Guest Jack
I loved the Mortal Kombat/Street Fighter/Tekken type feel about PRIDE. The entrances were amazing.

etz 78
The brutal truth that most content generators and politicians can't seem to understand is that most of the people who are pirating these things would just live without them if they weren't available for free... and it really is as simple as that. 10000 downloads is not 10000 purchases you didn't get, it's probably more like 10. This holds true for almost types of piracy with the exception of porn (where it's probably more like 500 -1000 purchases) because, let's face it, men would buy it if they had to. Omega 354
I've never bought porn even when there wasn't internet porn. I had to find it in plastic bags thrown into woods like everyone else.... :)
dsrchris 190
Okay so I download stuff. But I have a conscience about it. I'll download a couple of tracks to see if I'll like an album. If I like it, I buy it. If I don't it gets deleted. If I couldn't do this, I wouldn't purchase half as many records as I do. More money lost. I'll pay to see a film in the cinema, and if I liked it I'll download a copy to watch again until I buy the DVD/BluRay. If I couldn't do this I'd most likely forget abut the film and just not bother buying the DVD (unless the film's THAT good). More money lost. I'll download wrestling, but if it's one of the big 4 I pay for it and make it a social thing with my buddies, and if it's a good show (like MitB 2011) or something I really enjoy and want to see more of (Chikara, DDT, Documentaries, and Shoots) I'll buy that sucker the day it comes out. If I couldn't download stuff to check this out, then I'd be buying a helluva lot less, and be able to recommend a lot less for other people to buy. Which is again more money lost. What about us "conscientious downloaders" who only use it to tide us over until we can buy a proper copy? I'm kind of offended that I'd be considered a thief in the eyes of these people, because this whole internet piracy thing isn't nearly as black and white as they'd have you believe. This is me. I have heaps of things that I've never even watched, but simply have because I was able to get them. If I couldn't then no biggy. Omega 354
I think to some degree there is an age thing. At some point there is a cut off between people who realise that getting sh*t for free is something cool but unexpected. If I find somewhere that streams a movie I'd like to watch I'll watch it but that doesn't mean I'd have bought it. Most likely I wouldn't have. Same with MMA/Wrestling. Give me the chance to watch it and I will but I wouldn't pay for it and if I couldn't watch it I simply wouldn't. Just as an aside, I almost bough a CM Punk "best in the world" T-shirt because I loved the look of it and liked the punk angle. I wouldn't have even seen or known of that T-shirt if I hadn't of streamed RAW that week from a site. So I think "owners" of content need to be aware shutting down sites won't bring in people and does potentially cut off other revenue streams. dsrchris 190
See? Shades of grey. Same thing happened, but I bought the shirt. The system is flawed!!
Chris2K 176
Actually the exact same thing happened to me regarding the Punk shirt as that was before I had Sky. I hope yours took as long to arrive as mine did (about a month after it's release date). Anyway I can see the points Lorenzo is making and they're perfectly valid, the problem I have with the situation is that this act goes far beyond the UFC and would wipe out so much of the internet's usage. One thing that interests me is how Joe Silva or Dana go about scouting potential fighters? I'm sure they respect the copyrights of the MMA companies they work for and don't watch their copyrighted footage on YouTube or other video sites. I mean they obviously attend every single event themselves and watch the fights in person or buy a DVD of the show from the company... right? Also in the UK so few people have ESPN that streaming or torrents must make up a significant amount of their fan base. If I hadn't download the first Ultimate Fighter season then I probably wouldn't be an MMA fan today.
Omega 354
It's funny isn't it, all these companies who basically would have sold their souls and children for the kind of publicity the internet gives them for free suddenly get a little somewhere and want all good stuff and none of the bad. Chris is right, I would have little to know knowledge or care about the UFC were it not for the tousands of "best knockout" or "UFC highlight" vids on youtube and elsewhere. I wouldn't have watched any TNA either and technically I have that for free already on Challenge. Plus, if something is THAT good then you would buy it. I've watch all the jackass films online and because I'm likely to rewatch them and can't be arsed to troll the net for sites every time I do I'll probably buy the box set at some point when it's a reasonable price but I'd never have considred that if I hadn't have seen the films already. Guest Frank Botch
This past weekend's four-fight UFC on FX 1 event, which was the first UFC main card to air on the FOX-owned FX, averaged 1.3 million viewers. Additionally, the night's six-bout preliminary card averaged 148,000 viewers on FUEL TV. MMAjunkie.com (http://www.mmajunkie.com) today confirmed the ratings information with industry sources. UFC on FX 1 took place Jan. 20 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn. Jim Miller submitted fellow lightweight contender Melvin Guillard in the night's main event, and Josh Neer did the same to welterweight vet Duane "Bang" Ludwig in the co-headliner. Additionally, the show marked the debut of the UFC's new "B team" broadcasting duo of Jon Anik and Kenny Florian. The two-hour main card, which boasted four fights on FX, averaged a 1.19 rating among men 18-49 and a 1.21 among men 18-34. The three-hour preliminary card, which featured Jorge Rivera's successful retirement fight against middleweight Eric Schafer, featured six bouts and was one of FUEL TV's most-watched programs to date. Anyone here watch this? Pretty great show. Really obvious how the main was going to go when Melvin came out throwing flying knees against a dude who would kill him on the ground, really not the strategy to use. Very cool KO from Barry, competitive and exciting bantamweight fight and a great finish from Neer. And this was awesome: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-WOvguu9XgC0/TxoCI-2jiXI/AAAAAAAAHNw/4OEBKGthmNo/s1600/1.gif Edited January 25, 2012 by Frank Botch
Chris2K 176
MISAWA ROLLING ELBOW~! It was an awesome KO and I'm glad they had time to show it. Of course they had time because all the other fights were finished very quickly to provide another entertaining card from the UFC. 2012 has been good for them in terms of whats happening in the cage, it's just a shame that outside the cage everything seems to be going wrong. And Pat Barry showing some defensive grappling skills may be a contender for "upset of the year".

Guest Frank Botch
Ultimate Fighting Championship star Alistair Overeem has been charged with one count of misdemeanor battery stemming from an incident at Wynn Las Vegas over New Year's weekend. If convicted, the heavyweight title challenger faces a maximum of six months in the Clark County Detention Center and not more than a $1,000 fine. According to the District Attorney's office, Overeem is scheduled to appear in court at 8 a.m. on Feb. 21. A citation issued by Las Vegas police stated at about 3 a.m. on Jan. 2, Overeem pushed or shoved a woman in the face, "causing her to stagger back." Overeem has retained famed Las Vegas defense attorney David Chesnoff. "Alistair was not arrested, but was summoned to court," Chesnoff said. "There are two sides to this story and we intend on vigorously defending this. Alistair maintains his innocence. A stagger. Probably just how killer dutch kickboxers show affection http://knoxxgear.files.wordpress.com/2010/03/ugonegetraped.gif?w=450 http://knoxxgear.files.wordpress.com/2010/03/160y4w6_jpg.gif?w=450 Definitely.
