Does a comic book character still count as a comic book character if you've not read the comic but seen the character in another media?

Yip. If you want to vote based purely around the films or TV shows (or whatever) then thats fine. Its about favourites, not trying to quantify whos the best or has the best stories. :)

 

Heck, one of my top ten I have never read a comic of, only seen animation and films of them.

Don't mean to derail the thread but is Lobo still published? I "used to buy it" (aka: bought a couple issues) back in the early/mid 90's (I think I have issue 12) and loved it, but found it hard to get in the UK.
