Dead Crow 370
According to the Observer, Cena took full credit/blame for the Piledriver spot, I'd assume because he's bulletproof and thus Vince would probably just tell him not to do it again. So all is well that ends well.

Maxximus 353
Well done Cena. Well done, Cena? You of all people are gonna fall for this good guy Cena role so when he wins at Mania you're not all that bothered by it? What happened to your hate man? Don't forget for one second who we're talking about? Open your eyes, Ciaran 'cause right now you can't see him!
Guest Ciaran The King
As if, I'm disappointed Punk didn't botch the move:)
Guest John Hancock
Despite being the easily identifiable face of everything I dislike about wrestling, Cena always comes across as a stand up guy with stuff like this. I don't think anyone could really hold anything against him as a man with things like this, standing up to Vince a while ago and the insane amount of charity work he does. dsrchris 190
Yeah man definitely. John Cena the person seems like a decent sort of fella (with appalling taste in p0rn stars), it's just his superman wrestling persona that p*sses me off. Guest Jamster26
Oh, so the Piledriver is a banned move? Huh. I thought it was ace, mainly because I don't think I've seen very many of them.
Guest Ciaran The King
I thought it was ace, mainly because I don't think I've seen very many of them. Maybe it should be used as a special attraction, to add drama to the match?
Guest Jimmy Redman
Well its current use as a 'once in five years' special attraction is pretty effective I'd say.
Guest Ciaran The King
Well looking at the discussions this week I'd say you're right
Guest Boyo
There's a big difference between falling off your bike and spiking someone on their head :lol. Cheers! Not everyone gets 'spiked.' Yeah there's incidents where accidents happen, but you're talking a few out of how many thousands of piledrivers that have been thrown? Unless you're an asshole and want to hurt the guy or an accident happens, you're still taking care of him and doing your best to make sure he doesn't get hurt. TRAINED PROFESSIONALS. No reason they can't land on their head once and awhile if all parties are trustworthy and willing. Kids are gonna do what they want and there are always going to be dumbasses that ruin it for everyone. To be fair I did say that WWE will have people that can deliver the move perfectly well, and to be fair I haven't ever said that a trained professional shouldn't deliver the move. Plus I think the pile driver is totally badass. And there are going to be moves that are every bit as dangerous, or moreso, than the pile driver is. But they advertise themselves to children, and encourage the parents to take the kids there to watch it. Yes, kids are naive and dumb enough to copy the moves no matter how many warnings you give them not to, but I think the pile driver falls into the "kid can perform it easily: huge risk of serious injury" ratio. When I was young and performing wrestling moves down the park with my friends (including piledrivers I may add, with no deaths or neck breaks because we all knew we had to cushion the head with the thighs) the move I really wanted to do was the Razors Edge, but none of us had the strength to do it. I easily had the strength to deliver a pile driver though. NB: my favourite ever move to deliver was the crucifix pinfall thing. Great, great move. But overall, if WWE cannot even trust all of their roster of trained professionals to do the move, then their responsibility towards not having kids copy it increases. So yeah, they might as well ban. Which is a shame, as I like the move Cheers!
Guest Ciaran The King
But as Cena/Punk are veterans now they are well equipped to use the move, therefore in big matches why not pull out all the stops to get the contest, the performers and the seriousness of the match over
Guest The Beltster
I still dont think thats a good enough argument to ban the move, plus we all know the reason for the ban has nothing to do with kids copying it anyway, so why is that reason even being discussed?
Guest Ciaran The King
so why is that reason even being discussed? I suppose people feel that kids are more susceptible to copy the move and inflict injury on one another. Yet a child can climb a tree and fall and break a bone and there are no warnings on TV about that. Is there an actual statement on WWE that states that the move is banned? Guest Jimmy Redman
Its an unwritten rule. They have things in writing about chairshots and blood I think.
