Guest Nemesis Enforcer
When I go into town on Thursday I think I will pop into a few game shops and get the cheapest pad I can find, working out a nice system that is working for me now though with my keyboard
dsrchris 190
I popped to the arcade on Teignmouth Pier last year, and out the back I very nearly wet myself with delight. They had an "old school" arcade that had loads of stuff including: Afterburner (in the cool cabinet where you sit in the cockpit and it moves around as you're flying) Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles 4-Player The Simpsons 4-Player Double Dragon Pac-Land WWF Wrestlefest Mortal Kombat Streetfighter 2 NES multigame arcade thingy (basically an NES in a cabinet, and you paid 10p for 15 minutes play time on any of a huge list of games) Punchout (with the handles so you had to "swing" your punches) Sonic Blastman And a whole heap of other stuff I can't recall, but remember giggling like an 11 year old girl at a Take That concert at. That was a day well spent. £20 lasted me a good few hours. Awesome, awesome day. In fact, I might see if I can go see what they've got still while I'm down that way next week... Guest MojoPogo
I remember playing Wrestlefest in the arcade, and being absolutely awestruck by the huge, chunky sprites and digitised speech used for the specials. Brilliant line up too. "Gorilla Press".......ah, the memories.....also, did anybody play Another World (fantastic game) on the Amiga and spend the whole time finding out all the different ways to die? Guest A.C.
I rarely play new games nowadays; Retro Gamer's my favourite magazine by a long ways. I used to play via emulators on the PC/Mac but I got an R4 card for my DS not so long ago and I've got full sets of NES, GameBoy and ZX Spectrum games already loaded up. Guest MojoPogo
My friend and I were talking about free roaming games, the first one i can remember playing was Midwinter on the Amiga. It was awesome, anyone remember it?
Guest A.C.
Never played Midwinter - I had an Atari ST at the time and very little money - but it was all over the magazines. Everybody raved about it for seemingly a good couple of years. On the ST one of my fav's was Flood. It was a puzzle/platformer where you played a little green blobby fella and the levels would slowly fill with water if I remember correctly. dsrchris 190
Anyone remember unirally on the SNES? That was a damn fine game. Really simple, but the half pipe levels where you had to pull off tricks were amazing.

Guest Nemesis Enforcer
NBA Jam TE is still the best Basketball game I have ever played. So many Mega Drive games have just never been improved on for me which is really strange when you think how so vastly more powerful consoles are these days
