It was a recurring dream I had when I was a child. I'm at work just now, but when I get home tonight I'll go into detail.
And now that I am home from work, into detail I shall go.

I used to have a recurring nightmare when I was about 6 or 7 years old. I was in the living room and watching The Muppets on TV. When it had finished it was time to go to bed, so I would. But I knew "they" were in there. If the light was on before I entered the room, they wouldn't be able to touch me, but I always had to turn it on myself. So I would open the door a little tiny bit and sneak my hand in to flick the switch, hoping they wouldn't notice the door being ajar. But every single time I thought that this it, my hand would be less than an inch from hitting the switch, almost there, and I'd get grabbed by a brown furry hand.

This hand, as you can guess, belonged to Fozzy Bear. He would drag me into the centre of my bedroom, which had been changed into the set of The Muppets, and he would beat the living sh*t out of me for hours. The rest of The Muppets would form a circle around us so that my parents couldn't see what was going on and would cheer Fozzy on as he kicked and stomped on me.

Kermit would stand on a plinth and tell Fozzy what to do in regards to hitting me, and would then step down when he felt I'd had enough and get Fozzy to throw me on the bed. At that point, his brown face (with that stupid f*cking bowtie) would peer down from above and tell me to get a good night's sleep as he didn't want me too tired for tomorrow night.

That scarred me a little, so much in fact that I'm shaking while typing this out. I know it's stupid, and I know that nothing will happen, but it still terrifies me when I see his picture or catch a glimpse of him on TV.

I actually hate Beltmark at the moment because of his avatar, and won't be able to read a post of his until it's changed, so I need to block him.

You see, if you all were superheroes right now you'd be in my evil death traps after I'd exploited your weaknesses.

As DC has found, you tell people what scares the bejeazus out of you, someone's going to test the theory...

Muppets the lot of you*

Big arachnaphobia problem. I'm fine with little ones, but bigger than say a penny and that's too big. I can't stand pictures of them, and I hate hate HATE how any story about a spider is accompanied by a picture, because I usually want to read about it, like that massive web in texas or wherever a few weeks ago, or the spider with viagra venom. I guess it's a know your enemy thing. I cant kill them though, cant get near enough to them. I should get one of those spider catchers, but I'm convinced I'll still be too close to it.

I dont even like typing the word taran-you can guess the rest. A year ago or so a couple of people had got sent them in the post and I was quite paranoid for a good while after that, especially when I got and unexpected package. Ugh, and I saw stuffed, framed ones in Portugal. Gross gross gross gross gross.

Half the time before I go to sleep I'll end up thinking about them, and imagine them crawling over my bed. I have to turn the light on and shake out my duvet to make sure. I hate being this scared of them, it sucks. :(
