Over on his official blog, Michael Bay has announced that Transformers 3 will arrive in theaters on July 1st, 2011, not 2012 as others (including Bay) had speculated. Originally Bay had wanted to take some time off from Transformers to shoot a smaller film called Pain and Gain, though someone or something (a giant pile of money, perhaps?) convinced him to instead bang out a third Transformers movie and then move on to his passion project. Bay says that today is Day One on Transformers 3 pre-production, and it started with a five-hour meeting at ILM in San Francisco and will continue as Bay flies to Rhode Island with screenwriter Ehren Kruger to meet with Hasbro and discuss new characters.

As far as Megan Fox and their War of Words is concerned, Bay had the following message for her: "P.S. Megan Fox, welcome back. I promise no alien robots will harm you in any way during the production of this motion picture. Please consult your Physician when working under my direction because some side effects can occur, such as mild dizziness, intense nausea, suicidal tendencies, depression, minor chest hair growth, random internal hemorrhaging and inability to sleep. As some directors may be hazardous to your health, please consult your Doctor to determine if this is right for you."

Source.

Still gotta see the second one yet :roll.

I've not heard the word harbinger but I'll take it as a compliment :lol.

That word is most often used in the following sentence. "(The) Harbinger of doom". Which, and in no way coincidently, is the feeling I get when thinking of a third transformers film.

This news actually makes me very happy since I loved the first 2 movies which were right up my ally with their explosions and loud noisey fights!

Not impressed I take it?
JC looks down at "popular" movies that are screened in multiplexes (and has said so in the past), so it's not surprising he's not going to be a fan of this film either.

I have? No offense mate but you're talking out of your arse in this case. I know I've made it quite clear that I have my own preferences but to suggest I won't watch a film because it's popular with the masses is just downright stupid and not true.

Also with all due respect, f**k off and let me have my opinion without you getting on like I'm wrong to have one.

But you do look down on the multiplex.
I don't think many fans of those two are that bothered that Joe Public, eating his popcorn like a f*cking animal and talking loudly in the cinema, doesn't get the intelligent design of the plot & use of imagery.
This quote is exactly you looking down on the multiplex crowd for not getting something above the usual multiplex fare and, in the same sentence, saying that fans of Kubrick and "Joe Public" the multiplex cinemagoer can't be the same person.

What's the quote even in reference to? I can't work out what I'm referring to movie wise.

Regardless of that, I'm not saying what you're claiming. Joe Public is a vague term and I'm simply defending my love of particular films from people who would watch a film half-heartedly and think/say it's 'complete rubbish' without really giving it a proper watch.

If you're trying to claim those sort of cinema go-ers don't exist well then I don't have anything more to say to the brick wall.

You know exactly what I mean by that quote and yet for some reason you still want to have an argument.

I guess I'll just have to stop posting in this sub-forum until I'm allowed to express my view without being told I'm up my own ass...without actually being told why. :roll

Or I could maybe just keeping posting and ignore the hippie film guru.

Woo..more robots fighting robots.

Teenage boys..literally cumming in their pants.

Hooray, Michael Bay.

Die.

Yet you half heartedly dismiss a film that hasn't even been produced yet...

Look, I have nothing against you or your opinions, but surely you can see the hypocrasy of what you've said?

I know hypocrasy is a strong word and it's really not intended as a personal reflection on you.

I'm interested to see Shockwave as the main baddie this time around. I hope (in vain, I know I know...) that they stay "as faithful as they can" to G1 Shockwave, because that guy is cold. Brrrrrr, I just felt a slight chill :P.

Transformers 1 was ok. Apart from some rather peculiar scenes with the AllSpark I enjoye it. Megatron and Starcream made for some good baddies (:P) and that cop-car Decepticon was a bit bad-arse.

Revenge of the Fallen was an abomination of a film. The explosions and fighting scenes were good, and Devastator was good too. Aaaand, Soundwave was a great character too; faithful-ish to G1 and pretty creepy. Trouble is, and I think I have a genuine point here, no-one had heard of The Fallen, aside from, perhaps, extreme fan-boys. Replace "The Fallen" with - I don't know - "Unicron", or "Galvatron" or "Thunderwing" and, even if the film plays out similarly to as it does now, perhaps we'd enjoy the villain a bit more?

Shockwave though; they have an opportunity to make a really memorable villain. In G1, Shockwave was cold, calculating, and only acted on pure logic. If you needed to be killed, and logic dictated that it was a good idea, then he'd kill you, friend or foe. Plus, they've GOT to stay faithful to Shockwave's face; that singular eye (light-bulb thing) and that's it. Shockwave's face is iconic, and if Bay's not careful then he could put off a lot of "20 and 30-somethings" straight away, especially if they are expecting the Shockwave they remember.

Cheers!
